Xiao Junyan, who had been escorted away, pressed his lips together. He knew that since the Azure Emperor wouldn’t let him ascend to see Yun Qi, he simply couldn’t go up. Yet, he refused to return empty-handed.
Thus, he resolved to wait at the foot of the mountain.
At the Azure Emperor’s quarters, after seeing the person off, he picked up his book again and began flipping through the pages. Yet, after reading a few pages, he found himself unable to take anything in.
He put the book away, rose, and started walking towards Yun Qi’s cave abode. Before he even reached it, he saw Yun Chen approaching from this direction.
"Master," Hao’er bowed with clasped hands, "Your disciple has just emerged from seclusion and was heading to your quarters."
The Azure Emperor glanced at him, noting the shift in his aura. His expression softened slightly. "So you’ve made a breakthrough. Excellent. Since you’ve emerged, I have something to discuss with you."
Hearing this, Hao’er looked at him. Noticing the Azure Emperor’s gaze fixed on Yun Qi’s cave abode, he added, "Is Master seeking Junior Sister? Actually, the three of us agreed—regardless of breakthroughs—to emerge today. I believe they should be emerging as well."
"Oh?" The Azure Emperor raised an eyebrow at this. "You made such an agreement?"
"Yes." Hao’er nodded, then asked, "Master mentioned having something to tell me earlier. Might you elaborate?"
The Azure Emperor responded, "Since they’re both emerging today, go wait for them. Bring them both over, and I’ll explain everything together." With that, he withdrew his gaze and turned back toward his own cave.
"Understood." Hao’er responded, feeling slightly puzzled but choosing not to press further. He turned and headed to the cave abode of his younger brother and sister to wait.
The three had made an agreement before entering seclusion, so by evening, Yun Yuan and Yun Qi also emerged from their cave abode.
Time passed swiftly in the mountains. Over the years, they had grown considerably taller, no longer the small children they once were, but now proper young lads.
"Big Brother!" Yue’er ran toward him joyfully the moment she saw him. "Big Brother, you advanced again?"
"Mhm." Hao’er nodded, a smile touching his lips at her sight. "I emerged at noon and waited here for you both. We should go to Master now—his demeanor suggests he has something to tell us."
"Could it be Mother has arrived?" Muchen, approaching from nearby, interjected upon hearing their conversation.
"I don’t know. Master didn’t say, just told us to come over soon." Hao’er glanced at the two of them. "Since you’re both out now, let’s go! We don’t want to keep Master waiting."
"Alright." Yue’er nodded with a smile. " I was planning to come out earlier, but I took a bath and changed clothes, and before I knew it, it was this late."
The three walked along, laughing and chatting. Before long, they arrived at their Master’s cave abode.
"Master, your disciples have brought their Junior Brothers and Junior Sisters." Hao’er announced outside the cave abode.
"Master."
"Master!"
Muchen and Yue’er also called out. While Muchen was respectful and formal, Yue’er beamed with a smile, twirling a strand of her hair as she peered into the cave abode.
"Come in!" The Azure Emperor’s voice echoed from within.
The three exchanged glances before stepping inside.
