"Let’s check it out immediately," someone suggested, and everybody agreed. While remaining in cognito, all the Tribunal Lords sneaked out of the base to check on the secret realm’s entrance, leaving Wang Wei alone with his thoughts. At first, he started calculating the ramifications of this opening. Then, something dawned on him: what will happen to Death Reverence?’There will definitely be spots for the secret realm. Should I let him in, or play dirty and keep him outside?’ A deep frown was plastered on his face. He will definitely enter, meaning there is a chance he will meet Death Reverence inside the secret realm.
’Without the Heaven and Earth Origin Cycle Array or a Source Chaos World as a medium, I’m screwed against even the weakest of Saints,’ Wang Wei frowned. ’No, he can’t go in. And I must keep an eye on him at all times.’
While Wang Wei was deep in his analysis, the Lords returned, but everyone had a somber gaze: "What happened?" Everyone was excited a few minutes ago, but now, they all looked as if they were constipated.
"The entrance requires at least 12 Tribunal Saints to force open," the Erudite Duchess explained.
Wang Wei resisted the urge to ask whether she was serious; there was no point in lying about such a thing. More importantly, these Saints did not hide their emotions after returning. So, Wang Wei frowned before asking: "Could we use a spell similar to the Infinite Divine Court?" The court once used a spell that utilizes the Grand Constructs to condense spirits and guardians. With a similar one, they might meet the quota.
"Do you think anyone can create or cast such a spell?" The Heaven Cardinal sneered. His reaction was a bit too much for Wang Wei, but he did not dwell on it; his mind was on something else.
’Interesting. I’ve always felt that the Cultivation civilization of this universe was too advanced. No matter the methods, no matter what concepts it involves, there is a spell, method, or technique that exists somewhere. And if it does not, give a genius a bit of time, and they can create it. However, it seems that this will no longer be the same at the Saint Tier.’
Logically speaking, Wang Wei’s observation made sense. The Paragon Age had existed for so many years and had given birth to so many peak Paragons and Primals, which was a sign of how much the [Mortal] and [Immortal] stages of cultivation had evolved. Meanwhile, since the beginning of time, the number of Saints in the world probably never reached four digits, and the number of [True Transcendents] or [Hongmeng Saints] can be counted on one hand.
"In that case, we have no choice but to work with the Infinite Divine Court," Wang Wei uttered. Everyone knew this truth, but they just didn’t want to admit it.
"I disagree," the Heaven Cardinal immediately rebutted. "We are here to exterminate them, not to give them benefits."
"It’s indeed improper. Currently, our situation is not ideal. If there is something inside the secret realm that can help that woman heal faster, we might be in a lot of trouble," Time Cardinal added.
"But if we don’t do anything, she will still heal and come to kill us," Karma Root Sovereign added. "So, do you suggest we stand still and wait until she comes, or take the risk inside? Maybe one of us will also reach the level of strength of False Grand Dao Saint, or we might find a foreign aid capable of dealing with her."
"So, we’re reduced to relying on luck?" Source Qi asked. "You’re going to risk the entire expedition for a small possibility?"
"There is no need to continue arguing," the Slaughter Ancestor said, looking at these cardinals with great disdain. Anyone could tell what these three were thinking: they didn’t want them to get stronger. More importantly, the False Grand Dao Saint cannot kill them, so they didn’t care that much if the expedition failed. "According to our agreement, major disagreements will be settled by a majority vote."
The cardinal almost lost control of their emotions. What majority rule? There were three of them and six of these people. In what world would they have a chance at a majority vote? Unfortunately, this was the agreement these people insisted on before participating in the expedition. The result was obvious: six in favor and three against.
"Since it’s decided, who wants to be the negotiator with the court?"
"I’ll go," Trinity Venerable stated.
"Before you leave, may I remind you of something?" Wang Wei suddenly said, which shifted all eyes to him. "The court is very dedicated to their cause, meaning someone might choose to stay behind and not enter."
His words immediately tensed up the room. Everybody present knew they were just a loose alliance bound by benefits and Grand Dao’s threat. For them, a true Chaos Demon God ruin was an opportunity that no one would give up. However, this may not be the same for the Tribunal Saints of the court. It’s very likely that one of them sacrifices them and stays behind — it might even be the False Grand Dao Saint. If that is true, everyone could fathom the fate of everybody who did not participate; such a terrible fate cannot be escaped, even if they were to leave behind a clone or avatars.
"I’ll negotiate for them to send everybody or a temporary cease-fire," Trinity Venerable nodded.
"What if they refused our demands?" Wang Wei asked.
"Then, we will start the war early," the Slaughter Ancestor sneered. Although they were wary of that woman, it didn’t mean they were afraid. If push comes to shove, they will launch an all-out war, sacrificing as many people as needed to break through the Reverse Black Stone Array and kill her before she returns to her peak shape. The Slaughter Ancestor has always wanted to use this approach, but everybody else disagreed. But now, this was the perfect opportunity.
"Go and mobilize everybody to show them our determination," the Erudite Duchess ordered, and Wang Wei left to execute. Soon, the Infinite Divine Court noticed the large-scale movement of the entire Heaven and Earth Origin Cycle Array. At first, they thought these people were trying to re-establish the [Thirteen Pillars of Destruction] and planned to stop them as usual. However, they were shocked when one of their Lords sent a clone asking for a negotiation.
Wang Wei thought the process would be quick, but it was not until more than two million years had passed that he was summoned for another meeting. The duchess first handed him the terms of the deal. The Trinity Venerable did an excellent job. Their sides not only had three times as many spots, but they also received a binding agreement that all five members of the Infinite Divine Court would enter, and that the woman called Suiji could not attack their base during this period.
In return, the court also asked them to stop attacking and to stop laying out the [Thirteen Pillars]. However, while this appeared to be a victory, Wang Wei knew the pillars were a smokescreen. The effect of refining the timeline has been granted to one of the many sub-arrays of the newly updated Heaven and Earth Origin Cycle Array.
’This bastard knows how to use the enemy’s lack of knowledge,’ Wang Wei internally sneered. The court only wants one thing: to wait for Suiji to exit her retreat. Knowing this, the Trinity Venerable essentially took advantage of them. However, this also shows that a turning point of this expedition is Suiji. As long as she regains her strength, everything might be over.
"We’ve already opened the secret realm and gathered basic information through projection. Here is the information," the Erudite Duchess continued. With a flicker of her wrist, a jade talisman floated before Wang Wei, who immediately frowned after receiving the content.
The secret realm contains a [Causality Isolation], just like this timeline, which means that Eternal Path beings who die inside cannot use means such as their avatar or their Secret Vault to revive themselves. More importantly, clones or avatars left outside the secret realm risked developing their own thoughts and ideas over time and would inevitably rebel.
’This changes things,’ Wang Wei secretly groaned. He had already decided to prevent Death Reverence from getting in, but only because he thought he could leave a clone to watch over the bastard. But now, this was out of the question.
’With how things are, there is a high chance the Time Nexus will be brought in advance if I meet Death Reverence inside the secret realm,’ he thought. Allowing the bastard to enter was out of the question. The issue was how to keep an eye on him while he was absent. Numerous ideas flashed in his mind, but he was not happy with any of them.
"We need a mechanism to choose who can enter. What do you suggest?" the Erudite Duchess asked.
