Chapter 1110: Ways Of The Sword 2.

Behind Alec, the image of a flickering bestial figure shimmered into view, seemingly wreathed in flames, making it difficult for anyone to fully discern what kind of beast stood behind him.

A thin layer of flaming aura also covered Alec’s body.

Seeing Alec take things this seriously, Takeda also slipped into a battle stance, as he bent slightly low and swung his katana through the air in a swift motion before bringing it down toward his left waist, positioning it there as if preparing for a quick draw, behind his back too was a shadowy figure flickering there.

At this point, the two mages were not the only ones waiting, all the spectators were just as eager to see how it would unfold, their eyes fixed on the two men who would ultimately decide how this competition ended.

Around Alec and Takeda, small pebbles began to rise into the air due to the gravity distortion that was being developed from having two earth elemental mages together like that with a lot of tension, and as if they had both of them had come to the same silent agreement, they both dashed toward each other at exactly the same time.

Both mages swung their weapons horizontally. Takeda’s blade carried a flaming glow, and it was clear he could have used any element he wanted, but he seemed intent on mirroring Alec, whose blood blade was also cloaked in a flaming aura, almost like he wanted to show who was better.

But the moment they crossed, Takeda realized he had gained no advantage at all, and from the corner of his eye, as their weapons clashed, he saw something else, Alec was already letting go of his own weapon.

The moment he realized Alec was planning something, Takeda decided to make the first decisive move and end it, as he pushed himself backward by tapping his right foot against the ground, releasing a strange pulse that repelled him and helped him create distance.

Alec, seeing this, still kept his right hand extended forward, with his index and middle fingers, coated with a trace of his Qi, as they moved through the air, and his blood sword responded to those motions, shifting according to the direction of his fingers.

So even after moving away and seeing that Alec was unrelenting and had no intention of letting him go, since the blood sword kept following him, Takeda poured enough power into his own blade and swung out.

That strike sent both his katana and Alec’s Bloodlust sword flying far away from him, without stopping, he raised his right hand outward as if performing a claw attack, and in the next instant, a massive dragon head made of pure earth rose from the ground towards Alec.

Seeing the earth dragon’s head lunge toward him, Alec immediately started backpedaling as well, pushing himself backward with a gravity pulse.

Boom!

The ground where he had once stood caved in as the dragon slammed its heavy head into it, however; that brief opening was enough for Alec to blast himself into the air, using the underside of his feet like fire boosters.

While airborne, dark ash-like smoke appeared before his hands, and within a split second, he manipulated it and changed the shape, now he was holding two black axes, which he hurled toward Takeda one after the other.

Takeda, who was already running toward him using his Earth dragon neck, stretched out his left hand and summoned his battle axe, which flew through the air to find him. After he got his weapon he swung it twice to deflect the two black axes Alec had sent flying at him.

However, the moment his weapon clashed against them, instead of being deflected, they burst back into smoke form, that left him perplexed—but not for long.

As Alec had also already landed on the long neck of the earth dragon while he stretched out his left palm and made a grabbing motion, instantly the black ash around Takeda suddenly gathered together and formed a giant fist that gripped him by the neck.

Then Alec pulled his left hand backward, In response, Takeda was yanked back toward him.

From Takeda’s side, worry finally began to creep in. Every attack he tried to make seemed to get redirected or read on time, and Alec always found some strange, unexpected way to launch another attack, in ways he had no response for.

At this moment, he found himself unable to break apart the hand gripping his neck. He, who is a Tier 8 mage, was unable to break free, so right then and there, he discarded the attitude of believing that he was above Alec and decided to fight with the instinct to survive, just as he always had to whenever he faced the Kage of Silent Night.

While Alec’s left hand remained in perfect control of the black ash arm, his right was already prepared for what was to come, covered in fur all the way to the elbow, his claws glowing with a blackish-red light, that glow was accompanied by an unbearably intense heat.

Everyone in the crowd could tell what Alec was trying to do. His right hand was positioned so that his werewolf claws, now radiating dangerous heat after being coated with both of his flame affinities, would pierce straight through Takeda’s neck.

At the second VIP level, the leaders of all the major institutions could hardly believe what they were witnessing. Yes, when the members of the Silent Night Academy had been taken out, it had brought a certain level of surprise, but it wasn’t enough to make them truly restless.

Even the Kage of Silent Night had not flinched, that was how much faith he had in Takeda. To him, Takeda was a team of his own, and he had been more than confident they could still win.

But then, one by one, Takeda’s avatar bodies began to die. After that, he started devouring their cores to reach this level of power, and when he finally erupted with the aura of a Tier 8 mage, many in the crowd believed it would all end soon.

Though he seemed to have risen to the Low Tier 7 realm after partially transforming parts of his body like a werewolf, however the Kage of the Silent Night still believed that with his current visible realm it was still far too low for Alec to be able to compete with Takeda.
