[As lord of the city, the destruction of the City Heart would revoke your status as a lord and all access that comes with it. You can access different things pertaining to your city through the City Heart.]

After his group had fused their lord tokens into his cube, his town leveled up, though after the fifth person, the points gained dropped by a large margin.

Even so, Alec now started to feel deeply connected to the multiple lands that should be under their control, though he knows it’s now his, but knowing and feeling were two very different things.

It was almost as if he could control what happened in those territories from where he stood, without wasting time, he sent a mental command to the cube, asking to see the layout of lands now under his control.

It was one of the many things he had learned from the information his City Heart had poured into his mind, the cube floated slightly upward, and a complete layout of the surrounding lands appeared before them.

It was almost like they were viewing everything from a sky-view.

“So that’s where my land is located?” Arthur said, pointing toward one of the nearby territories. After that, the other six pointed out theirs as well, looking at the state of the buildings in their lands, Alec couldn’t help shaking his head.

Because just like his own settlement, the other lands too were in terrible condition.

On the layout screen of the territories under his control, he noticed something called Shop, and he used his mind to communicate with his City Heart, not wanting his siblings to know that his cube could now talk.

He knew the Cubes were not supposed to be able to speak, the fact that his could clearly speak had something to do with his system’s reprogramming.

“Baby X, is this shop directly linked to my main system?”

“Yes and no, Master, you should have been able to accomplish all this yourself, but it would have taken a lot of time, along with a proper workforce, which we currently do not have, considering the state of our population.”

“So the main system helped improve that after changing my programming, and since I’m connected to the main system, I can collect system points as payment to help you accomplish all of this without stress and in a far more optimal time,” his City Heart explained, sending the reply to him through voice transmission.

“Hmmm...” Alec sighed when he realized there was no escaping the system’s influence—or its habit of draining him.

“Okay then, there’s no helping it, pass all the information about how this works to me,” Alec said as he placed his fingers on the cube, it only took a few seconds, yet Alec already understood the general idea of what it meant.

The system had reorganized a separate function that could help him turn his city into the strongest, after all the information was downloaded into his mind, he couldn’t help smiling, because the system had basically turned the City Heart’s functions into a base-building strategy game system.

And since he had system points that could create something from nothing by drawing on origin energy, it really wasn’t that much of a problem.

“Alec, what happened? You spaced out for a while,” Brandon questioned. In fact, everyone looked surprised by what had just happened.

Even the old man standing near the entrance of the throne room had a concerned expression on his face, because he clearly didn’t want anything happening to the one lord who had actually decided to stay and build this city of theirs that had been abandoned for so long.

“Don’t worry, old man, I’ll be fine. What is your name?” Alec asked.

“Iroh,” the old man answered swiftly.

“Don’t worry. I’ll be addressing my citizens soon, just tell them to wait a little,” Alec said as he flew outside, with the cube following behind him, seeing Alec move like that, the other seven immediately followed, and before long, he was in the air, looking down at the entirety of his land.

“Open layout,” Alec said as he decided to try out one of the new things he could do due to his system meddling just to help make things easy for him.

The cube rose slightly into the air before him, and a beam of light shone down from its base, as the layout of his primary land and all the other seven now under him appeared once again, while he opened the store linked to his system’s power.

Another screen unfolded at the side, and he navigated through all the items there straight to the wall section.

On the screen, all he could see was a miniature stone wall, he then tapped on it, then dragged his hand through the air, pulling the wall from the interface toward the layout of the lands under his control.

The reason Alec was going with this first was simply because despite how large his lands were, none of them had gates or anything that could serve as a line of defense.

If they were to be attacked by the High Orcs any moment now—as Alec believed they might be after hearing what the old man had told him about their conquest to expand into human territory—he believes it would be far too easy for them.

All they would have to do was walk straight into the city and start slaughtering his citizens, and since citizens clearly seem to hold great importance in this world, Alec had already decided he would do everything in his power to protect his own.

Using his left hand, he dragged the wall across the display until he finally positioned it at the front of his small town, which was somehow called a city for whatever reason.

Bang!

A commotion broke out the instant he finished.

Even Alec had to lift his head and look forward, those beside him, who had been watching him tap and move things in midair, were completely stunned, though they also possessed systems, unlike Alec’s, theirs only showed their status, and their City Hearts likely couldn’t even leave their castles.

But Alec’s own cube was hovering right beside him, which only made them feel even more certain that following him had been the right choice.

“It really is like one of those kingdom-building strategy games,” Alec muttered as he stared at the sturdy thirteen-foot stone wall that had fallen out of nowhere and appeared right at the front of the town.

The way it had sunk deep into the earth made it look as though it had always been there.

One by one, his people began turning toward the castle, because they all believed this had to be the handiwork of their new lord.

And just as they had suspected, there he was, levitating in midair. However, he was only just getting started, the stone walls cost merely a hundred system points, something Alec could part with easily without putting even the slightest dent in his reserves.

So, within the next two minutes, he spent his points creating more stone walls around the layout before him.

By then, he had already come to an important understanding: whatever he did on the layout of the lands under his control would happen in reality, and whatever he bought from the store and placed into that layout would materialize in the real world.

That was why he didn’t hold back.

Before long, his primary town, which he already planned to make his capital was completely enclosed by towering stone walls, with a massive gate standing at the front.

The people below, and even his siblings nearby, who had long believed they were beyond being surprised by anything Alec did, could only stare with their mouths hanging open, unable to make sense of what they were witnessing.
