Chapter 2373: Seal

"...Because that’s exactly the case." Robin let out a quiet sigh before continuing, not giving Glatheon the chance to interrupt with another question. "The truth is, that array I began drawing wasn’t some brilliant idea I conceived out of thin air and then decided to implement. I... could somehow feel it."

"You could feel it?" Glatheon asked, his curiosity immediately overcoming his earlier concern.

"Yes." Robin gave a slight nod. "It began after I mastered Causality, my fifth Master Law. I started sensing hidden connections between the Master Laws. And I don’t mean that they merely complemented one another or shared similar characteristics. No... I mean genuine, tangible connections that actually exist and can be discovered if one is capable of perceiving them."

He continued,

"From that moment onward, I assigned one of my consciousnesses to investigate the matter, but my perception of those connections was far too faint to lead anywhere meaningful. It was like trying to reconstruct an enormous picture after glimpsing only a handful of scattered lines. That changed after the battle against the Executioner. After repeatedly using the Master Laws with such intensity, precision, and synchronization for an extended period, those connections became... slightly clearer. Only slightly."

Then he smiled.

"But that was enough for me to return to that direction and begin drawing what I was sensing—drawing those hidden connections one after another. Every time I completed another portion of the design and then advanced to a higher Master Law grade on that very same day, the connections became a little clearer, allowing me to continue refining the pattern. Eventually, I completed the entire structure... and the Master Law of Primordial Chaos was born. It naturally joined the rest, and I discovered its own unique pathway along with the connections that belonged exclusively to it."

"..."

Glatheon drew a deep breath, unable to immediately process what he had just heard.

So that day...

Master hadn’t been recklessly experimenting with something completely unknown.

He had simply been drawing something that already existed within his perception...

Everything that had happened back then suddenly seemed completely different.

"After obtaining Primordial Chaos and once that strange phenomenon came to an end, I immediately moved on to making Althera a candidate before beginning one journey after another. Naturally, I pushed the matter of that seal to the back of my mind and gradually stopped thinking about it... until I finished removing Hedrick’s limits. That’s when I became certain that something was wrong. The exhaustion I felt after using the Master Laws couldn’t be explained, considering my body was perfectly healthy and my energies were denser than ever. And that persistent weakness, which I’d already confirmed was real rather than imagined, had become impossible to ignore as well. So I returned to investigating the matter, this time with genuine determination, complete concentration, and far more patience than before... only to discover that the answer turned out to be astonishingly simple."

Robin smiled faintly.

"After only a little searching... I found several of those seals inside my own body."

"Seals embedded inside your body?!" Glatheon exclaimed in complete disbelief, instinctively leaning forward.

"Something closer to manufactured than embedded." Robin tilted his head slightly while continuing to study the miniature array floating before him. "I found them with only a small amount of searching. If they’d been there from the very beginning, I would’ve discovered them long ago. You probably don’t know this, but there was once a day when my body was torn apart until all that remained was my heart, my head, and a single lifeline connecting them through my spinal cord." He let out a quiet laugh. "If seals like these had truly existed inside me back then—planted by the All-seeing-god, for example—I would’ve noticed them without question during one of those rather extreme adventures."

He continued while lightly tapping the armrest beneath his fingertips.

"My best guess is that those seals were created on the day of my breakthrough." His brows slowly drew together once more. "And what those seals have been doing to my body... only reinforces that conclusion instead of contradicting it."

"What exactly are they doing to your body, Master?" Glatheon asked, deliberately keeping the conversation moving, sensing that Robin himself wanted to organize his thoughts by speaking them aloud.

"...."

Robin hesitated before answering.

His eyes gradually drifted toward the distant horizon, his expression becoming noticeably more solemn as silence settled between them for several moments.

"After discovering the seals, I spent several days focusing my full attention on them, trying to determine whether they were actually doing anything at all. I watched them continuously, waiting for even the slightest change, no matter how insignificant it seemed. Eventually..." He paused for another brief moment before quietly continuing, "...I finally detected one."

His gaze remained fixed on the horizon.

"One hundred cells in my body..." Robin slowly said, his voice carrying an unmistakable trace of uncertainty, "...transformed into something else."

"Your cells are changing?" Glatheon asked in astonishment, unable to immediately grasp what Robin was implying. "Do you mean they’re breaking down or dying?"

"No." Robin slowly shook his head. "They’re simply transforming. Those one hundred cells suddenly began glowing like tiny lamps resting at the bottom of the ocean. I can clearly tell that their demand for energy is incomparably higher than before, their regenerative ability is astonishing, the protection surrounding them is extraordinary, and every single aspect of them is different... It’s almost as though they aren’t my cells anymore."

He continued calmly,

"If I hadn’t personally witnessed those one hundred cells transforming before my own eyes, I would’ve genuinely believed they had been implanted by some higher being... an existence standing far above me."

Gulp.

Glatheon unconsciously swallowed before staring at Robin for several long moments, his thoughts racing.

"Do you think those one hundred cells have some particular significance?"

"Hmm? Not at all." Robin casually waved his hand. "The moment those finished transforming, I noticed another one hundred cells beginning the exact same process."

"Your body’s cells are systematically evolving into something of a higher order?!" Glatheon blurted out in complete disbelief, unable to suppress the shock in his voice.

"That’s exactly what’s happening as we speak." Robin shrugged lightly. "Of course, one hundred or even two hundred cells are practically insignificant numbers when compared to the human body as a whole. After all, the average human body contains somewhere between thirty and forty trillion cells. Even so..." He scratched his cheek with a somewhat embarrassed smile. "I honestly feel a little ashamed to admit this out loud, but those newly transformed one hundred cells have already begun improving my body as a whole."

Then he let out a helpless chuckle.

"After doing a quick calculation, I realized it’ll take roughly twenty billion years before every single cell in my body finishes transforming into this new state." He smiled faintly. "Do you think I’ll still be alive to witness that day?" He waved the matter away almost immediately. "Though, to be honest, I’m already looking forward to the day I possess ten thousand of those cells... or even one hundred thousand. I’m genuinely curious how much difference such a tiny fraction could make."

"So..." Glatheon lowered his head while silently arranging every piece of information Robin had revealed. "Those higher-order cells... this gradual transformation... it’s all being caused by those hexagonal seals... and those seals themselves were created during your breakthrough on the very day you shattered the All-seeing-god’s restraints..."

He slowly lifted his eyes until they met Robin’s directly.

"But... why exactly one hundred cells? Why not more... or fewer?"

"I think the answer to that question is actually rather simple." Robin casually waved his hand twice before raising his palm slightly upward.

One seal after another emerged from his hand until ten separate seals floated into existence, slowly revolving around one another in a stable circular formation.

"These are all the seals inside my body." Robin calmly observed them. "Ten in total. My current guess is that each one transforms ten cells at a time."

"...?!"

Glatheon’s eyes widened to their absolute limit.

The ten seals were virtually identical in their overall structure.

Each possessed six points surrounding a central eye symbol...

Yet despite sharing the same appearance, they were anything but identical in their condition.

Only one of the seals radiated an intense golden brilliance, shining far more brightly than all the others.

Six additional seals emitted varying degrees of radiance. Some glowed vividly with abundant energy, while others appeared almost completely drained, as though only a faint trace of light still remained within them.

The eighth and ninth seals were noticeably different as well.

They were much smaller.

Roughly half the size of the others.

As for the tenth seal, it stood apart for an entirely different reason.

Its brightness was perfectly ordinary.

Its size was perfectly ordinary as well.

Yet the structure itself had changed.

Something new had become woven directly into its design.

Beneath the symbol of the eye...

The image of a woman’s face had become permanently imprinted, as though it had fused into the seal itself instead of merely being placed upon it.

"Is... that Lady Althera?!" Glatheon exclaimed, his eyes remaining fixed upon the altered seal without blinking for even a single moment.
