Chapter 1016: Legion’s Cybernetic Army 1.

Butcher stared hard at Number One, although he knew it was one of Legion’s summons, however; he couldn’t help feeling embarrassed when he realized that a summoned unit of a fellow main golem, had been able to enter the Captain rank.

Just thinking about it made his chest tighten, as it started to think that if its master, Alec delayed pushing him into the Tier 7 realm, and Legion’s summoned units reached Peak Tier 6 that he currently is in, then he would have nowhere to hide his face.

As they would be standing on the same level as him, as Golems with Captain rank status

He shook his head and tried to comfort himself, thinking that at least he could summon his own underlings, but they... they were just still summons of another main golem, so he felt he would still have an edge there against them... or so he thought.

Because when he turned to see how the other seven were containing the four Yetis, his eyes almost popped out of their sockets, because behind each of those seven golems stood ten other golems, each radiating a Peak Tier 4 aura.

“When did Legion’s summons gain the ability to summon their own minions?” Butcher muttered in disbelief, at that moment, he realized the only thing he had been using to secretly console himself had become completely meaningless.

“We’ll be needing your strength soon, so just coordinate with us,” Butcher heard Number One speak to him, and he turned just in time to see him twist the handle of his weapon as the chamber of the grenade launcher clicked back into place.

The launcher was fully reloaded and ready for re-action.

“Let’s do this,” Number One said.

The weapons in their hands hummed as an internal light ignited, runes carved along their frames flashed brightly.

“Number Four, clear the spot for us,” Number One commanded.

Numbers Four, Five, and Six immediately ordered their thirty golems summons to activate their shield special abilities, as they were trying to combine them together to cast a kind of array spell.

The golems linked hands together and rushed forward, and in an instant, massive light shields formed in front of each squad, wide enough to match the height and breadth of the Yetis.

Like this, all three squads advanced, and split into three with each squad picking and encroaching one each as three of the four Yetis were cornered, deliberately leaving the last one isolated, while completing a dome shield lock on the other three.

“Target acquired. Eliminate it,” One ordered as he pointed forward.

From behind him, Two, and Three, another thirty Peak Tier 4 golems emerged, each of them drawing out their own Nade launchers and immediately opened fire on the exposed Yeti.

If the previous round of attacks had been loud, then this one could only be described as thunderous, explosions erupted in rapid succession as they focused all their firepower on the isolated Yeti, which had been separated by the Tank-class cybernetic golems.

A deafening roar followed, it seemed they had irritated it more than they had injured it, but One’s objective had already been fulfilled, the summons were never meant to kill it outright as they didn’t have enough fire power clearly, so they only aimed to force it away from the others.

Enraged, the towering Yeti raised its massive club high into the air and slammed it down.

Causing a massive wave of frost and force exploded outward, and the thirty golems were hurled backward like broken toys. Several were crushed instantly, while those that survived were left mangled beyond recognition. Many were no longer in any condition to continue fighting.

But their mission had been accomplished.

Butcher, who had been watching everything unfold, suddenly noticed two golems marked with the numbers Seven and Eight at two opposite directions pointing out their weapons, in their hands were much longer versions of the strange weapons the rest were using(sniper rifles.).

Pa!

A sharp, piercing sound rang out.

The Yeti let out a furious howl.

Pa!

Another shot followed, and Butcher finally realized what was happening, they were both aiming for its knees, as they picked one knee each.

Though the Yeti tried to endure, however, its massive body shuddered with each impact, and on the fourth shot from both snipers, the damage was far greater than all previous three shot combined, as the Yeti’s kneecap shattered completely, forcing it to collapse to its knees while still roaring in defiance.

“Now!” One shouted.

In the next instant, he appeared beside the stunned Butcher, without giving him any time to react, One grabbed his right arm, spun once, and launched him straight into the air like a living projectile.

With the Yeti now on its knees, it was no longer as ridiculously tall as it looked, and its head was finally within reach, though it was still a towering entity even while kneeling, but the gap had been reduced enough to make an attack possible.

That was exactly why Number One had given Butcher the lift he believed would make his mission easier.

It was in mid-flight that Butcher finally understood their plan, as he reached behind his back, and unhooked his Lightning Axe, and began to spin it rapidly, building momentum and gathering lightning.

As the axe rotated, lightning particles in the air were drawn toward him, since the power was far stronger than before, perhaps because of his altitude.

Streaks of thunder even descended from above, striking his weapon as if it had become a conduit for the sky itself, the axe glowed with light-blue lightning, crackling violently.

As if that were not enough, Butcher directed the wind energy he had gathered and tamed around him towards his weapon, as it materialised just above the spinning axe, as a massive three-pronged wind blade, rotating like the blades of a helicopter and amplifying the destructive force.

Sensing the danger, the kneeling Yeti made one last desperate attempt to defend itself before its regeneration could take hold, as it swung its frost-covered club in a wide horizontal arc, aiming to swat Butcher out of the sky.

Butcher reacted instantly, as he punched forward with his left hand, detonating a small burst of mana to cast Air Slam.

The spell was weaker than usual due to the limited mana infused into it, but it served its purpose, as the recoil launched him upward just as the club swept beneath him.

He then landed briefly on the Yeti’s arm, dashed along it in a flash, and closed the distance to its face.

“Arrgh!”

Like a bolt of lightning, he surged forward, then he leapt high, while raising his axe overhead, and brought it crashing down onto the Yeti’s skull.
