Three years later—Year 788 After the CoronationMid Sector 90—Beside the Buffer Zone
Today... was the long-awaited day when the Horde Forces arriving from Mid Sector 89 were finally due to appear.
Based on the exact point from which they had entered and the angle of entry that had been detected and recorded, they would inevitably emerge here sooner or later, as there was simply no way for them to alter their direction while traveling inside the Buffer Zone.
And so, in preparation for that inevitable moment, the armies under Lord Robin’s command had been mobilized and gathered here.
Renara stood alone at the very forefront, wearing golden armor streaked throughout with black. Even her nine magnificent tails were adorned with individual pieces of golden armor resembling elegant bracelets, ornaments that only added further splendor to their already breathtaking appearance. She firmly held a thick spear that emanated an unmistakably ancient aura and kept her eyes completely closed... waiting patiently for what was about to come.
Behind her stood Gravor, the Gravity Behemoth, fully armored from head to toe and gripping a massive rounded hammer in his hand. He was an enormous man standing over two meters tall, with a broad square face and prominently protruding jawbones, surrounded by an intense aura and an even heavier pressure that naturally radiated from his body. Behind him, thirty of his children stood arranged in orderly rows... He had clearly come here prepared to fight to the very end if necessary, but the expressions of anger and resentment that still dominated his face made it equally clear that, despite standing here with everyone else, he had not yet fully resigned himself to the reality of the situation forced upon him.
To his right stood Arkail, the Temporal Behemoth. For the first time in countless years, Arkail was actually wearing armor... a set of pale blue armor interwoven with streaks of white that covered his body. He held a scepter firmly in his left hand while a small hourglass rested upon the open palm of his right. Behind him stood thirty of his children as well, arranged together in formation, every single one of them armored, armed, and equipped with their full battle gear as they waited alongside their father.
To Arkail’s right floated an enormous purple dragon, its massive body slowly circling in place while continuously emitting a tremendous aura that spread outward around it. It was Zavaros, and behind him were ten of his children, each of whom had already abandoned their ordinary appearance and assumed their beast form in preparation for battle, whether in the shape of a winged tiger or a gigantic turtle. Yet among all of them, the one who attracted the most attention was undoubtedly Zarion, his eldest son, who had taken the imposing form of a gleaming silver dragon.
On the other side, standing beside Gravor, was a neatly dressed human with long hair tied back behind his head. He wore the dark blue robe distinctive to Soul Masters, while beneath that robe he wore a set of armor specifically designed for close-range fighters. In his right hand, he held a massive spear whose construction allowed it to be used effectively for both slashing and thrusting, while his entire left hand was enveloped by several miniature soul arrays that remained wrapped around it.
It was Kiryan, the Conquest Behemoth, and directly behind him stood ten of his closest disciples, all gathered here alongside their master.
Behind all of them stood Kaylis, wearing a vivid crimson dress brimming with vitality and unmistakable battle energy, while thirty of her daughters and sons stood gathered closely behind her.
Farther behind this entire group stood Omis and Omira, alongside Glatheon from Sector 99, the Six Greats from Sector 101, and a number of Guardians, Monarchs, and Soul Masters above the seventh star who had been subdued throughout the sectors stretching from Sector 90 all the way to Sector 117, bringing the number of those gathered within this particular group to thirty.
Altogether, there were 140 Dominators assembled here, with five Behemoths standing ahead of them, and at the very front of all those terrifying figures stood the Emperor Slayer herself, Renara.
The sheer terror and oppressive pressure emanating from such a formation were almost impossible to properly describe. Although every Behemoth present had been forced to leave a number of his children and disciples behind to protect his own lair, with each of them leaving behind as many as the dangers surrounding his territory demanded... the formation that had ultimately gathered here still possessed a level of concentrated power that the universe had not witnessed in an extremely long time.
At what point in all of recorded history had five Behemoths and dozens of leaders of Millennial Empires ever gathered together beneath a single banner, standing within the same formation and preparing to confront the same enemy?
This was not merely an alliance between several independent powers cooperating for a common purpose. Every single one of them was, quite literally, acting under the wishes of one person.
That was without even considering Renara standing at the very front of this entire formation... a woman whose personal strength was now compared directly to that of Marlik the Butcher, and whose name alone had shaken the Soul Society and spread throughout all thousand sectors after the clashes that had taken place over the course of the past three years.
And behind all of this?
Thousands upon thousands of Nexus States stood arrayed one after another in an enormous formation, with a full kilometer deliberately separating each one from the next, spreading them across the area like a gigantic network woven entirely from concentrated power, waiting for the moment to pounce upon a raging swarm or an unsuspecting Guardian that entered within their reach.
At the very forefront of those Nexus States stood 700 Royal Soul Masters from the Burton Family, divided into ten complete squads, with each squad standing in its own organized formation and its respective leader positioned at the front, while every one of those formations remained fully prepared to engage a Dominator directly if the situation required it.
Behind all of this stood another formation consisting of hundreds of thousands of World Cataclysms... The Centennial Empires, the multi-planetary empires, and even the small kingdoms under Lord Robin had all contributed everything they possessed to this enormous formation, gathering their available strength together until this vast force had finally taken shape, led by several fourth-rank children of the Behemoths... This formation of World Cataclysms alone, even without considering any of the forces standing ahead of or behind it, possessed enough strength to attack and occupy an entire sector.
But even after all of that, the overwhelming display of power had still not come to an end...
Behind them stood an enormous force consisting of no fewer than 3,000 complete Note-4 fleets.
Three thousand of the very fleets that had terrorized the universe for centuries and had become known for the immense military power they represented. Just one hundred of those fleets had already been enough to overturn the existing balance of power across entire sectors, as they had repeatedly proven through their actions in Sector 101. Today... instead of merely one hundred of them appearing together, three thousand had gathered in the same place.
A number of Rapid Support Vessels and Phantom Shadow vessels moved continuously among those thousands of fleets, each carrying out its assigned role within the enormous formation, with some preparing themselves to strike at any openings that appeared once the fighting began, while others remained occupied with recording everything taking place and gathering as much information as possible...
And behind all of this were no fewer than 20,000 fleets of various colors, gathered together from every force currently under Lord Robin’s command. Those countless fleets had been carefully divided into separate squadrons, with each squadron bearing its own distinctive color, each squadron coming from a different empire, and each one assigned responsibility for intervening at specific points once the war began so that no conflicts or interference would occur between the different forces when they finally moved into action.
And all of this, this terrifying and almost unimaginable display of accumulated military power, was being broadcast for everyone to see.
The Shadow Swords’ live broadcast through the Soul Society terrified everyone who watched it, causing those who possessed great status throughout the universe and those who possessed no status whatsoever to abandon whatever work occupied them and devote their attention entirely to watching the unfolding scene, their mouths hanging open at the sheer enormity of the forces gathered before their eyes; after all, there was little point in continuing with trade or agriculture while the fate of the universe itself was being decided today.
Everyone trembled before the terrifying might gathered beneath the banner of the demon Robin Burton, and even more so before the horrifying thought of the allied forces led by Marlik the Butcher being defeated today, because if that truly happened, then this overwhelming torrent of accumulated power would begin surging outward toward them, destroying them all, killing their children, and offering them to the plague!!
Whoooosh
At that very moment, the wall of the Buffer Zone finally began to liquefy.
