Planet Donara—
"...Haha, that kid is still as sharp as his teacher." Robin’s smile widened noticeably as he continued examining the contents of the book in his hands. "Jaba has indeed found a solution to Zavaros and his children’s problem, as well as the problem of the Second Training Path’s limits as a whole. With this, the blood of a World Cataclysm beast will no longer restrict you to the World Cataclysm Realm at most; you’ll be able to surpass that boundary easily without the beast’s level becoming your own ceiling. This way, beast blood will only serve as a means of activating the variable particles instead of determining the ultimate limit of the person who uses it."
Robin happily raised the book with his left hand, clearly pleased with what he was reading. "With this, the problem of exaggerated beast-like features will disappear as well. You won’t find a human turning into something resembling a ghoul just because they were injected with beast blood. The physical changes will be simple and minimal instead of becoming overwhelmingly obvious, and the changes in temperament will also be kept to the bare minimum. Someone won’t become impulsive and impatient simply because they were injected with wild boar blood, or become bloodthirsty merely because they were injected with tiger blood!"
Then he laughed, his satisfaction with the results becoming increasingly obvious. "Haha, my brilliant disciple has solved the problems of 90% of the universe’s citizens with this. Now he only needs to find a way to apply this ingenious research to those who have already taken beast blood through the old method and undergone their transformations, a method that’s cheap enough to use without difficulty and can be distributed on a sufficiently wide scale for everyone who needs it... I think it’ll be ready by the time my galaxy ascends."
Then he put the book down, though the smile on his face barely faded after everything he had just read. "He also sent the details and patterns of the first degree of Identity... He took his time it sending them, didn’t he? But it still counts." Afterward, he nodded to himself in clear approval. "He deserves a good reward."
Then he raised an eyebrow as he recalled another section he had noticed. "...There’s also a section of the book discussing his personal experiences transitioning from Truth to Identity, along with his experiments in general and everything he personally went through that eventually led him to Identity." Then he slowly raised his other eyebrow as another thought occurred to him. "...Can this be considered a memoir too?"
"...."
"...?" Robin finally noticed the lost and visibly displeased look covering Billy’s face as the latter stared at him from the side as though he wanted to eat him, forcing Robin to turn more of his attention toward him. "What?!"
"...." Billy finally lowered his gaze after staring at Robin for a while. "...I... I understand your point of view... You believe you’ve been wronged by everyone, and because of everything that happened, you believe you don’t owe anyone anything." Then, after a slight pause in which he seemed to gather his thoughts, he continued, "But how can you... how can you judge everyone as having betrayed you and then leave them to die like this? You’re the one who chose to keep your actions secret from them!"
"If I hadn’t kept things secret, I wouldn’t have accomplished anything in the first place!" Robin replied immediately without hesitation. "If I announced what I’m doing here, you’d find Antares, Sevar, Qarun, Helmor, and the others doing everything within their power to close the passage so I’d be forced to stop killing Space Beasts and so they could trap the Cosmic Elder on the other side. That would be a masterstroke for them, something they could proudly boast about before their masters after accomplishing it."
Then, after taking a breath, he continued in a calmer tone, "They secretly learned what I’m doing through their own methods anyway, yet despite knowing the truth, they still turned the universe against me and want to kill me. I don’t need to tell you what they’re doing to my followers or remind you about the wars raging against me at this very moment. They’re making everyone believe that I’m the absolute evil they’ve all been forced to unite against, and unfortunately, people are actually believing them, because none of those people wants to tell everyone the truth... the truth that evil itself has been ruling this universe for millions of years, and that I am the only point of light that has appeared in its sky!"
Robin then placed the thick book aside and calmly extended his hand toward another one among the gifts before him. "But alas~ Let them find themselves another light if that’s what they want."
Then his eyes immediately lit up with delight the moment he recognized the next gift. "Oh, this one’s from Theo!"
"Everyone believes there’s something behind you because of all those campaigns you’ve been launching across all those Sectors!" Billy spoke rapidly, his words coming out one after another as he nearly fell off the edge of his chair. "Over the past few years alone, we’ve reached Sector 90 to the east and Sector 117 to the west, and we were already preparing to continue advancing beyond them if it weren’t for our sudden war with the Syndicate, the Council of Thrones, and the intervention of the Tyrant Galaxy!!"
"Do you remember what I told you just a little while ago?" Robin asked without taking much of his attention away from Theo’s writings, still reading through them with a smile on his face. "...About how I’ll try to save my subjects?"
"....?" Billy knitted his brows tightly as he stared at Robin, a completely clueless expression covering his entire face while several long seconds of silence passed between them.
Until finally, his eyes opened as wide as they possibly could when the meaning behind Robin’s question suddenly became clear to him. "You... are forcing them to accept being saved?!"
"You could say that." Robin laughed lightly, showing no particular problem with Billy’s description. "I can’t publicize my entire story, the Cosmic Elder’s requests, or the origins of someone like the Seer and the enemies who stand at the same level as him. Human minds can’t handle something like that so easily. They’ll simply choose to believe that everything I’m saying is nothing but a lie, nothing more than some ridiculous conspiracy theory, and that I’m nothing but a liar trying to deceive them."
Then he shrugged as though the choice before him had always been quite simple. "If my choices are to appear as a war-loving bastard who keeps invading one place after another, or as a liar trying to spread discord among everyone... then I’d rather be the former. Let them call me the Chosen of War, as they once did, rather than have them call me a liar." Then he let out a mocking laugh, apparently finding the entire matter somewhat amusing. "No one inside the shell of this universe deserves for me to lie to them, or for me to lie for their sake."
Then his eyes suddenly gleamed again as his attention returned completely to what was written before him. "Theo’s mastery of the Integrated Cosmic Silence Law between Space, Time, and Darkness has reached a truly terrifying stage. This report talks about an operation where he slaughtered a Low Nexus State during the war. Haha, incredible!" Then the smile on his face gradually disappeared as he continued reading further. "...The other half... his experiences as the leader of the Shadow Swords organization from its beginning all the way to the end... Hmmm?!"
Robin furrowed his brows more deeply, then raised the tablet toward Billy while looking increasingly suspicious of what he was seeing. "What’s with all these memoirs? I’m starting to smell something here that’s making me angry..."
"Robin... Your Majesty..." Billy muttered quietly while looking down, choosing his words carefully before continuing. "Allow me to tell you that you’re unfair even in your love."
Then he raised his head again and stared directly into Robin’s face, no longer willing to leave the matter there. "Just to keep yourself from being branded a liar, you launched a frenzy of successive invasions across one Sector after another, earned yourself a demonic reputation because of those invasions, and then turned around afterward and blamed the people for how they see you?" Then he waved his hand forcefully as he continued. "Couldn’t you have asked Theo to prepare a suitable atmosphere before invading each Sector? Have him fabricate whatever bullshit reasons he wanted for every invasion, just like everyone else does? Was there really no other way besides those arbitrary invasions and that blatant flexing of your strength?!"
"...There was no time for me to fabricate excuses, build alliances, and secretly subdue Sectors one by one the way I did with 99, 100, and 101, where I spent entire centuries working until I finally reached the result those Sectors stand at today." Robin placed the metal tablet aside with an irritated huff, clearly unwilling to entertain such a slow method under the current circumstances. "...There are only ten thousand years left before the early catastrophe arrives, and I have to make use of every single moment I have."
