Chapter 1910 strange guest

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

"Lord Robin, we need to talk!"

"...?" Robin's soul sense immediately swept outward, picking up a group of people standing in front of the apartment. At their forefront stood Althera-and judging by her expression, she was clearly not in a good mood. "Tsk... Why is this day refusing to end?"

Then-whoosh--with a simple, almost casual wave of his hand, the arrays were dismantled one after another, and the door opened. Robin straightened slightly and stood there with a smile overflowing with courtesy and respect. "The Monarch herself visiting my humble apartment? I'm truly honored beyond words!"

Step.

Althera entered without offering a single additional word. As usual, she carried her small sword in her left hand. Almost instantly, she swept the entire apartment with both her spiritual sense and her large, observant eyes. Curiosity filled them-especially since she had tried more than once to pierce the arrays with her senses earlier... and failed every time.

Unfortunately, the place really did look exactly like a researcher's headquarters.

A desk buried under scattered papers, metal plates, and wooden boards, with several small piles of drawing tablets stacked carelessly beside it.

And then, to the side-"Hmm?" Althera frowned slightly, her brows knitting together. "Why is there a soul creature drawing patterns on the floor?"

"I ask myself the very same question every single day!" Arkalon stopped what he was doing and looked toward Robin in exasperation. "Why won't you let me live peacefully like the rest of your soul creatures? Was I destined to work whether I'm alive or dead?!"

"Shhh!" Robin waved him away as if shooing an annoying chicken, then turned back to Althera with a strained, apologetic smile. "I sometimes need extra hands, so I bring out a few creatures to help me. Please don't concern yourself with what you see here." He paused politely. "Now then, is there anything I can assist you with, Your Majesty?"

"Yes!" Althera extended her right hand, her expression serious and unyielding. "Give me one hundred billion Pearls."

The words entered Robin's right car, failed to register in his mind, and passed straight out of his left as though nothing had been said at all. After a brief pause, he calmly extended his hand and shook Althera's with solemn formality. "You have very soft skin, my lady. Would you like something to drink?"

"What is wrong with you?! Have you completely lost your mind?!" Althera yanked her hand back instantly, a faint but unmistakable blush appearing on her cheeks.

"And what exactly did I do?" Robin began defending himself, sounding genuinely confused. "You're the one who extended your hand, and I simply-"

He abruptly cut himself off. "...Hmm?"

Step.

Only then did he remember-there had been several people outside, not just Althera. And at that very moment, all of them entered.

There were ten in total, all clad in black armor without helmets. However, Robin instantly distinguished the differences among them by their auras and the subtle details in their armor design... two were Shadow Swords, and the remaining eight were imperial guards.

"We greet His Majesty," they said in unison, bowing deeply.

At the center of this formation stood one figure-or rather, one thing- completely wrapped in a black sheet covered in intricate runic patterns. Nothing beneath it was visible, and no aura leaked from it whatsoever, as though it were a void.

"What is going on here?" Robin asked, pointing toward the center. "And who-or what-is that?"

"Your Majesty," one of the Shadow Swords replied with a respectful bow, "Marshal Sakaar ordered us to deliver this package here and to ensure it is handed to you personally."

"Sakaar?!" Robin froze for a brief moment in shock. He then shot a sideways glance toward Althera before gesturing for the group to retreat. "Alright, alright. Wait for me downstairs. Once I'm finished with the lady here, I'll come down to you."

What could Sakaar possibly be sending him at a time like this? The thing was completely covered, yet a few unmistakable features could still be discerned: it had two legs it stood upon, and a single sharp horn protruding from its head, making the top of the sheet rise into a pointed shape.

Had that bastard really sent him a demon here?!

If Althera -who had spent her entire life battling the Plague- were to realize that one of those creatures was here, it was extremely difficult to imagine what her reaction would be.

"Understood."

They immediately closed in around the object at the center, forming a tight circle as they began pulling it backward once more, clearly intent on removing it from the room as quickly as possible.

"Wait."

Althera released a fraction of her aura. It wasn't violent, nor explosive-but it was overwhelming. In an instant, the movements of the ten slowed as if they were wading through invisible pressure. She then turned calmly toward Robin, her gaze sharp. "You've been under my protection for centuries. I know nearly everything about you. And yet now, you intend to hide the secret of this person beneath a black cloak-from me?" Her lips curved slightly. "That only makes me more curious."

"Oh, that's a trivial matter not befitting your status, Your Majesty," Robin replied casually, spreading his hands as if dismissing the topic altogether. "It's most likely just a war captive... or perhaps someone they want me to conduct a few experiments on.

Why should we sully your hearing with such nonsense, or offend your sight with such filth?" He stepped aside as he spoke, gesturing toward the bed. Realizing how inappropriate that was, he quickly redirected his hand toward the desk chair instead. "Please, please let us hear what you came for. After that, I'll deal with those insignificant matters."

"Oh?"

Althera's brows lifted slightly, and a strange, unreadable smile appeared on her face. "That only makes my curiosity grow!"

She turned toward the group behind her, and with a sharp whoosh, Althera unleashed her power-stripping the cloak away in a single motion.

Shaaa Shaaa Shaaa

The imperial guards who had been frozen only moments earlier- reacted

instantly. One after another, weapons slid free from their restraints. Their eyes shone sharply, bodies tense, ready to clash at a moment's notice to protect the

mission at all costs.

The killing intent leaking from them was so dense that even Althera was momentarily surprised.

Hadn't they clearly felt her power? Did they truly intend to fight-even knowing the vast, unbridgeable gap between them?!

"...!!"

Robin shot them a sharp glare and signaled firmly for them to lower their

weapons.

Then he shook his head, conceding inwardly.

Althera was a Monarch who wielded a Major Fundamental law... eight imperial guards? Even eight thousand wouldn't be enough to stop her.

Claaash

The black cloak flew aside in the next instant.

What was revealed beneath it made Althera's large eyes widen to their absolute

limit. "Good heavens... what is that thing?"

The creature was unnaturally pale-its skin a pristine, milky white. It looked soft, almost gelatinous, smooth like polished flesh, yet laced with vivid crimson veins that stretched across its body in deliberate, unnatural patterns. Its physique was roughly human-sized, but nothing about it felt human. Scattered fragments of crimson armor clung to parts of its body, and certain features immediately stood out-most notably its deep-red nails. Rounded like those of a human, yet unmistakably dense and sharp, they looked capable of carving straight through iron.

And of course, it was impossible to look away from the single eye set at the center of its face. That lone eye stared at Althera and Robin with raw confusion and unmistakable fear. Above it rose a crimson horn, sharp and menacing,

crowning its head.

There were other, grimmer details as well. One of its arms had been severed cleanly at the shoulder. The remaining arm was bound tightly against its abdomen. Signs of rushed healing marked a wound on its upper stomach, and another deep cut ran horizontally across its neck. It was painfully obvious that this creature had only just survived a battle it had nearly died in.

Robin slowly examined the being from head to toe, his gaze lingering as his emotions shifted visibly-shock, disbelief, tension, and something far deeper flickering across his face.

Finally, he spoke, his voice low and strained.

"...Leosar?"
