Chapter 955: Predictions.

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

The Northern citizens watching from the four gate axis and the high executives of the Northern kingdom watching in the arena could hardly believe their eyes.

The match had just begun, and it wasn’t looking like the Vajra Academy team had more to offer; neither did it seem they could mount any real resistance again.

“Get them!” Raizo said, as he was still on a mission to beat the three-minute time frame the School of Silent Night had used to achieve victory, at his command, his team closed in on the Vajra mages, while Daigo shifted to block both Omar and Yama as they tried to engage others.

“Come on now, your opponent is me, let’s have some fun,” Daigo said, shocking the crowd that a mage who is not even introduced with an official position in the Crimson Dawn team would block both a captain and a vice-captain of another team together.

His actions reeked of arrogance, but given what he’d shown so far, they couldn’t write him off, after all he’d proven himself capable; they just couldn’t tell why someone like him had been unknown till now, or why he hadn’t been given the vice-captain position in the Crimson Dawn Team.

“Help the rest of our team and regroup. I’ll take care of him,” Omar said as he rushed forward trying to engage Daigo Ryu, as another bone spike had already grown from his right hand, and he thrust it toward Daigo,

who simply swung his greatsword to deflect the spike as Omar moved in close after piercing with full speed like that.

In return, Daigo pushed his left hand forward with the little space he could find, aiming to grab him by the throat.

But Omar was quick to notice and tried to retreat, causing Daigo’s hand to drift, catching only Omar’s right forearm, and yanking him closer, before he then proceeded to slamming his forehead into Omar’s face.

Unlike the earlier opponent who was knocked out cold by just one headbutt, Omar on the other hand stayed on his feet, though he staggered backward.

“AHHH!” Daigo swiftly changed his grip on his weapon as a small space was created, by twisting the sword inverted and driving the pommel forward, smashing it into Omar’s neck. Immediately Omar lost his breath on impact, as his eyes flashed red from the precise strike to a critical point.

Without hesitation, Daigo let his blade fall and began raining punches on Omar who was disoriented from the low blow, in response Omar tried to raise his guard and not be overwhelmed by the flurry of blows, but it took only about three seconds before he was sent flying.

After enduring hundreds of blows powered by blood energy with his unstably raised defenses,

“More!” Daigo said as he turned toward Yama, who hadn’t gone far at all.

Seeing Omar drop like that just seems to snap something inside him; as Yama turned back and slapped his palm through the air.

[> Mid Tier Spell - Golden Palm. <]

A golden palm materialized in midair before Daigo, slamming into his chest and flinging him away from Omar, this time Yama stopped running to assist his other teammate just to ignore the more troublesome Daigo, as he was willing to fight him now and knock him out.

He closed the distance before Daigo could regain balance, his body now gave off a silvery sheen, as his Qi started blending with his mana.

At the tips of his fingers, Ki—was being reproduced from the fusion of both energies and coated his hands as he thrust in a serpent combat style, aiming to jab Daigo’s neck the same way Daigo had slammed the sword’s pommel into Omar’s.

Before he could finish the move, someone at the edge of his sight tugged backward; and he realized he was affected by this move , as thin blood-threads had already laced across his muscles, constricting him in place , just to allow Daigo time to retreat and recover from his assault.

“Hana, good job!” Daigo praised the girl who had stepped up to help, but Yama grunted and shifted into a Shaolin stance, pressure rippling from his body.

As the silver glow sent off sharp edges, rupturing and snapping the blood-threads around him, making Hana frown as she staggered backwards a few steps, it literally took a second before she could find her balance.

By the time Yama looked up again, he wasn’t just facing two opponents, but the whole of the Crimson Dawn Academy team , as stood around him, but funny enough they were all giving space and choosing not to interfere in the battle.

It was almost like they were also spectators; with many of them having their hands folded after taking care of the Vajra Academy team mages.

As Yama turned his gaze, he saw Raizo bent and pointing one of his broad knives at Omar’s belly. Omar was breathing heavily, lying on the ground, unable to lift a muscle, while the four mages around him interfered with the blood in his body to pin him down.

“Hey, Shaolin boy, if you don’t want me to cripple your teammate, just give up, look around you, the rest of your team has been fully defeated, and we didn’t even fight seriously,” Raizo said in a very calm tone, his expression hard to read.

Hearing this, Yama was about to speak, but Daigo spoke first.

“Hey, let me make it fair, if you can defeat me, every member of my team will give up.”

“Are you mad, Daigo? It’s almost three minutes; he’s close to breaking, why complicate things? I’m close to coming out on top,” Raizo said.

But as Daigo stood up once more, while inhaling the blood energy in the air.

Though this blood energy was almost invisible to the naked eye, however; the moment he inhaled it became visible as red hue gathered toward his nose, and after he drew it in, his body seemed to grow taller and heavier, like he was ready for a final clash with Yama.

However, Yama wasn’t looking at him; he was focused on Raizo, who still had a blade pointed at Omar.

“The Vajra Academy team gives up,” Yama said with a sigh, as the Ki coating his body faded.

“Ehhh!” Raizo was as surprised as Daigo; he’d expected Yama to be headstrong before yielding, the surrender came too easily.

Everyone watching was perplexed and unsatisfied with the ending, but Raizo’s smile widened as soon as he heard Yama concede, as he started feeling that at least he wouldn’t fall behind the School of Silent Night winning time.

“The winner of this round is the Crimson Dawn Academy,” the judge announced, and loud cheers rolled in from outside the stadium.

Immediately after the winners were announced, Alec stood and walked away, showing no interest in the upcoming matches, turning a corner, he ran into Vincent and Vladimir.

“And here I thought I was the only one getting bored with the display outside,” Vincent said with a small smile, as Alec leaned against the opposite wall with his arms crossed.

“I didn’t leave because I’m bored or because our kingdom’s other academies are performing poorly,” Alec replied.

“I left because I have an uneasy feeling I can’t quite place, as for the next match, I believe Gate Academy will lose to the Argent Guild, they have a very strong captain, hopefully the Holy Grail Academy and your team can give us some face quickly, because right now, as the host nation, we’re the laughingstock of the other kingdoms.” Alec continued.

“I guess I should bet on your predictions. Also, you didn’t mention your own team, are you that confident you can beat Ashmaw Academy with the same format you did in the last competition, as a one-man army?” Vladimir asked.

“Who says I have to do that?” Alec said.

“I don’t even think I’ll be needed for the fight, in a match like the next one, I’m not the one they need to watch out for.” Alec said as he pushed off the wall and continued down the corridor, leaving Vladimir and Vincent confused by his final words.

Only Alec understood what he meant, he wasn’t the threat the opposing team should be worried about.
