Hunter might have been strong, but going against a Tier 8 mage meant he had to go all out, after the deaths of his subordinate golems, he could no longer afford to hold back, which was why he had summoned his Astra image.Unlike Hunter, however, Dave was unwilling to risk suffering soul injuries, as fighting with one’s Astral image is the easiest way to getting soul injuries, his main objective was to inflict massive damage on the City Heart so that, even if he failed to capture the city, he would still be able to cripple its functions for a while.
Such damage would take a long time to repair unless the main lord possessed enough Origin Essence Crystals to restore it to its prime condition.
However, Dave did not believe Alec had the number of crystals required to heal the City Heart if he managed to damage it.
Still, after everything he had seen Alec accomplished in this city, Dave was no longer completely confident in his earlier assumption, because there was always a chance that Alec possessed another unknown method of hastening the repair process.
This was merely one of the contingency plans Dave and his brother had prepared in case things did not go the way they wanted.
They would do everything they could to damage the City Heart. That way, Alec would be unable to appoint anyone as the lord of this city for some time.
They highly believed that a failed attack would force Alec to make decisions that would strengthen the defenses of his newly conquered cities, so this might be their only opportunity to cripple one of the city hearts.
However, even with that plan in mind, Dave had been unable to get past Hunter, who did not care how much damage he suffered as long as he could stop the human mage before him.
The whale behind Hunter continued inhaling deeply, and not only was Hunter able to cancel Dave’s elemental attacks with his anti magic sword that was now covered in anti matters, he was also able to make every spell Dave cast feel much weaker, but the whale was also constantly drawing all the elemental particles in the air into its stomach.
Its stomach seemed like a bottomless mana pit, while using the absorbed energy to replenish Hunter as a result of his actions, literally due to its actions the entire area had been stripped of elemental particles.
It was almost as though the throne room and everything surrounding it had been transformed into a forbidden zone, a place completely unsuitable for cultivation, and no spell casting.
However, that was not all.
It also meant that Dave could no longer continuously empower his attacks or maintain the mana armor he had been using to conceal his appearance.
Though he was a Tier 8 mage, which meant he could generate mana much faster than normal, however while inside Hunter’s grey and eerily domain, he seemed to be losing a considerable amount of mana every second.
And now, with that massive anti-magic whale formed from grey matter swallowing all the elemental particles in the surroundings and leaving nothing for him to absorb to replenish himself, Dave was forced to reevaluate his options.
Especially with another dangerous figure like Connor already unsheathing his sword.
“I guess this is my cue to make a run for it. We’ll meet again another time, though,” Dave said as a space stone appeared on his hand and he crushed it immediately.
In the next moment, a spatial portal appeared behind him and swallowed him whole before disappearing as if it had never existed; after seeing that his troublesome opponent had escaped, Hunter finally canceled the summoning of his Astra Image.
The anti-magic whale broke apart into countless particles before merging back into his body.
“Shit!” Connan cursed as he dashed toward Hunter, who had already fallen to one knee.
The glow around Hunter’s body had dimmed considerably, it also made him look like he was referencing a mage who had used a forbidden technique and lost a large portion of his life force.

At the city Saint was defending, things were progressing very differently from what Daniel had expected, after the death of the human lord who had been one of the few who offered support in taking Alec down, the warrior order that had come with that lord began looking at Daniel in an entirely different light.
After all, they had personally watched him use their lord as a shield, because of that, a few of them immediately turned against him, some of them clashed with Daniel’s warriors, while others seized the opportunity to flee after realizing that the battle had already been lost.
However, before escaping, they made sure to carry away the body of their dead lord.
As for those who stayed behind to attack Daniel’s forces and buy time for the others to escape, they were all annihilated.
After all, they were going against an entire team of mid-rank warriors.
However, with the opportunity created by the infighting among them, the sword golems were able to join in on the fun, cutting down several of Daniel’s warriors through sneak attacks.
Meanwhile, Saint circled Daniel, waiting for him to draw his blade and come at him. One of his swords rested casually across his shoulder, while he stretched the other forward and gestured for Daniel to attack.
Infuriated by the golem’s actions, Daniel was about to dash forward when he suddenly saw a beam of light erupt from the city’s castle, the beam shot straight into the sky, illuminating the entire city.
Daniel recognized that light immediately, it was the light of a teleportation formation.
At that exact moment, he received a transmission from his brother, warning him to retreat if he had not yet taken control of the city.
After hearing his brother’s warning, Daniel concluded that whatever had arrived through the teleportation beam was most likely the reason his brother had ordered him to retreat.
Without wasting any time, he called for his army to withdraw.
However, Daniel himself was not planning to retreat alongside them. He intended to crush his teleportation stone and escape immediately.
Although it pained him that his captain-rank warriors were already dead, as he believed if he was still alive then many of his remaining soldiers would still be able to escape and return to his kingdom due to their leadership.
But right now, he was not even certain how many of them would make it back alive.
Daniel gritted his teeth in anger as he thought of his captain rank warriors that he had already lost, they had carefully made their plans and believed they would be able to counter anything Alec placed before them, but everything that had happened here was completely outside their calculations.
“We shall meet again,” Daniel said as he brought the stone closer to himself and crushed it, in that split second, Saint finally realized that Daniel was attempting to escape through space and immediately dashed toward him.
But Saint knew clearly that he would not be able to reach Daniel in time.
However, as he dashed forward, he suddenly felt something flutter past him, stirring the wind in its wake.
A crossbow bolt shot past Saint and struck Daniel directly just before the portal swallowed him.
Daniel immediately coughed out blood at that moment, with only milliseconds remaining before he was teleported away, he raised his head and desperately tried to catch a glimpse of the person who had shot him.
That was when he saw the Amazon Archer Queen dropping down from the top of a tall building.
She was completely clad in a new spirit equipment armor set that looked more like a wonder woman setting, with a massive crossbow held firmly in her hands. Her eyes glared intently at Daniel while her Qi covered the entire weapon.
