Chapter 950: Gun Battle 2.Legion was no longer in midair again, instead just like his cyborg golems. He too had taken cover behind a chunk of collapsed buildings, as he watched the smoke obscuring the tower slowly clear.
He finally sighed in relief after confirming Alec was okay atop the Tower, and nothing had happened to him after the collision of the two projectiles.
But that didn’t mean he’d forgiven the robots that almost cost Alec a loss, Legion immediately turned his attention to the rear-line robots carrying heavy weaponry and issued new orders.
“1, 2, 3—provide cover for me. 4, 5, 6—you’ll breach with me. 7, 8, 9 you lots would provide long-range support, and your primary objective is to keep the robot back line from interfering again.
“If anyone tries to act too clever, eliminate them before I reach them, number 10, as for you, your mission is to handle healing and all support, just be ready when we need you.”
Legion was furious that he’d allow something like that slip through and intended to make up for it by annihilating the rest of the attacking robots at a very fast speed.
He glanced toward Number 1 after hearing footsteps echo faintly, proof that the enemy robots were closing in. At this point, they were more focused on Legion and his unit than on Alec, who seemed to be idling away at the top of the tower.
With Legion marked as the top threat, Alec finally got a few moments of peace while watching everything happen from above.
Legion then waved his left hand to Number 1, giving out the signal to begin the bombardment with 2 and 3.
The instant he received the signal, Number 1 popped up, hefted his fusion cannon, and opened fire on the robots creeping closer, who had been thinking they’d been stealthy enough to go unnoticed.
With Number 1 raining shots down on them, the robots were forced to return fire with their own guns, and he successfully drew their aggro as rounds shredded the broken rock he was using for cover.
Each shot was aimed at the center, trying to whittle the rock away piece by piece, and Number 1, who’d had enough flashed hand signs to the other two attacker-class cyborg golems with him.
At that exact moment, both of them emerged from behind the same huge stone Number 1 was using for cover, with weapons raised, however number 2 lifted his right hand, and a holographic light fired from his hand-guard toward the cluster of robots ahead.

The instant he cast the ability; every robot within 30 meters caught in the light had its gun forced into overdrive, jamming the cycle and requiring a full reload before they could fire again at their opponent.
However to number 3 who had been waiting, that was all the time he needed to trigger his own special ability.

The mechanism on his back shifted and clicked as four missiles slid out from their bays. His left-eye scanner locked onto four targets, and he let the missiles fly with a sharp whine as they streaked through the air toward their marks.
Boom!
Four tight explosions blossomed, the blasts weren’t massively destructive because they were limited by how much energy Number 3 could feed into them, but they were just exactly what the trio needed to stop the first wave of robots that had closed in on them.
Another group rushed from the rear, trying to reinforce those stuck reloading their weapons, but it was all for nothing, as Number 1 had already recharged his fusion cannon, the weapon hummed back to life, as the barrel glowed with its familiar purple light.
Without much thought, he rose and landed atop the large rock he’d been hiding behind, boosted by the thrusters beneath his feet.
The moment he rose that high, he was in full view of the robots; and they were forced to look at him in all his glory and realize they hadn’t even managed to leave so much as a dent on him when they’d rained rounds at him earlier.
However, now it was time for his own revenge, as plasma-charged bolts flew from his cannon, leaving purple streaks as they ripped toward their targets.
Within a few shots, he drilled clean hits into the first four robots that Number 3 had damaged earlier with his javelin array but hadn’t been able to kill, while Numbers 2 and 3 joined the wipeout.
Legion finally stepped out from his cover, lifting his Shadowforge Repeater one-handed as he dashed forward, gunning down the newly arrived reinforcements.
Mid-burst, his scanner warned of another energy signature closing from the flank, causing him to flick his gaze and catch the incoming robot at the edge of his vision, with a laser sword in hand thrusting forward,
Its intent was crystal clear, and that was taking Legion out, and just as Legion started to use his left hand to reach behind him in a bid to draw the Fragment Gun, he’d reserved for exactly this kind of counter. A sharp bang cracked across the air.
A light-green beam lanced through the attacker, dropping the robot to the ground at Legion’s feet before he’d even finished drawing.
The shot had come from one of the support cyborgs he’d stationed in the rear, with the orders to provide overwatch, and eliminate threats before they reached him.

On the other side where the first team of the War God Mage Academy were Competing in, Pale was shuffling through the beast men he faced.
Though the difficulty and the number of enemies had increased since the second round, he didn’t seem to care; as he simply slapped his palms into their chests, and with each hit his frost spread faster.
Those marked by frost only grew slower the longer they fought against him, which leads to their slow and cold demise.
But right now, Pale wasn’t the one in the limelight like he expected, and it wasn’t Brandon either, whom he felt was slightly stronger than him. It was Endrick.
Someone he’d never thought much of was the one creating most of the ruckus that was pushing the War God Mage Academy to a higher position in the ranking.
Endrick was shooting down beast men from atop the tower; his accuracy and precision were so frightening that the moment he nocked an arrow on his spirit-weapon bow, it was almost guaranteed he’d take a life next.
He was just that good, and that wasn’t all. He was also assisting teammates at long range.
If anyone was being pressured by multiple enemies at once, he’d fire another variant arrow he reserves for such occasion, and once it met its mark, the arrow would then draw a portion of the target’s mana and then blossom into long vine branches that wrapped around the bodies of those nearby.
The more mana Endrick infused into the arrow while drawing and the deeper it lodged into the target, then the larger and more ferocious the vines that manifested.
