Chapter 5887: Parallel Quantum Dimensionality of Existence!

<Existential Interlude- THE Likely Road>

Before a coin lands, it is both sides at once. Everyone knows this in their hands. The coin spins, the room holds its breath, and for that moment heads and tails are both real, waiting.

The thinkers of many Cycles argued about what the waiting meant. Some said only what happens is real, and everything that might have happened is smoke. Others said every might-have-been is just as real as what happened, only somewhere else, where nobody is looking.

The ones who studied the smallest things of existence found something stranger still: down there, things truly do behave like spinning coins, and they only choose a side when something looks at them.

So it may be that existence is not one road, but every road, and looking is what makes one of them solid.

Some tell it more simply.

Long ago, there lived a small Lifeform named Likely. It was grey-green and thin as a thread, and its gift was this: whatever lay ahead, it could see which way it was most likely to go. It knew which leaf would fall first in autumn, which river would flood in spring, and which of two stars would burn out sooner.

Likely had children, and its children carried the gift, and their children carried it too. In time it became a Provenance of its own, and from it grew a Lineage that called itself the Lineage of the Likely Road.

Still, it wanted more. It wanted its Lineage to be great. It wanted Immense Ones.

So Likely flew to the edge of everything, where THE First Gu of Chance lived. It was a great moth, and its wings were covered in tiny doors, every one of them shut but one.

"How do I make my Lineage great?" Likely asked.

The moth opened a second door.

"Walk the likely road," it said. "It is the road that most often arrives."

"And the children who are unlikely?" asked Likely. "The ones I can see going nowhere?"

The moth opened a third door.

"They are roads too. Only roads you cannot see the end of."

"Then which road gives me the most Immense Ones?"

The moth opened a fourth door, and was quiet for a long time.

"The likely road is a worn road," it said at last. "Every hunter knows where it goes, and waits there. The unlikely road is the one nobody watches. Whatever walks it arrives from the one direction you are not facing. Keep one door open for what you cannot see."

Likely thanked the moth and flew home, and as it flew it thought: a door I cannot see is a door I cannot use.

So from that day, the Lineage weighed every child at birth. The ones whose roads ran bright and likely were raised in warm halls and taught everything. The ones whose roads ran nowhere were carried to the edge of existence, into the empty Gaps, and left there with a little food and no name.

It worked. In a handful of Ages, the Lineage of the Likely Road raised seven Immense Ones, and every force that saw them bowed.

But one of the children left in the Gaps lived.

She was the unlikeliest of all of them. Her road pointed nowhere at all, so everything out there looked past her, and in that empty place she grew in silence for a very long time. She learned to do the things nobody expects, because nobody was ever expecting her. When she was finally Immense, she went home.

The Lineage looked down every likely road and saw her lose on all of them.

The first Immense One went out to meet her, sure of the ending, and the ending was hers. After that went the second, and the third, each of them looking down the likely road and seeing their own victory there, because that was all their eyes had ever been taught to see. She came at each of them from the one direction they were not facing. By the time the seventh fell, the Lineage was calling every child it had left, and every child answered, and every one of them walked the likely road straight into her.

Likely went last. It looked ahead with its old, perfect gift, and saw clearly that she could not possibly win.

Long after, THE First Gu of Chance flew over the place where the warm halls had stood. It found the weighing stones cracked in a long row, the cradles empty, and in the founder’s seat a woman holding her own newborn up to the light, squinting, trying to see which way it was likely to go.

The moth shook its great head.

"The road you never watch is the road your ending walks home on."

---

Noah floated in the Undefined Gaps outside THE Legacy of THE Acharya of Immensity.

Everything around him was his Dream now. The Gaps here had become his Dream completely, through and through, and his body was free of any one place inside them. He could let it disolve here and bloom again over there, a thousand light years away, as easily as stepping from one room to the next.

And yet someone wanted him to stop!

A King had slapped down a warning, and a woman with Dimensions around her had told him to his face that Existence belonged to others. Then, very quietly, that same woman had given him a few glimpses of what he might do anyway.

He was young.

He knew it, and he owned it. What he was doing was dangerous, more dangerous than anything he had tried before, and he would have to be more careful than he had ever been. His mind had been turning over countless possibilities since the glass broke, and it kept coming back to one thing she had shown him.

A Parallel Quantum Dimensionality of Existence!

Weavings of probability. Things that had not happened yet, and could. If he paired that with his dreams...

Noah let the thought unfold slowly, from far above, as he looked at everything now.

A future was only a possibility that nobody had chosen yet. Existence held all of them at once, every road side by side, and most were left unwalked. That was what Vilenova’s glass had shown him: endings waiting in rows, real enough to see, not yet real enough to happen.

And what was a dream, really? A possibility given a shape, something yet to happen, played out somewhere safe.

He had dreamed existence into being his own. Why should he not dream its futures too?

If danger was all around him, then he would simply meet it first, in dreams. He would dream every road he might take and walk to the end of each one, and he would gaze upon countless Parallel Quantum Dimensionalities of Existence until he knew which of them led to a crater and which led somewhere worth going.

...!

A silent blue-gold light rose from his figure, soft and steady, and Noah closed his eyes.

Your existence seeks to dream.

Not of one future. Of countless futures.

A Shinjitsu Weaving of THE Dreaming Human Origin is blooming: THE Infinite Quantum Dream.

HUUM!

When he opened his eyes, everything had turned to glass!

It was blue-gold glass this time, his own colors, stretching away in every direction. Endless halls of windows rose and fell around him like the inside of a vast crystal, and every window held a different future, each one glowng faintly from within. In one, his Dream spread to the edge of the Chrysalis. In another, the Legacy of THE Acharya burned. In another, he sat on a dock with a fishing pole and nothing at all was wrong.

This was his realm of possibilities!

From here, he could dream of doing anything he wanted and watch where it led. He could walk a road to its very end, see the catastrophe waiting there, and simply choose a different road when he woke.

He had done something like this before, peering at the shapes of things to come through small, uncertain glimpses. This was different! Now he could step inside the possibilities and live them.

THE Infinite Quantum Dream.

Dream whatever you wish to do. The dream begins from your current conditions: your Dream, your Shinjitsu, your Kin, your enemies, and everything you know.

What you dream, existence will answer as it most likely would. You will see the reactions of everything around you.

What you see is likely. It is not certain.

The dream may end early if the existence it must copy grows too powerful to hold, if you die too many times inside it, if the probabilities grow too murky to see, or if your Shinjitsu runs dry.

Noah looked at the endless glass around him with clear eyes, and he knew exactly which road he wanted to see first.

Vilenova had told him to stay in empty places, to leave the Dimensions and Observable Existences where people lived alone, and to keep his head down.

He wanted to see what happened if he did none of that.

He wanted to see the rage of this King!

So he stepped into the road where he kept expanding, straight through everything in his path!

Quantum Dream 1 begins.

Starting conditions: your Dream as it is now. Assimilation Rate: 0.2%.

Minute 1: You resume your expansion across the Undefined Gaps.

Hour 1: Your Dream replaces two thousand more Gigaparsecs of existence. Fourteen Dimensions and three Observable Existences become your Dream. The lifeforms inside them keep living, unaware.

Narratives in the regions nearby begin to grow uneasy.

Hour 2: You have altered existence across thousands more Gigaparsecs. Dozens more Dimensions and Observable Existences now belong to your Dream.

Hour 3: A hand appears over every region of existence under your control.

It unleashes a light of Immensity that cannot be avoided and cannot be denied.

Every single bit of existence inside your Dream is erased.

Thousands of Dimensions and Observable Existences are gone. THE Legacy of THE Acharya of Immensity is collapsed. Countless lives are gone with them.

You have died.

Inside the light, there was rage. There was also pain.

It held back before for one reason only. It did not want to kill so many innocent lifeforms.

Quantum Dream 1 has ended due to the power that extinguished your dream being too grand.

...!
