On the other side of the planet-At that very moment, there stood a handsome young man with brown hair that flowed down to his shoulders, fair and unblemished skin, and a clean-shaven face, his features calm and composed as he stared forward with a steady gaze that betrayed neither panic nor hesitation, his golden armor gleaming faintly even under the dimmed sky where the sun had long been obscured by ash and smoke, and in his hand rested a massive bow drawn with quiet precision, as though he were preparing to bring down a legendary beast that dared approach his domain.
Unlike his usual self, Pitsu, the young man who had served Lord Human for nearly two centuries, appeared unusually imposing today, his entire presence radiating a restrained yet overwhelming pressure, as if everything around him was subtly bending under the weight of his power, as if the very air near him carried a dense, invisible tension that warned others not to approach...
Except for one thing.
His eyes.
They were broken.
Not physically, but in spirit.
A deep sadness lingered within them, a quiet heaviness that could not be hidden, his pupils reflecting the dangerous and chaotic scene unfolding before him, as though he had already seen too much, endured too much, and
understood too clearly what was about to happen.
Before him, a massive battle raged.
Dozens of World Cataclysm existences clashed in violent bursts of power, while thousands of elite squads from both sides collided again and again, their movements tearing apart the battlefield with relentless intensity, the ground trembling under the weight of their clashes, the sky flashing with streaks of destructive energy.
That, in itself, was nothing unusual.
Such scenes were expected on a planet like this.
What was not normal-
Was the direction of the battle.
The enemy was winning on this front.
Reinforcements had arrived for them without warning, a large force that suddenly entered the battlefield and immediately shifted the balance, and since that moment they had been advancing without pause, pressing forward with a ferocity that refused to slow, refused to retreat, refused even the slightest hesitation.
It was only a matter of time before they broke through this defensive line. And if they did-
Pitsu calmly turned his head and glanced behind him, his expression unchanged even as his thoughts grew heavier.
Behind him lay the medical zone.
A place where every injured soldier from across the planet was brought for treatment.
A place filled with groans, urgency, and fragile hope.
Nearby stood the headquarters of the blacksmiths, tirelessly repairing damaged weapons and armor, their furnaces burning day and night without rest.
There were also stations for Royal Soul Masters, individuals responsible for implanting soul borrowings into important figures to keep them alive and combat-ready.
Facilities for repairing paper talismans and metallic constructs.
Warehouses filled with food, supplies, and necessities.
Even basic infrastructures like sanitation systems existed here.
Everything required to keep the war machine running.
Yet-
This was not a command center.
There was no central leadership here.
No strategic headquarters.
The main command structure was located far away, and the docking ports for fleets were positioned at distant orbital points.
In the grand scheme of the war, this location was not critical.
If it were destroyed, it would certainly disrupt operations, forcing several fronts to retreat temporarily while a replacement base was established.
But it would not decide the final outcome of the war.
And yet-
The area was surrounded by layers upon layers of defensive arrays, all operating automatically against any intruding enemy.
These arrays had already killed countless attackers.
Without them, this zone would have fallen more than fifteen minutes ago.
Illusion arrays that distorted perception.
Time-delay arrays that interfered with movement.
Targeting arrays that locked onto intruders with precision.
Execution arrays designed purely to kill.
And countless other formations developed by the geniuses of Sky Opening City,
all built upon a foundation personally laid by His Majesty himself.
So why?
Why would anyone choose to attack this place?
What could they possibly gain?
Even if they forced a retreat today, the army would simply reorganize and
reclaim the ground tomorrow.
Was it merely symbolic?
To claim that the forces of the Cradle Empire had been pushed back?
Pitsu returned his gaze forward, anger slowly rising within him as his calm
expression hardened.
"How pathetic can you possibly be...?"
Ever since Pitsu had broken through and become the second Nexus State
within his family, the weight of responsibility placed upon him had grown
immensely.
Today, he stood as the commander of this entire region.
Under his authority were multiple Nexus State cultivators, numerous World Cataclysm existences, and thousands upon thousands of elite soldiers.
And yet-
Was it possible...
That this logistical zone would fall under his watch?
He had proudly declared himself a servant of Lord Human ever since the
rumors began spreading across the sector.
He had never hidden it.
Never denied it.
How could a servant of Lord Human allow the empire to be humiliated while he
still lived and breathed?
"I will fall before you do!!"
Pitsu raised his bow, pulling the string back as a massive arrow of energy
rapidly condensed between his fingers, layers of power compressing into a single point that radiated destructive force, before he released it in one smooth
motion-
Swoooosh
The arrow tore through the air at incredible speed.
A Nexus State opponent narrowly evaded it at the final moment, his body twisting sharply as he descended toward the ground, landing among several
soldiers clad in black and gray armor.
Zzzzn
The arrow did not explode.
Instead, it released a burst of lethal sonic waves that spread outward in all
directions, covering dozens of meters and striking everything within its range without discrimination.
"Pitsu..." the man who had just avoided the attack lifted his head slowly, locking eyes with the brown-haired youth, a mocking smile forming on his lips, "Hehe... it doesn't suit you to be a Nexus State."
His voice carried ridicule.
"Never in history has a Nexus State openly called himself a servant. At the very
least, you could have dressed it up a little, called yourself an assistant, an aide,
something more respectable..."
His expression twisted with disdain.
"You've dragged our reputation into the dirt, you pathetic servant."
"Silence!!"
Anger erupted across Pitsu's face as he surged forward withot hesitation, his
body cutting through the air with explosive speed, unwilling to waste even a
moment in words.
Even if his opponent was a mid-level Nexus State...
If he could kill him-
Or even delay him- Then perhaps he could hold this line long enough for reinforcements to arrive.
Even if it cost him everything.
Even if it cost him his life-
The army of His Majesty's empire would not retreat because of him.
No matter what.
And he had already used the interstellar communication ring to summon the
nearest Note-4 fleet from the depths of space, sending out an urgent signal the moment he realized the situation was beginning to slip beyond control... Unfortunately, if those fleets had been stationed around the planet from the
start, the enemy would never have dared to attempt such a despicable and underhanded assault in the first place.
But those were the Marshal's orders-
As long as the enemy had not committed their fleets, the Note-4 fleets would
not enter the battlefield either, in order to avoid causing irreversible devastation to the planet... or worse, annihilating it entirely under the sheer scale of their firepower.
"A long-range weapon user stepping into close combat personally? Haha... that's what they call suicide!" his opponent advanced with a cruel grin, raising both hands high before swoosh bringing them down in a vicious motion.
The elongated claws extending from his thin arms sliced through the air,
carving out a sharp, clearly defined blue energy slash that flashed across space in an instant, its edge humming with lethal precision. "Damn it!" Pitsu twisted his body to evade and fired two arrows in rapid
succession-swoosh swoosh each one carrying condensed waves of destructive sound energy.
But his opponent slipped past them effortlessly, his movements smooth and
practiced, and with another wave of both hands he shifted his weight-
Then bam he used the surrounding air itself as if it were a solid platform, kicking off it to launch himself forward at explosive speed.
Bam This time Pitsu did not attempt to dodge, the distance already too close
for evasion, so he raised his bow and blocked the incoming attacks directly, the collision sending shockwaves rippling outward, then swoosh he reversed his grip and used the edge of his bow like a blade, bringing it down toward his opponent's head with ruthless intent.
Every movement from both sides was fueled by an overwhelming surge of energy, every clash releasing violent shockwaves, every missed strike tearing through the battlefield and harvesting dozens of lives indiscriminately as soldiers below were caught in the aftermath.
Bam The Nexus State raised his wrist and intercepted the descending bow before it could land, his grip firm and unyielding, then with his other hand he seized Pitsu by the chest armor, forcing his upper body backward-
Then bam he drove his forehead forward in a brutal headbutt.
Pfff
Pitsu's unprotected forehead dented under the impact as blood burst from his
mouth in a thick spray.
"Haha! Where do you think you're going?" the Nexus State from the Seven Thrones Empire laughed loudly, his voice filled with mockery and cruelty, as he tightened his hold, his right hand still gripping the upper part of the bow before sliding it downward to grasp it from the middle along with Pitsu's left hand,
pulling him closer to ensure he could not be thrown back by the force of the blows-
Then bam another headbutt crashed into him.
Bam Bam
Each strike carried explosive energy, leaving behind visible ripples that
shattered the ground beneath them, cracks spreading outward with every impact as if the land itself could no longer endure their clash.
"Pffft!!" With his face drenched in blood and his vision fading into darkness...
Pitsu smiled.
A strange, unwavering smile.
Then, with trembling determination, he raised his right hand and pulled back
the invisible string of his bow with every last fragment of strength remaining in
his body, his muscles straining, his soul trembling-
"Now... where... will you run?"
"Huh-?!" The Nexus State's eyes widened in sudden realization, instinct
screaming danger as he released Beastoo's arm and attempted to retreat immediately-
But it was too late.
BANG
The arrow was released from point-blank range, slamming directly into his
chest before he could create any meaningful distance.
BOOOOOOOOOOM
The sonic wave, infused with every ounce of Pitsu's remaining power, erupted
outward in a devastating burst, sending both of them flying like shattered projectiles in opposite directions, flattening everything within the surrounding area as the battlefield was violently swept clean.
Bam Ba- Beastoo's body crashed against the ground, bouncing multiple times before
finally coming to a halt, his limbs limp, his body broken.
His face was no longer recognizable.
His armor had been torn apart by the backlash of his own attack, fragments
hanging loosely or completely gone, while his internal organs twisted in agony beyond measure.
He could not move.
Not even a single finger.
Even his consciousness began to slip away, fading like a dying flame in the
wind...
And yet-
He smiled.
If this was the outcome for him...
A man who possessed a natural affinity with the Minor Sound Law...
Then what about his opponent? At the very least...
He had earned the right to fall with dignity.
Hoooom
At that very moment, a white-golden sphere slowly emerged from Pitsu's
forehead, rising gently into the air as if drawn by an unseen force.
Then-
A voice echoed.
"Hmm... the situation here looks really bad."
