Chapter 5058: You’re Welcome

“Oh, the three of them went to the forest. They said they wanted to train and gain experience. But Fire Phoenix and Cloud Devouring went with them.” Mi’er placed the pastries on the small table beside her and asked, “Did Master need them for something? Shall I call them back?”

“Since they’re in the forest, let them wander around there for now!” Feng Jiu said, picking up a pastry to eat while asking, “Mi’er, have you improved your strength recently?”

“I have improved a bit. I can feel my combat power has grown significantly.” Mi’er said with a smile, adding, “I also asked Uncle Tie to forge another set of blades for me! It’ll just take a bit longer to complete.”

“Mhm.” Feng Jiu nodded, sipping her tea. “Keep an eye on Yuan Jing at the guest quarters. If he needs anything, make sure it’s provided.”

“Got it. I know.”

Over the next few days, Feng Jiu treated Yuan Jing’s eyes almost daily, inquiring about his sensations during the process and any changes in his vision.

That day, as Feng Jiu once again treated Yuan Jing with the energy of the Blue Lotus, she continued to ask, “How does it feel today?”

“My eyes feel warm, like a hot compress is pressing against them. It’s a bit itchy, but the stinging pain is gone,” Yuan Jing replied.

Hearing this, Feng Jiu withdrew her hand and looked at him lying on the bed. “Get up! Come outside and take a look.”

Yuan Jing paused at his words but obeyed without hesitation. Following her into the courtyard, he stopped when he heard her footsteps halt ahead.

“Open your eyes and tell me what you see,” Feng Jiu instructed softly.

Yuan Jing froze, his closed eyelashes fluttering slightly. Throughout his treatment, he’d been instructed never to open his eyes. Meaning that since the very first day of therapy, he’d kept his eyes shut—even when walking around blindfolded. Hearing her tell him to open them now, he momentarily froze, unable to process the request.

“Open your eyes. See if it’s still pitch black.” Seeing him unresponsive, Feng Jiu prompted again.

At her words, Yuan Jing slowly opened his eyes, his gaze tinged with nervousness, caution, and unease. When he did open them, he still couldn’t make out the scenery before him. Yet, faintly, he could perceive blurred shapes and patches of white light.

His heart jolted, and his entire body trembled slightly. “I… I think I see light…”

Hearing his trembling voice, Feng Jiu waved her hand in front of him. “And now? What do you see?”

“I don’t know what it is. Something fluttered past my face, partially obscuring the light.” His voice faltered as he asked, his excitement unmasked, “Phoenix Empress, does this mean my eyes are healing?”

Feng Jiu withdrew her hand. “That was my hand waving. Still, seeing light is a good sign.” She handed him the medicinal solution. “Since you can perceive light, you may administer the drops yourself from now on. Switch to three applications daily—morning, noon, and night. After each application, cover your eye with a cloth strip. I’ll return in three days to check on you.”

“Yes, thank you, Phoenix Empress.” He responded, his gratitude mingled with unchecked joy and excitement.

“You’re welcome. Helping you is only because of Mo Chen’s favor.” Feng Jiu said, making no further stay. She turned and left the guest courtyard.
