She gazed at him with a radiant smile and said, “You’ve shed that distant, unapproachable aura and gained a warmer, more human touch. Plus, you never used to smile much before, but now your face lights up far more often.”

Hearing this, Xiao Junyan’s lips curved slightly. “That’s because traveling the world has broadened my horizons. No longer confined to one place, I’ve seen so much more of life—my perspective and outlook have naturally changed.”

“So traveling really does make a difference. But Big Brother Xiao, don’t you need to return to the family to take charge? Can you really keep wandering like this?” she asked curiously.

“The family has the Old Predecessor to guard it, the Patriarch to handle affairs, and Junheng assisting. Though they’ve urged me to return, I still wish to see more of the world.” As he spoke, he lifted his teacup and took a sip.

He rarely interfered in family affairs. Had his second uncle not sent word requesting his presence to handle a matter, he wouldn’t have come here at all.

“By the way, there’s an opportunity for training this time. I wonder if you’re interested.” He spoke up.

“What kind of trial?” she asked, turning to look at him.

“After arriving, I learned the dispute stems from the discovery of a hidden realm. All factions in Mountain Vista City want control over it. But today, after discussing with other family heads, we decided to open the realm and let everyone explore it. Whatever they gain inside will be their own fortune.”

His gaze shifted to her as he continued, “The details still need final confirmation, but that’s the general plan. So, I wanted to ask—are you interested? Would you consider going in? Perhaps you’ll find unexpected rewards.”

Hearing this, she blinked and asked, “So if I find something in the secret realm, does it belong to me? Or do I have to hand it over?”

Xiao Junyan smiled and replied slowly, “Since it’s each person’s fortune, naturally it belongs to them. There’s no need to hand it over. However, this endeavor will also involve danger and deadly threats. After all…” Treasure hunting and looting—such things were all too common.

Yue’er’s eyes lit up. “Wonderful! I adore these secret realms. Big Brother Xiao, when can we go? And since I’m not part of your family, can I still enter?”

“It should be within the next few days. As for entering, that shouldn’t be an issue.” He added, “I’ll accompany you inside.”

“Great!” she replied happily.

When they were about seventy percent full, they set down their chopsticks. Yue’er glanced toward the lantern festival area below, her eyes lighting up. Her voice carried a hint of excitement as she exclaimed, “Hey! Looks like there’s a fight over there!”

Seeing her eager to join the commotion, Xiao Junyan shook his head helplessly. While others would avoid a fight like the plague, she was drawn to it.

“Big Brother Xiao, let’s go check it out! It’ll help us digest,” Yue’er said, turning to him as she stowed the lantern away.

With a sigh, Xiao Junyan nodded. After settling the bill, he followed her toward the gathering crowd drawn to the commotion.
