He looked at Feng Jiu, patting her shoulder. “Little Jiu, you’re doing well. Though Ge’er is gone, having you here is just as meaningful. Your existence proves Ge’er’s existence. Even though you are two souls, you are one person.” ”

He exhaled softly, gazing at the name engraved on the stone tablet. “This is enough. I believe Ge’er would feel the same as I do—she wouldn’t want her Grandfather and Mother to grieve for her.”

“Alright, I’ll listen to Father,” Feng Jiu replied softly.

Father and daughter remained there in quiet contemplation for a while before departing. She had intended to tell them about her departure, but the matter left her momentarily speechless. Instead, she returned to the courtyard.

“What’s wrong?” Xuanyuan Mo Ze, who was in the courtyard, noticed her return and saw that her expression seemed off. He asked, stepping forward to take her hand while placing his other hand on her forehead. “Are you feeling unwell?”

Feng Jiu nestled into his embrace, wrapping her arms around his waist. Whispering against his chest, she confided, “It turns out my father knew all along that I wasn’t Qingge, but Feng Jiu.”

Hearing this, Xuanyuan Mo Ze looked slightly surprised. “What did he say?”

“He didn’t say much. He never mentioned this to me before. I just saw him go alone to the back mountain, so I followed. There, I found a grave—the one he built for Qingge. When I asked, I learned he’d known the truth for many years.”

She sighed softly and continued, “So I told him how I became his daughter back then. I had intended to tell Grandfather and Mother, but Father said not to tell them, lest it cause them grief.”

“Hmm, that’s enough,” Xuanyuan Mo Ze murmured, running a hand through her hair. “You’ve done more than enough for Qingge. You’ve honored her memory, her family, and the Feng clan. Making you one of us—perhaps that too was fate’s design.”

Feng Jiu said nothing, simply embracing him quietly, nestling into his chest, feeling the warmth radiating from his body and the rhythm of his heartbeat.

After dinner that evening, Feng Jiu informed them of her impending departure. Though Feng Sanyuan and the others were reluctant to see her go, they understood that as an emperor of a realm, she could not linger here long. They merely urged her to be cautious in all matters and to return often when she could.

After bidding farewell, the next morning Feng Jiu and Xuanyuan Mo Ze boarded a carriage bound for Peach Blossom Ridge. Arriving at the teleportation array within the peach grove, Feng Jiu asked Feng Ye and Du Fan to wait for her inside the array while she stepped aside to speak with Mo Ze.

“I’ll wait for you up there,” Feng Jiu said, clasping his hand, reluctant to let go. “The three children kept talking about how much they missed you. Once you’ve ascended, let’s find time to visit them again.”

Xuanyuan Mo Ze gazed at her, his deep black eyes brimming with tenderness and affection. He drew her into his embrace, pressed a kiss to her forehead, and murmured, “Alright. I’ll come find you soon.”

He released her, meeting her gaze. “Don’t worry about me. Go now.”

“Mm.” Feng Jiu nodded, taking one last deep look at him before stepping into the formation. “Mo Ze,” she said, “We’ll meet in the Upper Immortal Realm.”

“Master, we’ll wait for you up there!” Gray Wolf and Shadow One, standing within the formation, called out urgently.
