Chapter 991: Two Prince 4

This explosion clearly caught Aeron’s attention since he knew his teammates were involved, but it seems that was a costly mistake on his part, and Takeda didn’t hesitate to take full advantage of that, as he thrust his right hand forward.

[> Mid Tier Ninjutsu — Chakra Point Bomb <]

His index and middle finger snapped out, jabbing three pressure points on Aeron’s body before Aeron could even process what was happening, after the first strike, Aeron swiftly reacted and tried to evade the next two, but Takeda’s hands were a blur at that range.

So Aeron opted for something else when he realised evading was a myth, he then managed to shove him back after the third jab, but it was already too late, because not only had his two teammates been disqualified, he’d also lost his focus in the chaos which allowed Takeda to complete the setup he moved on.

“Explode,” Takeda said, raising both hands into a shinobi seal, after he realised that he had lost grounds to add more Point Bombs, immediately after he said those words a loud bang detonated through the arena.

Bang!!

It didn’t end there though, as two more explosions followed in rapid succession, causing Aeron to be thrown brutally through the air, crashing onto the cold ground several meters away.

Then, as if the battlefield itself exhaled, the smoke that had blanketed the ring began to thin and peel away after the explosion, restoring visibility for the low-rank mages that had been having a hard time watching through the heavy fog of smoke.

With the haze cleared, everyone could now see it clearly—

That three members of the Silent Night and Blade Clan lay sprawled on the ground, completely unconscious.

Immediately the judge’s assistants rushed in to lift them off the stage, like a bunch of lightning bolts, with the fallen removed, only the captains and vice-captains remained.

And seeing Aeron forcing himself upright, just made the crowd instinctively assume that the Blade Clan was the one slipping toward defeat.

“That hurt as fuck,” Aeron muttered at Takeda, who only shrugged, like it was expected, then Aeron turned sharply toward Kaelus.

“You have to be the most self-centered idiot I’ve ever met,” Aeron snapped.

“Seriously, you could’ve helped contain that. Or at least warned them. Even if you didn’t want to step in, did you really have to just stand there and watch them get eliminated that early?” Though he lashed out, Kaelus didn’t flinch at all to his words one bit but instead he lasted out back immediately.

“You have no right to question my actions, Aeron. I’ll do whatever I please, and for the record they chose to follow you in the first place, so why should I care about their welfare?”

“In the first place, I don’t even know why they made this final match a five-on-five, it should’ve been two versus two, because in the end, only the captain and vice-captain prowess matters, all other unimportant people always falls first” Kaelus said with a scoff.

He then stepped forward, and reached into the air to grip his katana and Aether Blade which were floating beside him, since his spear seems to be lost after it entered the void opened by Shin Jae-hyun.

“All I care about now is bringing down whoever stands in my path.”

“Ehh—there’s no need for you guys to fight, look around you, there’s more than enough opponents to go round.” Shin Jae-Hyun cut in, twirling the wired hook in his right hand, as the kunai fixed at the end hissed through the air with a sharp swoosh.

But Aeron didn’t even glance at him, his eyes stayed locked on Takeda instead.

“Don’t even try it, he’s mine.” Kaelus warned, already pushing forward towards Takeda, he had specifically moved like that as he didn’t want Aeron to charge forward before he did.

Aeron then dashed in, as he was unwilling to let Kaelus claim his target, and then his danger sense screamed, as he swiftly twisted left on instinct, snapping his short sword up.

Clang!

He watched as a kunai slammed into his blade passing by it with a hooked wire at its bottom.

“You’re mine for now!” Shin said, as he yanked hard on the wire.

But he didn’t just pull it back, his wrist curled in a vicious angle, like he meant to drive the kunai straight through Aeron.

Aeron dropped into a tight bend, letting the kunai skim just above his face, Shin yanked harder, forcing the wire to scrape off Aeron’s weapon before the kunai could snap back toward Shin’s hand, yet before it fully returned, Aeron surged forward with it, closing the gap in a heartbeat, as his right hand slashed out—

—and Shin shot the wire forward again, looping it around Aeron’s right wrist while he slid sideways to let the blade move just slightly beside him.

Aeron groaned as the pain tore through him, the wire bit deep, digging in like it wanted to carve him down to bone, the pain was so much that he let go of his weapons, those were no ordinary wires.

And there was already a long line of blood where the wire gripped his wrist, in one fluid motion, Shin gripped the kunai with his right hand and drove it toward Aeron’s neck—

—but Aeron snapped his left arm up, releasing his second short sword, and using his left hand to catch the kunai mid-thrust.

Shin is an assassin for the silent night but his eyes widened at this act, as Aeron had blocked the blade with his bare hand, the kunai pierced straight through his palm, the tip punching out the other side of his hands, yet he was still able to stop the blade short of reaching his throat, therefore avoiding a fatal strike by a hair.

Then, while Shin froze for that split second in surprise, something worse happened.

Aeron, who should’ve been howling in pain, clamped his left hand over Shin’s hooked arm, locking him in place, a smile cutting across his face.

“Finally got you,” Aeron said.

Then immediately began to form hand signs with his right hand that was bound by the wire—fast, precise.

[> Mid Tier Spell — Aura Blade First Form: Swift Dislocation <]

After casting the spell his two short swords that were lying on the ground began to glow with a light-green hue, a second later, they shot up, spinning at terrifying speed like twin helicopter blades.

The worst part?

They came at Shin from two different angles, Shin tried to wrench himself free, but Aeron’s grip didn’t budge.

Desperate, Shin yanked harder on the wire with his left hand, trying to dislocate Aeron’s wrist, hoping the pain would break his focus.

But all that dragging didn’t, as Aeron held on until the spinning blades reached him and carved in from both sides, they bit deep, ripping a scream out of Shin as the rotation shredded through flesh. Aeron controlled the edges carefully, keeping them from going too far, yet the pain was still savage, unbearable.

After five seconds, the swords lost their glow and dropped back to the ground, as their energy was spent.

But Aeron wasn’t done, and that was because Shin Jae-Hyun was still conscious, so Aeron dragged him closer, by maintaining that crushing clamp with his left palm.

Bang!

After dragging him closer, Aeron slammed his forehead into Shin’s face, knocking him unconscious on the spot, the moment he felt Shin go limp, he hauled him up and flung him off the stage.
