Lin Fan’s body rapidly regenerated, but this time, he was in his human form/size. Wang Wei frowned. Not only did the latter survive his attack, which was already odd, but the current Lin Fan gave him a strange feeling. His eyes contained a hint of arrogance and nobility, as if he were the most noble creature in the cosmos and no one could compare to him. Additionally, his aura was improving at an alarming rate."Should I call you Lin Fan or Hundunxi?"
"Does it matter?" the Chaos Demon God asked coldly.
Wang Wei’s brow furrowed. One of his worst fears had occurred. Raising his head to look at the sky, he yelled, "Doesn’t this violate the rules? Why aren’t you people doing anything? Do you want to win this fight or not?"
"Don’t waste your breath," Hundunxi sneered. "The moment Pangu chose to help you condense the Power Law Heart, the Heaven Splitting Holy Land was doomed."
A fierce light flashed deep in Wang Wei’s eyes. "You were also part of this grand plan to ruin me?"
"You overestimated your significance," Hundunxi sneered. "In this grand scheme, you, Lin Fan, me, Pangu, and the two Holy Lands were nothing but pawns. And with one move, everybody was checkmated."
"Grand Scheme? Checkmated?" Wang Wei sneered. His eyes became fiercer, and his killing intent intensified. "You think you have me cornered? You think you can defeat me by breaking the rules?"
"No one broke the rules," Hundunxi calmly stated. "My presence is merely the result of Lin Fan’s using a summoning technique to allow an unknown being to occupy his body. My strength is still within the [Immortal Stage] reference and cannot be considered breaking the rules."
Wang Wei stared at him briefly before laughing maniacally, "Good, good, good. Let’s see how you kill me." With one step, he appeared in front of his opponent and made a slashing motion with his right hand. A vision of an ax manifested behind him, following the trajectory of Wang Wei’s hands.
Hundunxi remained calm, even sneering. A purple hue surrounded his fist, and he punched. The stars stopped shining, gravity stopped operating, space-time collapsed, and the laws of the universe stopped operating. However, none of that matters. The only thing that matters is the fact that Wang Wei took three steps backward after the clash, and his right arm was broken, with bones protruding through his skin.
In less than a second, it reverted to its original state, but Wang Wei understood the greater implications. Regardless, his will did not waver. He moved forward and attacked with all his power. The second clash was even more intense. All the bones in Wang Wei’s arm were instantly pulverized, and he took seven steps backward to divert all the power.
However, instead of showing any fear or hesitation, a smile crept on the corner of his mouth; the Li Clan blood flowing through his body was activated. Wang Wei’s fighting spirit rose to the Heavens as if to announce the arrival of a Battle God ready to fight Heaven and Earth until all sentient beings succumb to his might.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The clash of these two powerhouses was beyond what the mortal mind could comprehend. And for a moment, Hundunxi dominated Wang Wei. With each attack, the Son of Fate was battered, his body twisted or destroyed in unnatural ways. Although he heals most of it, a few injuries remain open, and with each passing clash, more of them appear on his body.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Wang Wei showed no fear or hesitation. No matter how battered and bruised his body became, he relentlessly pursued his opponent, even showing the initiative. Hundunxi should have been joyous, given his significant advantage. But he wasn’t. He couldn’t. Since he was limited to the [Immortal Stage], why was he stronger than Wang Wei?
There were a few minor reasons, but the primary one is that he had created an artificially Dao Embryo and Saint Heart for Lin Fan, truly achieving the Quasi-Saint Realm with three. It didn’t take him long to realize that Wang Wei was learning from him and using the fight to condense his Saint Embryo.
Time was of the essence, so Hundunxi began using some of his more terrifying techniques. Wang Wei suffered terribly, but he wasn’t killed. More importantly, after surviving one of those attacks, he learned from them and upgraded his arsenal. The past 10 Yuan epochs have drastically improved Wang Wei’s strength, but this battle was the exact thing he needed to master his power beyond the norm, and more importantly, sublimate his spells, techniques, and arts to a high level.
Hundunxi’s complexion became ugly; he could tell Wang Wei would succeed any time now. Gritting his teeth, he used his most powerful technique: Primordial Chaos Demon God Dharma Image. A Dharma Body of his true body manifested between Heaven and Earth, intimidating all directions. The Saints watching the fight were shocked because such a technique had reached 10% of a 1-pillar Saint’s strength.
Wang Wei instantly retaliated by summoning a Dharma Image of his own. His version was of himself, but not the regular self; he condensed an image of his future self, who has already transformed the Human Fiendgod Bloodline into the Human Chaos Demon God Bloodline. The clash of these two ancient entities both split Heaven and Earth and created all things in the universe.
Wang Wei’s Dharma Image did not last long, but for each second it existed, a small essence of Hundunxi’s was absorbed and integrated into Wang Wei’s foundation. Had he cast a second Dharma Image, it would have held even longer than before. However, Hundunxi did not give up his advantage and wanted to eliminate his opponent.
"It’s too late," Wang Wei thought. His Dao Embryo was established; to be precise, an incomplete version. Without access to his Grand Dao Source, Wang Wei could only fuse his essence, spirit, and Ordinary Law into his Dao Body; he refused to leave his imprint on the Origin Laws.
"After this battle, I’ll do whatever it takes to condense my Dao Quintessence Prototype," Wang Wei thought. With the Dao Quintessence, he wouldn’t have to worry about losing access to his Grand Dao Source, since he would be the source.
Hundunxi’s Dharma Image reached out to squash Wang Wei like a bug. However, the latter did not back down. Wang Wei’s spine trembled slightly before he transformed into a colossal silver-gray dragon. These two mythological creatures fought each other, and the result was the Dharma Image’s disappearance, but at the cost of nine of the dragon’s 12 legs, and most of its scales being destroyed.
"Damn it," Hundunxi cursed to himself. He was a Grand Dao Saint. Even if he’s stuck with the power of an [Immortal], how could anyone be his equal? Unfortunately for him, his years of injuries, his lack of fighting experience since no one truly challenged him in prison, and Wang Wei’s slow approach to the limit of the [Immortal Stage] left Hundunxi truly outmatched.
"How about I use a tiny amount of Saint power?" Hundunxi thought. He could not accept this humiliation, and cheating might be the only way to solve the issue. However, as soon as he had these thoughts, a terrifying sight landed on him. The feeling of death surrounded him; he knew this wasn’t his mind playing tricks on him — this was a warning. A warning that someone will overthrow the board if he breaks the rules.
"Haaaa," Hundunxi roared, feeling angry and aggrieved. If he has so much strength, he cannot use it. On top of that, someone dared warn him. "Bastard, today, you must either die or have your path be corrupted."
"You can’t kill me, or you’d better pray my path is not ruined," Wang Wei sneered. With each passing second, he absorbs Hundunxi’s years of mastery and knowledge to improve himself. As a result, the injuries on his body are becoming fewer with each clash. At this rate, it will probably take less than 10 years for his strength to catch up with the latter. However, Wang Wei did not want to wait that long.
"How about you calm down so we can talk?" Wang Wei stated. "You can’t kill me, and I can’t kill you. How about I admit defeat in this fight?"
"I’ve said it before: you will only leave here as a dead man or someone without a future."
Wang Wei sighed. "I don’t know whether it’s you or Grand Dao, but how can you be so stupid to ruin my path?"
"Excuse you?"
"What exactly do you think will happen after I’m ruined?" Wang Wei asked with a sneer. "Do you think I will give up? Do you think I’ll become disheartened and give up on life? Give up on my pursuit of the Dao? Maybe accept my fate and become Grand Dao’s lapdog and become a Cardinal?"
"What are you trying to say?" Hundunxi asked, his attack intensity unintentionally weakening.
"If my path is ruined, then the day I become a Tribunal Lord, the countdown of the universe’s destruction will begin," Wang Wei sneered. These people have already been scared by the prophecy about the [All-Heaven Fate Calamity]. How much worse would things become if Wang Wei becomes desperate?
"I would spend the rest of my life planning and scheming to bury not just the Primordial Timeline, but the entire Infinite Trichiliocosm. I will use the life of every sentient being in existence as nourishment to cleanse my foundation and ensure I become a Grand Dao Saint. Then, I will use Grand Dao itself and all the surviving Grand Dao Saints as the foundation for my True Transcendent Path."
