Chapter 1043: Continuation.

He clearly hadn’t expected to see Gordons Clan mages in control of the City Hall. Terran wasn’t slow—just from this single scene, he could already tell that the city lord’s forces had failed in their attempt to annihilate the Gordons Clan.

Terran inhaled sharply, resting across his back was his Greatsword, he had definitely come prepared to fight his way through countless opponents if that was what it took to get Alec out of Estonia City, praying that nothing terrible had happened to him.

Yet, not even in his wildest dreams, would he have never imagined this outcome.

Not only was Alec completely safe, but from the state of the city, it was clear that the Gordons Clan had taken full control of the city temporarily.

“Are you not Alec’s master?” a voice called from behind him as he turned his back to the City hall looking around at the quiet city.

Terran turned and raised his head, coming face to face with the Fifth Elder of the Gordons Clan, who was calmly studying him.

“Yeah... yes,” Terran replied, almost reflexively repeating himself as he stepped forward, they exchanged brief pleasantries.

The aura of a high-rank mage descending from the skies from an Avian species had already alerted the Gordons Elders, who were keeping close watch over the entire city.

After taking control of Estonia City, they had placed it under strict surveillance, searching for any remaining remnants of the city lord’s army.

After a brief assessment, the Fifth Elder had confirmed Terran’s identity as Alec’s master, since he was familiar with him during his last stay in the clan, Terran then asked if Alec was presently in the City hall , and the elder nodded, confirming that he was.

Seeing that the clan was intact, Terran finally breathed a sigh of relief, though it seems there were still many issues troubling the clan about the city’s condition, all in all, he believed the Gordons Clan would be able to resolve everything in time.

Terran started to feel beyond his suspicion of the Gordons having hidden specialists in alchemy, forging, and rune inscription, another thought began to take shape in his mind, that perhaps there was some ancient ancestor, someone he didn’t know about—silently protecting the clan from the shadows, a presence he himself had been unable to sense.

He even started to believe that the sheer strength of this secretive elder should be greater than his own as that is the only reason he has not been able to out him yet, this new suspicion of his stuck to his mind making it hard for him to ignore.

In the end, it was because that was the only explanation he could come up with for the Gordons Clan’s sudden and overwhelming victory.

Eventually, he met with Alec, who apologized for leaving the way he did. Terran, however, couldn’t bring himself to scold him.

Because he understood perfectly why Alec had acted that way and was simply relieved that nothing serious had happened.

Afterward, Terran was given a cabin to stay in for the night within the Gordons Clan grounds, although many houses in both the inner and outer regions had been destroyed—including those normally reserved for guests—there were still a few that had escaped the battle untouched.

And since many clan members had yet to return after being evacuated from the city, plenty of the residences were unoccupied, so one of them was assigned to Terran.

He was admittedly curious and wanted to ask how the battle had truly unfolded, but he restrained himself, as such questions would tread dangerously close to the Gordons Clan’s secrets, and given that the clan was still willing to maintain a business relationship with the academy, he didn’t want to risk damaging that trust.

Instead, he decided he would gather his answers through the academy’s covert mages stationed in the city.

Meanwhile, Alec was reviewing the state of his golems, preparing to enter the Amulet World once more, this time with greater confidence than ever before.

All of Legion’s captain-ranked golems had successfully entered the Tier 6 realm.

Titan, meanwhile, had only two captains still at the peak of Tier 5 while the remaining eight had entered the peak Tier 6 realm, showing just how close he was to fielding a full Tier 6 captain squad.

And then there was Oni.

Alec had been genuinely surprised by his Shinigami Onis, as six of them had already stepped into the Tier 6 realm, albeit five were at low Tier 6 realm, but even so, their combat prowess was leagues beyond what they had been before.

Only the leader of the Shinigami, Kagetsume, had reached the peak of Tier 6, as for the rest, the experience had been deliberately spread out, with little concern for rushing them all to the peak.

They were fully aware that there simply weren’t enough opponents around to push all of them to the peak of the Tier 6 realm.

So instead of concentrating everything on advancing the next-in-command after Kagetsume to peak Tier 6, they chose a more efficient path, which was bringing every Shinigami Oni into the Tier 6 realm first.

After all, a single breakthrough from peak Tier 5 to low Tier 6 was far easier to achieve than forcing one individual all the way to the peak of Tier 6.

While it still required a significant amount of experience, it was far less costly and far more efficient than the alternative.

Now, Alec was preparing to enter the Amulet World once again, but not to push all of them fully into Tier 6.

This time, his main objective was the Hive Queen.

As he believed that he had delayed her advancement for far too long, and now that the opportunity had finally presented itself, he intended to push her into the next realm.

To Alec, this was the most critical step, the Hive Queen was the only main golem he possessed that could summon up to fifteen subordinate golems, while the others were limited to ten.

Once her evolution was complete, he planned to see whether he could also push any of his other main golems into the Tier 7 realm as well, for now, advancing his main golems into the Tier 7 realm mattered far more to him than increasing his own cultivation.

And since it would still take more than twenty hours for the Space Teleportation Array to be fully repaired, he decided this was the perfect time to focus on that goal instead of worrying about how his team would fare in their next battle.
