RUMBLEIn the brief lapse of the space beasts that were still observing, judging, and instinctively trying to evaluate the strange situation before them, and amid the uncontrollable tremble in Althera and Blucan's hearts... the seven combat units moved at the exact same moment, carrying with them a pressure that instantly disturbed the silent void.
"...." Blucan's eyes widened to their absolute limit as he followed the scene with growing awe, his gaze repeatedly stealing glances toward Robin every few moments as though trying to understand what kind of monster was truly standing behind him all this time.
He could not stop himself from wondering what he would do if Robin were his enemy one day.
What if they someday stood on opposite sides and those seven terrifying units were unleashed against him without warning?
Most likely, he could destroy five of them with his own strength and experience, but he would undoubtedly suffer against the last two, and even if he somehow managed to destroy them as well, it would only happen after a brutal and exhausting battle that might leave him heavily injured or even crippled afterward.
But...
Blokan suddenly fixed his eyes on Robin for a moment longer, the man standing calmly in the rear with his arms crossed and an enormous smile on his face as though he was merely watching an entertaining performance instead of commanding seven monstrous war weapons.
If Robin were truly his enemy... he would completely ignore all of this and head straight for their master's throat.
Perhaps foolish beasts lacking intelligence would continue fighting those soul creatures until their final breath, but no sane person would ever make such a decision... any Guardian possessing even a few soul borrowings would immediately retreat, avoid unnecessary losses, and search for an opening to strike Robin himself directly.
That was precisely why no Royal Soul Master had ever become a Behemoth solely because they possessed outstanding soul creatures. Every single one of those legendary existences had distinguished themselves through something else entirely... something terrifying on a personal level.
Because in real battles against real opponents, none of this truly mattered.
Only personal strength was what saved someone, protected their life, and elevated them to a truly supreme position.
No matter how powerful Lord Robin might be, he would naturally avoid direct combat if this was the style he relied on... no wonder Blokan had never once heard of any battle personally fought by Lord Robin before, despite the fact that the man supposedly ruled several sectors and stood at the center of countless storms throughout the cosmos!
Then Blokan turned once more toward the battlefield that was about to erupt completely...
Fortunately, they would not be fighting humans today.
"WOOOOOOOH!!!"
"KKKIIIEEEKH!!!"
In response to that openly hostile movement, the hordes of nascent and young space beasts finally began moving as well, their countless bodies surging forward with savagery and reckless momentum as their monstrous instincts completely took over.
They could no longer continue evaluating the situation or waiting for orders from the rear while enemies were already charging directly toward them!
Disturbance Disturbance
The place itself was nothing but pure void, a region where even the Law of Space no longer properly existed, and yet immense distortions and terrifying waves of gravity could still be felt spreading violently through the darkness as the two massive forces approached each other at horrifying speed.
Then...
BAM
The savage deer soul creature suddenly raised its four gigantic front arms before smashing them downward with overwhelming brutality onto the heads of four nascent space beasts at once, instantly turning them into exploding paste of flesh, shattered bone, and black blood that scattered across the void.
But that small victory gave no morale boost whatsoever to the handful of soul creatures, nor did it deter the endless swarm of mindless beasts intoxicated by their overwhelming numbers and savage instincts.
The nascent space beasts continued charging fiercely toward the savage deer and slammed directly into its massive body until it staggered backward, after which several beasts immediately climbed onto it and began biting wildly into its flesh while using claws, tails, bone spikes, whips, and every natural weapon they possessed in desperate attempts to tear it apart.
Despite its enormous size and terrifying aura, it became covered by dozens of nascent beasts in the blink of an eye!
The same horrifying scene repeated itself with the other six soul creatures. After slaughtering several beasts in the front lines and crushing others beneath overwhelming force, they were gradually drowned and buried beneath an endless sea of monsters, until their radiance itself could barely be seen anymore beneath the mass of writhing bodies.
"...Lord Robin, I fear your plan to teach these beasts a lesson will not succeed." Blokan slowly began retreating toward the passage step by cautious step while continuing to observe the collapsing battlefield, "But at the very least, we now possess a genuine opportunity to withdraw safely."
"Be patient." Robin smiled confidently without the slightest trace of panic on his face, "The battle has only just begun."
"..?" Blucan's brows furrowed so intensely that deep lines appeared across his forehead, yet even then he did not stop retreating step after cautious step, his entire mind occupied with only one possibility as he wondered whether Robin had finally suffered some kind of damage to his sanity after everything that had happened today.
Had he not just witnessed those soul creatures get completely buried beneath endless waves of monsters with his own eyes?!
"There!" Althera suddenly pointed toward the center of the battlefield with widened eyes, "Something is happening there!"
"RAAAWR---"
"KHHAAA--!!"
The space beasts suddenly began screaming all at once, yet the sounds no longer carried rage or bloodlust.
They carried pain.
Raw, violent pain.
At last, the seven gigantic soul creatures revealed themselves once again from beneath the mountain of writhing monsters. The outer layers of their massive bodies had been ripped apart and shredded horribly, and the relentless assault against them had genuinely come close to tearing them down completely, yet beneath those ruined shells there were no glowing soul units like everyone expected to see... but blazing green flames raging wildly beneath the cracks.
Flames that instantly spread toward every beast that had bitten into them, immediately beginning to burn the creatures from the inside out, while every beast that had torn flesh away using claws found those same claws suddenly roasted black as the fire rapidly crawled upward through the rest of its body like a living plague.
The flames did not simply burn the skin.
They invaded.
They spread.
They devoured.
"What is happening here?!" Blokan shouted in genuine shock as he watched dozens upon dozens of space beasts suddenly convulse in agony.
"Purgatory Flame." Robin explained calmly while observing the battlefield with complete confidence, "Its nature is to burn everything it touches, and it does not extinguish until the target returns to its purest state. If the thing is already pure, it will not even feel heat at all... for example, if it touched someone like you, it would begin burning away every mutated or foreign cell inside your body until it restored you to a proper human, or you died during the process from the sheer agony." Robin paused briefly before continuing, "As for space beasts, creatures the Purgatory Law does not even recognize, beings whose corruption or purity it cannot properly read... then it simply continues burning them endlessly."
Robin himself could not smile while watching hundreds of nascent space beasts burn alive before him...
Because he had personally experienced that sensation once before, and he knew exactly how horrifying and unbearable that pain truly was!
"WOOOH!!"
The nascent soul creatures surrounding each of the seven giant units suddenly began moving as well, their smaller bodies surging into battle with frightening coordination as they targeted every wounded beast consumed by green fire.
SWOOSH SWOOSH
Seven hundred enormous swords suddenly erupted outward from within the planets of flesh like meteors breaking free from a collapsing world, streaking across the void while dragging trails of black blood behind them.
The power of each sword individually was nowhere near enough to kill these monstrous creatures outright, and compared to the gigantic nascent space beasts they were barely larger than daggers, yet killing had never been their true purpose from the beginning.
SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH
Within mere moments, the flying swords shredded apart joints, severed limbs, pierced through hearts, gouged throats, sliced tendons, stabbed groins, and attacked every single weakness capable of harming or destabilizing the enemy.
Each sword behaved as though it possessed its own independent consciousness and its own personal target. Their movements appeared wildly chaotic and irrational at first glance, yet that very chaos was what made tracking them or attempting to evade them completely impossible.
One sword would abruptly dive downward before curving upward into a beast's throat.
Another would intentionally miss before returning from behind to stab into a joint.
Others spun wildly through clusters of monsters, leaving behind endless wounds and ruined flesh without stopping for even a moment.
Those successive events finally liberated the seven young soul creatures from the sea of enemies crushing them down, and without Robin even attempting to heal their injuries, they pushed forward once more with their mutilated bodies blazing with terrifying green flames, while leaving their smaller beast followers and swarming swords behind to continue the slaughter in their wake.
The battlefield had transformed completely in only a few moments.
The overwhelming tide that once threatened to bury the soul creatures now looked more like a field of living torches writhing in agony beneath endless streams of green fire and flashing blades.
Blokan finally stopped retreating entirely, his mouth hanging wide open in disbelief as he stared at the impossible scene unfolding before him...
The result of the very first wave, seven combat units against tens of thousands of nascent space beasts:
Not a single soul creature had fallen.
And not a single sword had been broken.
