Yue’er’s eyes crinkled with laughter as she chirped, "I just love dangerous places! Besides, I came down the mountain to travel and hone my skills. And since no one’s ever been inside, I bet there’s plenty of good stuff in there. Or are you worried I’ll go in and grab everything?"

The others froze, exchanging glances before bursting into laughter. Shen Shiqi chuckled, "You little fox! Haven’t seen you in years, and you’re still as cocky as ever!"

"What could a mere girl like you possibly snatch up in there? Let me tell you, the ones going in this time are all the top-tier talents from their families. You? You can’t hold a candle to them." Chen Tao chuckled dismissively.

"That’s not something you need to worry about. " Yue’er said with a smile.

"Alright, enough about that. Let’s eat first. Later, we’ll take you around town." Shen Shiqi said, picking up his chopsticks and serving himself a dish.

That day, Yue’er followed them around the city until dusk fell. Only then did the four of them escort her back to the Xiao family’s main gate.

"Go inside! Rest up these next couple of days. When the chance comes, come visit our master’s place. It’s far more interesting than here," Shen Shiqi said, his gaze lingering on Yun Qi.

"Thank you all for today. I’ll head inside now! As for what happens next... we’ll see." She flashed a sweet smile, waved to them, then knocked on the door and stepped inside.

"Come on! Let’s find a place to continue drinking." Shen Shiqi chuckled, leading the others away.

Inside the Xiao residence, Yue’er entered the courtyard and immediately spotted Xiao Junyan. She looked at the man standing there with mild surprise and asked, "Big Brother Xiao, what are you doing here?"

"You’re back?" Xiao Junyan approached her, glancing at her before asking, "Did you have fun today?"

"Mm hmm! Shen Shiqi and the others took me to lots of places to play and I ate so many snacks. I really had a great time today." She beamed, finding Shen Shiqi and the others quite entertaining after spending time with them.

"It’s my fault. Since returning here, I haven’t taken you out to enjoy yourself properly," Xiao Junyan said apologetically.

"Not at all! Big Brother Xiao accompanied me to the lantern festival last night. Besides, you have matters to attend to here. How could you possibly keep accompanying me everywhere?" she replied cheerfully.

"I’ll walk you back to your quarters," Xiao Junyan said, accompanying her toward the guest courtyard.

Outside her guest quarters, he paused. "I won’t come in. Get some rest early—you’ll need your strength for the secret realm in two days."

"Alright," Yue’er replied. After watching him leave, she had servants bring hot water to prepare for her bath.

Two days later

Yue’er followed Xiao Junyan and the other Xiao family members selected for this secret realm expedition to the mountain range of Mountain Vista.

Upon arrival, many others were already waiting there.

Eight families had sent representatives on this journey, with only twenty spots allocated per family. Consequently, every participant had been meticulously chosen.

Yue’er’s presence here was entirely due to Xiao Junyan’s influence; otherwise, the Xiao family would never have relinquished a spot for her.

"Since everyone is present, let us begin!" Shen Shiqi said, turning to the leaders of the other families.

The eight family leaders stepped forward and jointly activated the gate to the secret realm.
