"Perhaps you’re unaware," Feng Jiu’s voice carried with deliberate slowness, yet it carried an icy chill and palpable intent to kill.

"This time next year will mark not only their death anniversary, but yours as well." " As she spoke these words, blood began seeping from the seven orifices of those sovereigns, leaving them utterly speechless.

"Pfft!"

The overwhelming pressure caused their qi and blood to surge chaotically within their bodies. Their vision blurred as blood filled their eyes, and a mouthful of blood gushed forth. Unable to even stand mid-air, they plummeted downward.

Below, the vast, dark mass of fierce beasts—countless in number—had moments before been locked in savage combat with the cultivators. "Xiao Bai, have these fierce beasts withdraw from the city." Feng Jiu spoke, her gaze turning to Bai Xiao crouched in the corner.

"Yes!" Bai Xiao responded immediately, rising to his feet and looking up at the sky. With the deaths of those sovereigns, the barriers and auras they had cast into the air dissipated.

He drew his flute and began to play, driving the fierce beasts out of the city and back into the forest.

"We pay homage to our Master!"

Led by Qi Kang and the others, along with the Phoenix Guards who had protected the Heavenly Pill Tower, they knelt respectfully on one knee, their eyes brimming with excitement as they gazed upon their Master.

They did not know why their master, who had already ascended, had returned. They only knew that seeing her again was truly a blessing!

"Rise, all of you!" Feng Jiu said, stepping forward slowly. Seeing the wounds covering their bodies and the ruins of the Pill Tower behind them, he couldn’t help but sigh.

"Master, we failed to protect the Heavenly Pill Tower. Please punish us!"
