Chapter 1060: Patches And Beatrice 2.

But from what he was seeing, it clearly wouldn’t be easy, and now he was truly regretting underestimating the War God Mage Academy Team, as he started to feel if not for his big mouth earlier, he would have just simply summoned another main body and all these would have been all over.

“Water, leave the seal and get out of range,” Wind Takeda said.

“But—” Water Takeda was about to complain, but in the end he said nothing, as he began retreating backward while still keeping both his hands locked in the seal, he wanted to put a good distance between them before letting go, because he knew the moment he broke the seal, the compressed water prison that had been restraining Patches would collapse.

But as he tried to escape, Beatrice swung her hand outward, as barely visible mana threads spread through the air, seeing her make a move and not wanting to take any risks, he cast a spell blowing out from his mouth.

[> Low Ninjutsu Spell – Ice Mist. <]

As he activated it, a cold mist spread outward from his lips into the air, normally, this wasn’t a spell that made much difference at his current realm, but that wasn’t his goal.

What he really wanted was to distinguish where Beatrice’s mana threads were located, and when the mist spread, it revealed them immediately, as thin white lines began appearing in the air as the icy particles clung to the threads like magnets after spreading in the air before him.

He quickly realised the mana strings were already surrounding him, and all that remained was for her to tighten her grip, with danger so close, he couldn’t afford to keep holding Patches in place.

His fingers separated, breaking the seal he had been maintaining with such effort.

The compressed water currents restraining Patches instantly collapsed to the ground once his hands came apart. Meanwhile, Beatrice, who had slid sideways out of Patch’s way, dragged her threads sharply through the air.

Now, with the ice mist hanging in the air, her mana threads became far more visible, though they weren’t completely clear, but everyone could now see the faint white strings suspended across the battlefield, all leading back to a single point — her fingers, which seemed to be controlling well over fifty separate thread positions at once, they keep wondering just where the mana strings were anchored to for it to work the way Beatrice was using them but no matter how much they strained their thoughts they were still unable to come up with anything.

With a forceful yank, she pulled backward with both hands, as the threads that had been floating loosely suddenly converged at incredible speed.

And it just so happened that the one standing at the central point where those strings were about to close in... was the Water Takeda.

“Fuck!” the Water Takeda cursed, shaking his body slightly so his weapon could slide free from his chest, he immediately grabbed one end of the chain with his right hand immediately it started coming off, pouring both his mana and Qi into it , especially an excess amount of his Qi, using it to sharpen the edge of the Kusarigama sickle for what he intended to do next.

He whipped the weapon around himself in a tight arc, as the energized chain sliced through several visible threads he could see at once, forcing an opening. Without hesitation, he retreated.

But just as he retreated, his danger senses screamed, not knowing exactly where the next strike would come from, he dropped low into a knee slide.

As he started to feel something with tremendous pulling force sliced past his face, grazing his cheek.

Pain flared instantly as he could feel his blood pouring, but he ignored it, as he slid he used the momentum to bend his head towards the opposite direction, he then saw Beatrice drawing her left hand back, and he could tell that it was the very motion of that hand that must had tightened the threads enough to nearly carve into his face.

If he hadn’t bent when he did, even he knew that the damage would have been far worse. Still, that didn’t matter now, the important thing was that he had regained distance.

[> Mid Shinobi Spell – Wind Slam. <]

The moment he cleared the immediate danger zone, the Wind Takeda acted without waiting for any signal, from high above, he thrust both palms downward, as a crushing wave of wind pressure started to gather around his hand waiting to descend instantly on intent.

Beatrice reacted at once, stretching her hand toward the wooden puppet which was still frozen near the center of the stage.

“Come here!” she shouted, dragging her hands sharply through the air, though many of the lower-rank mages couldn’t clearly see what she had done, but some mid-rank mages with stronger mental perception had caught it, she had swept her mana threads in a straight line, and they latched onto the frozen wooden spider almost like they had magnetic magic imbued to them not even removing as she yanked that hard.

The ice anchoring the puppet to the ground began cracking slowly before snapping apart, the massive wooden spider shifting back toward its original position.

Beatrice then dashed forward at the same time, sliding in the final moment before the Wind Takeda’s attack fully descended, from the height where the Wind Takeda floated, the air gathered densely around his hands, compressing into a terrifying downward force.

Bang!!!!

The stage seemed to sink under the pressure, debris blasted outward, dust lifting violently as the lower stands closest to the arena were hit by powerful gusts, even spectators far away could feel the oppressive wind.

Beatrice had tried to use the frozen wooden spider puppet as a buffer against the incoming force, but when the Wind Slam fully landed and the massive puppet slammed into her, she couldn’t stop herself from coughing out a mouthful of blood.

Patches fared slightly better, the shockwave forced him down to one knee, but despite the crushing pressure, he refused to collapse completely.

His stitched body trembled as he struggled against the weight bearing down on him.

At the edge of the battlefield, the Water Takeda calmly raised one hand, and a bow formed from condensed water in his grip, its surface shimmering with icy mana, and he drew the string back with his second hand, as a water arrow manifested instantly, pulsing with dense power.

He released it, but he didn’t stop there as he drew again, and again.

He ended up shooting four shots in rapid succession, each aimed at a different vital point.

Under normal circumstances, Patches might have dodged or intercepted them, but under the lingering pressure of the Wind Slam, his movement was severely restricted, he could only brace his different muscles as the arrows struck.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

Each impact carried not only crushing force but intense freezing energy, wherever an arrow struck, ice spread rapidly across his body, it wasn’t gradual, it raced outward aggressively, locking joints and stiffening movement.

His shoulders were hit first, as frost crawled across them instantly, making it difficult for him to lift his main arms.

Then the last two arrows were directed at his legs which weren’t kneeling, as the freezing energy spread instantly on impact, locking his lower limbs in place, with both his shoulders and legs frozen over, Patches finally lost his balance completely under the pressure, and as the Wind Slam reached its peak force, his entire body was driven violently into the ground.

[> Mid Ninjutsu Spell – Second Move – Swirling Tornado <]

After finally forcing Patches down, Patches seemed to blanked out from the strain as his eyes turned completely black, while above them, the Wind Takeda who was still levitating began slowly rotating his hands.

Immediately, the compressed wind below responded, as air currents twisted violently around Patches’ fallen body, forming a tight swirling vortex that lifted debris and fragments from the shattered stage.

It almost looked as if the winds were mirroring the exact motion of his hands, spiraling faster and tighter with every turn, wrenching Patches’ body within the miniature tornado.
