The fate awaiting Xun Junyao is indeed wonderful, but Wang Wei can foresee many ups and downs. The Path of Saint is not an easy one to walk, especially with many people trying to stop her or telling her she’s on the wrong path. Luckily for her, she will have the support of the Origin Seal Continent and the Dao Opening Sect.
Exhaling deeply, Wang Wei stood from his cultivation position and activated the room’s array. The Perfect Foundation was healed, regaining all the previous abilities, especially the ability to save his life during the sanctification process. There were even two additional benefits, but Wang Wei was sure of only one of them and still needed to test it out.
With the array protecting the room, he did not hesitate to start testing out his attacks. With each punch or technique, the power increased by a small percentage until it reached a ceiling. Wang Wei smiled because he was currently more than 50% stronger than before.
"Without destruction, there cannot be creation," he muttered. After repairing his Saint Foundation, the concept of perfection evolved, and Wang Wei had an epiphany on the [Saint Control Stage] of the [Force Control Skill]. He saw hope for entering that level before his sanctification.
So, with a smile on his face, Wang Wei stopped the testing to unravel the mystery of the second ability. Upon closer reflection, he discovered his foundation contained a hidden causality thread; the thread was so well-hidden that Wang Wei believed he himself could see it because someone wanted him to.
"What a grand scheme," Wang Wei muttered after opening his eyes. He knew what his foundation’s new ability was. Well, it wasn’t new. The ability was always present, ready for the right time, but now, after repairing his [Existence], he finally uncovered it.
Wang Wei stood from his cushion and looked in the distance, thinking: "The Dark Truth is connected to my future self. It may even be my own creation." He was more sure of this deduction now. Why did his foundation require the tears of Grand Dao? At first, Wang Wei thought it was the key ingredient to ensure he could have more than one attempt at Sanctification, but now, he knew better.
The answer to that question was even more profound than he had anticipated: the Otherworldly Foundation. The process of condensing the 81st Veins required stealing [Six Authorities] from the [Six Grand Constructs]. Such a path was not easy for a multitude of reasons, but Wang Wei’s greatest worry has been the truly protected constructs, such as the [Six Paths of Samsara] and the Grand Dao Source.
With his mastery of Life and Death Dao, he still had some confidence to scheme his way into stealing from the underworld, but he wasn’t confident about the Grand Dao Source. Of all the constructs, it’s the only one under direct management from Grand Dao and the only one without a guard dog in the form of the cardinals. In Wang Wei’s eyes, those guard dogs are weaknesses to be exploited, but that construct did not have one.
But now, someone has granted him a key: his Perfect Foundation. Using the hidden causality thread created from Grand Dao’s Tears, he now had the perfect opportunity to steal the authority needed for his foundation. Wang Wei shook his head; the only person who could have granted him such a hidden key when he was nothing but a little Empyrean is his future self; that’s why he thinks the Dark Truth was his own creation.
"Mingyunjun is the key to the River of Fate; Grand Dao handed me the key to Primordial Chaos and the Source Qi, and now, I have the key to the Grand Dao Source, leaving Six Paths of Samsara, and the River of Time," Wang Wei thought. His future was bright with most of the work done for his Otherworldly Foundation and his ascension to the Tribunal Saint Realm.
A confident smirk flashed in Wang Wei’s face, "But how can I stop there? Among people who have condensed the 81st vein, there should be differences in power, and I want to be the best. Aren’t there other hidden constructs? What would happen if I also included the Hall of Record, the Pool of Creation, and even the Critical Hit Path?"
A grand plan began to form in his mind. An Earth Vein condensed from the Nine Authorities would be better than just six, establishing the best possible foundation. However, such a plan is harder to achieve than stated. Forget the Hall of Records — which Grand Dao keeps close to her heart — he has only heard rumors about the Pool of Creation. Even now, Wang Wei has no concrete evidence that it exists.
The Critical Hit Path is a unique construct with no connection to the foundational concept of realities. Its existence is only to enhance the battle prowess of the Primordial Beings. Maybe there are other secrets, but as of now, Wang Wei doesn’t even know if it’s possible to use it as part of the Otherworldly Foundation.
Regardless of these issues, he will not stop. As the saying goes, when there is a will, there is a way. Wang Wei has enough confidence in himself to create miracles and achieve what many people have failed to do. It also helped that he’ll have his wife’s support since she also needs these materials for her foundation.
"The Heaven Cardinal might be the key to the Hall of Records, and even if I already have one, the Source Qi Cardinal can be a great gift for Hong’er," Wang Wei thought with a sinister light flashing in his eyes. A gentleman can wait ten years for revenge. Unfortunately, Wang Wei was not a gentleman. If there is a chance for revenge now, he’ll take it.
Exiting his seclusion room, Wang Wei prepared to resume his Commander Duty. However, as soon as he reached the command room, he felt something was wrong. Previously, his intuition was useless, but after healing himself, the [Perfect Pill] further optimized his body, enhancing many of his abilities.
Wang Wei frowned. The warning he felt was not just for a small issue, but a possible death threat. So, he closed his eyes without hesitation to sense the source. Nothing was discovered, so Wang Wei tried another approach: boost his intuition. Since it was the only reliable form of detection, he tried to boost its effect.
Wang Wei shook his head upon opening his eyes. Something was indeed terribly wrong, but he could not find the source. His mind then entered [Analysis Mode], seeking a solution. The light of wisdom instantly blessed him.
"I’ve made quite the achievement in the Way of Perfection. Why not try it?" Wang Wei thought. He closed his eyes for a few minutes, and when he opened them, his eyes had turned all white, with no pupil:
[True Sight of Perfection]
No matter what the enemy has done, no matter what plan, scheme, or hidden move, it cannot be perfect; actions have cause and effect, and they also leave traces — unless they are perfect. But true perfection does not exist between Heaven and Earth. Wang Wei’s newly developed technique allows him to find imperfections in everything.
Glancing around, Wang Wei saw a strange world. He saw the world in a perfect form, an endless black with no blemish. At least, there was no blemish until Wang Wei’s mind focused on finding the imperfection in whatever was wrong with the command room. Then, his expression turned ugly.
"The Heaven and Earth Origin Cycle Array was tampered with. With one move, I will lose 99% of all my command over it," Wang Wei thought. "No, not just me. Even the Tribunal Lords will lose control."
Losing control of the array will have catastrophic ramifications, not to mention this was probably not the full extent of the enemy’s plan. Why did they take control of the array? Is it just to remove their defenses? Kill them with it? Or maybe an even more sinister plot?
Wang Wei immediately wanted to report this discovery to the Tribunal Lords, but realized the communication chain was compromised. So, instead, he headed toward the Lords’ quarters to directly report. During the voyage, he was on alert in case the mastermind detected something and suddenly accelerated their plans.
Unfortunately for Wang Wei, no one received him. No Tribunal Lords saw him — even the Erudite Duchess. He even used a signal that this was an emergency, but he received no answer.
"Did something happen to them? Or are they just suspicious?" Wang Wei thought. In their injured state, it made sense that they would be wary of each other — especially after what the Source Qi Cardinal did. After all, unlike the previous injuries, the ones inflicted by the purification lights are probably more severe. However, all of them may have already suffered at the mastermind’s hand.
"Let’s hope this is not the worst-case scenario," Wang Wei thought.
