"Retreat," Cui Yun yelled, her expression paler than snow. All the elders and disciples scrambled back to the pagoda, but the court wouldnt let them leave easily. The puppets became more menacing in their attacks, and the ships bombardment intensified. Within seconds, the Five Element Holy Land lost a significant portion of its troops.

Meanwhile, Wu Hong finished sealing the Qi Luck Dragon with a smile on her face. The Heavenly Court is actually a masterpiece; its both a True Saint Artifact and a Saint Array multiple Saint Arrays perfectly combined into one. As such, the resources required to build it were enormous, and technically speaking, it was incomplete.

Even after fleecing the other holy lands during the repair of the Three Path Array, it wasnt enough to complete the court. However, once she transformed this Qi Luck Dragon into raw, Saint-tier resources, Wu Hong felt she could make great progress in perfecting the court in the ways she had envisioned.

"Your Majesty, what should we do next?"

Wu Hong controlled her emotions and looked into the distance. After the retreat, Cui Yun activated the holy lands last defense: their protective array. "The Heavenly Court has sealed the world, so nothing can enter or exit. However, given that no one has come to our rescue, we know what their decision is."

A taut silence spread throughout the room, tugging at everybodys heartstrings. The fact that their holy land fell so fast was truly absurd; the battle didnt even last an hour, and all their most powerful force and trump cards were easily dealt with. This wasnt a war this was just a grown man bullying a child.

"Alright, you can all leave."

"But, Holy Lord "

"You dont have to worry. I will fix this."

The elders looked at each other, but eventually no one said another word and left the room. Cui Yun exhaled deeply before summoning the Holy Lord token. As she gently caressed it, she remembered her masters last words.

"Master, after all your sacrifice, the holy land will be destroyed in my hands," Cui Yun said, tears dropping from her eyes. People thought she was ruthless and killed her master to gain power, but only she knew the previous Holy Lord had asked her to do it.

The backlash from using the Five Element Scroll was too severe, and the former Holy Lord knew she wouldnt survive. Even worse, she might not have time to facilitate a peaceful transition of power for her disciple. So, in an act of extremism, the Holy Lord asked Cui Yun to kill her, using a brutal means to take power and deter any opposition.

"I cant allow this to happen," Cui Yun uttered, wiping away her tears. Before her passing, her master passed on a secret that only Holy Lords could be privy to. Without hesitating, Cui Yun activated the token and disappeared.

Heavenly Court:

Wu Hong calmly watched the shield slowly break, waiting for something. At some point, a shadow appeared next to her to hand her a scroll. Her brow furrowed for a few seconds before returning to normal. "Tell them to do it."

"Yes, Lord."

As soon as those orders were sent, the holy turned into chaos. Disciples, elders, and even Grand Elders suddenly turned on their own kind and started a brutal slaughter. Portals opened to release countless powerful and terrifying beasts that wreaked havoc inside the pagoda, resulting in countless deaths and, more importantly, chaos.

Some elders tried to control the situation, but it was too muchespecially since the attack seemed organized, and the behind-the-scenes manipulator even attacked anyone who tried to stop it. With little choice, the elders returned to the Holy Lords room to ask her to step in and take control, but they were shocked to find Cui Yuan gone. Then, rumors spread that the Holy Lord had secretly run away, further aggravating the situation.

The panic intensified, resulting in more chaos and more death, which in turn intensified the panic, forming a close loop. Meanwhile, the Rune Shadows responsible for this operation began to move; from the beginning, their true objective was not just destruction. No, it was strategic their target has always been the Sect Protective Formation.

While the rest of the sect acted like a headless chicken, they slipped into the array core control and killed everyone manipulating the array. Then, they deactivated the entire thing, allowing the court to breach the pagoda.

Wu Hong raised her head exactly as the void tore apart, revealing a monster. Yes, monster was the right word to describe this abomination. The creature had Cui Yuns beautiful face, but that was the only human aspect that was left. Her neck and upper torso had turned into rock-like armor, her legs had transformed into tree roots, her arms were pure metal blades, and a pair of fire-and-water wings hung on her back.

"What a strange aura," Wu Hong thought. Cui Yuns body emitted the purest Five Elements she had ever experienced in her life. However, underneath that pure aura was a chaotic madness and hatred of a human most likely Cui Yuns.

"Any news from the True Qi Path Holy Land?"

"Nothing yet, Your Majesty," Han Guo replied.

"Order the Qilin Sovereign to deal with this monster."

"Your Majesty, is this wise?" the Battle Peak Master asked. The Sovereign had a crucial role in keeping an eye on the True Qi Path Holy Land.

"They have been too quiet, so it may not be a bad thing to lure them into acting," Han Guo said.

All her eyes inside were cleaned up, and Wu Hong did not like how quiet these bastards were. So she decided to ease the pressure on them to see if that would force them to do something. And if that doesnt work, shell do the opposite: increase the pressure. .

"Lets go," Wu Hon uttered. "Today, we will conquer our first holy land, but it will not be the last."

With her arrival, the chaos was soon quelled. All elders and disciples were arrested and waited for judgment. The Peak Masters immediately began taking inventory of the holy lands resources while dealing with the aftermath. What is war without the plunder that comes afterward? With all these resources, the Emperor Path Holy Land and the Heavenly Court will reach a level of prosperity that no one could ever imagine.

Wu Hong had already turned the Holy Lord Meeting Room into a Throne Room to deal with the managerial aspects of the aftermath. While she was reading a document, the Qilin Sovereign appeared in the room in his shrunken form, with five floating orbs of different colors in front of him.

"Youre not injured?"

"Oh?"

"That old Taoist must have spent a significant amount of time purifying his Source Qi to leave a path for the next generation. Sadly, sanctification isnt easy. After so many years, no one has succeeded, and this thing became the last trump card for the holy land."

Wu Hong held the five orbs. "Are you sure this thing is completely purified?"

"I checked, and there wasnt anything wrong. Did you detect something?"

"No, but its never a bad thing to be extra careful," Wu Hong said. For now, the best course of action should be to study Source Qi. Afterward, shell have Grand Dao analyze it for any issues before deciding how to use it. Regardless, the last thing shell do is absorb this thing herself.
