Clamor ClamorA place that gathered around 700 billion visitors could not be described with a word like crowd or congestion, no... this kind of gathering had already surpassed anything those words could contain, transcending all conventional measures of scale and density, and did not yet have a name worthy of it, as if language itself had fallen short before the magnitude of what stood here today. The Soul Society tried to contain the situation, tried to supply the Grand Hall with enough energy to keep expanding continuously so that the overwhelming density would not become an obstruction, pushing the limits of its own systems without pause, stretching layers of space upon space between the guests in a seamless, invisible manner, and this came at an enormous, almost absurd cost that only an entity of such magnitude could even begin to sustain. Not for Robin or the announcement, no... but so that it would never be said that the Soul Society faltered or failed to accommodate the masses when they were invited.
Even so, a number of soul experts among the crowd noticed things that should not exist, subtle anomalies that escaped ordinary perception and brushed against the edges of comprehension. Fine, hairline cracks appearing and disappearing across the ceilings and floors like fleeting illusions, so thin that. only the most perceptive could notice them, or strange distortions affecting the manifestation of fairies around them, such as vanishing for fractions of a second before stabilizing again, their forms flickering like unstable projections struggling to remain anchored in reality.
When the experts saw this... some smiled in excitement, their thoughts racing with rapid calculations and wild speculation, realizing they were witnessing a moment that would be recorded in history, for the Soul Society had never faced a situation like this before, not even in its oldest and most sacred records, where countless eras had already been archived.
Others smiled as well, but for different reasons, quieter and colder, their expressions far more restrained... it seemed that even the Soul Society, that colossal and seemingly invincible entity, had limits. And that was strangely reassuring, grounding, a reminder that even the greatest systems in existence were not absolute.
"Eeeeeeeeeeeexcitement!!"
One of the girls in the Grand Hall shouted energetically, her voice cutting through the noise with unrestrained enthusiasm, her presence small yet somehow noticeable amid an ocean of beings.
"What do you think Lord Robin will release today?"
"Something big without a doubt, extremely big, unbelievably big!"
"Ev-even the Soul Society said that Lord Human's innovation would benefit ALL intelligent beings in the universe, whether they use it directly or not." One
person who seemed older spoke while slowly scanning the endless surroundings, his tone filled with curiosity and disbelief. "What could it
possibly be, to even benefit those who won't buy it?"
"Maybe he'll sell a domesticated Crimson Plague? Hehehe."
"I'll buy two, hehe."
Two years ago, a rumor spread that Lord Robin Burton had begun research on the Crimson Plague with the aim of eliminating its threat entirely, a claim that sounded impossible at first, something bordering on absurdity, yet it refused to fade no matter how much time passed.
This sparked a massive wave and endless chatter across the universe, reaching even the most distant civilizations, igniting discussions in hidden corners and among ancient races... but in a surprisingly positive way, as hope began to form where there had once been only fear.
If the threat of the Crimson Plague disappeared, then the threat of the Black Plague that follows it would vanish, and certainly the Blue Plague that destroys entire solar systems without anyone knowing what happened would also disappear, breaking a chain of disasters that had haunted existence for ages, reshaping the balance of survival itself.
No one thought that Lord Robin would use it for evil or that he had turned toward the dark side, such an idea barely taking root before being dismissed.... perhaps because of the Cosmic Elder's influence, whose presence alone carried immense weight, or perhaps because Lord Robin himself had built enough credibility and reputation to stand firmly against such suspicions, becoming a figure that even doubt struggled to touch.
But of course, that did not stop the jokes about it, the crowd's nature refusing to remain serious for long, even in the face of overwhelming possibilities.
At that moment, a voice exploded in everyone's ears, sharp and clear despite the vastness, carrying an authority that silenced even the boldest thoughts: <Welcome, users of the Soul Society. Your wait has been long.>
Then the image of Lord Morval appeared before everyone, projected with overwhelming clarity across the entire hall, his figure towering yet composed, radiating calm control.
"Shh!!" everyone signaled those beside them to be quiet, gestures spreading instantly like a ripple across an endless sea.
No matter how loud the laughter had been, how deep the conversations ran, or how strong the bonds between those present were... in a single moment, the Grand Hall fell silent, as if the entire universe had decided to hold its breath in anticipation.
< I hesitated greatly before announcing your gathering today and holding an official event to launch Lord Robin's new project, > Morval showed a faint, controlled smile, one that hinted at both amusement and caution, < because the last time we attempted something similar, you did not merely respond... you overwhelmed us, buying out our entire stock and placing pre-orders that kept our factories running continuously for another thirty years. > "Heh~" small, restrained laughs slipped from everyone's mouths, spreading lightly before fading once more.
But they were quickly suppressed... everyone present here were elites among their people, individuals accustomed to weighing every word with precision, and Lord Morval's statement forced a single thought into their minds: just how vast were Lord Human's sales, if the Soul Society's colossal manufacturing and distribution network had been partially occupied for thirty entire years? How much wealth had Lord Robin accumulated over time, and how much profit had the Soul Society itself harvested through manufacturing, distribution, and taxation tied to his creations, numbers that likely defied even imagination?
But once again... when their thoughts drifted toward his planetary displacement gear procurement network, the answer became obvious, almost inevitable, as if the mystery had never truly existed.
...Of course, all of it was being funneled into purchasing planetary displacement equipment, endlessly and without hesitation, to arm the Cosmic Academies and wage war against the Anti-Life entities, a cause that justified every expense.
< Yet I found no alternative but to announce and explain this personally, for one reason alone... > he continued calmly, his tone carrying a rare weight of sincerity that few had ever heard from him, <...so that I may have the honor of participating in the unveiling of a new era. >
"Huh?"
"What?!"
Everyone began looking at one another in visible shock and confusion, their composure cracking for the first time since the gathering began.
Did Lord Morval still remember who he was? What kind of development could compel the current master of the Soul Society to utter such words, words that bordered on reverence and humility at the same time?
Could it be that the problem of the internal energy path had been solved, or something even greater than that, something that would redefine the very
foundation of cultivation itself?
Nothing short of an announcement of that magnitude could justify such a
declaration!
Breaths were held, hearts began to pound faster and faster, anticipation tightening across the vast hall like an invisible grip, no one daring to utter even
the faintest whisper for fear of being silenced by those beside them!
< I will not keep you waiting any longer, > Lord Morval gestured slowly, deliberately, drawing every gaze toward him.
An orange disc appeared above his hand, about the size of a palm, glowing
faintly with a steady, controlled light... a familiar disc, yet somehow heavier with meaning this time.
"It's a personal array disc, like the ones Lord Robin created for the Second Chance Array and the Fate-Unbending Array!" one person in the hall shouted while pointing upward, unable to contain himself.
"Shhhh!!"
< Of course, you all recognize what this is. These discs are among the many original inventions of Lord Robin, an innovation capable of compressing an enormous, fully functional array into a small, portable disc, a concept that redefined accessibility itself and changed how power could be carried and deployed... but we are not here today to promote the disc as an object, rather what has been placed within it. >
Then he smiled again, a hint of admiration surfacing more clearly now, < It would seem that Lord Robin awoke one day and came to a conclusion... that the current training systems are fundamentally unfair, that they fail to guide their users toward their true potential as they should, overly restrictive and bound by outdated limitations that have persisted for far too long... and so, he decided to intervene, in full partnership with us. >
Morval raised the disc slightly higher amid the suffocating silence and held
breaths, ensuring that every single being present could see it clearly, < Lord Human has granted us permission to release a new project, a project consisting of a personal array paired with a technique, both to be acquired together, accompanied by a detailed manual designed to ease the process of mastering the technique and synchronizing it seamlessly with the array. >
<...Whoever masters this technique and properly utilizes this array, > Lord
Morval took a slow, deep breath, the weight of his next words pressing down on everyone present, <...shall gain the ability to condense their very own Soul
Emeralds. >
"...........?!"
