Chapter 155: This treasure isn't for you (final part)

This chapter is updated by NovelFree.ml

Yun Jhin and his former reincarnation along with the three big fluff balls were currently swimming at their fastest speed towards the location of the underwater cave.

The cave was just below the fish that they killed, with a little bit of swimming they reached it and entered.

The natural lights of the cave were pretty bright considering their current location, there were mosses on the walls of the cave that lighted up the surroundings with a fluorescent green light.

Yun Jhin ignored the light as he started to walk forward along with the three little beasts, his former reincarnation knew that he wouldn't act like this unless the treasure that they were going to find would be as good as he said. So he immediately followed behind as he didn't want Yun Jhin to hog all of the treasure for himself.

The cave wasn't deep nor big, it was actually quite stifling, the walls were near each other and Yun Jhin had to hug the wall and walk sideways to go through, he could feel cold breathing come from the other side of the small corridor he was going through.

undefinedThe three beasts were in front of him, squeezing as best as they could, but due to their big stature, they could barely move through the thin openings.

Behind him moved his former reincarnation who was thinking of attacking him at this point, they were both so close to each other and since he could get the treasure by moving a few more meters in front of him, why would he need Yun Jhin's help anymore?

The thirst and greed of a cultivator was something that everyone got a hold of after they got their first cultivation resource, no matter how small, it would infiltrate the cultivator's brain and soul and transform them into betrayers and backstabbers, cultivation was like a drug, you couldn't stop from doing it unless you got such a high resistance to it that you couldn't get high on it anymore.

His former reincarnation closed his palm into a fist as he looked at Yun Jhin's back but then he thought for a little more as they walked slowly towards the exit of the corridor... what if there was something he couldn't deal with after they exited this narrow place?

Thus he decided against killing him for now, after a while they finally left the narrow corridor to arrive in a big empty chamber, Yun Jhin walked to the end of the chamber as he struck the rock pattern there, 3 times in 3 different ways, then he inserted his ki inside it to open the treasure chamber.

The cold breathing that impacted the both of them when they were traversing the narrow corridor appeared again, now it was so obvious that it was from a living being that Yun Jhin's former reincarnation was glad that he didn't kill Yun Jhin when he could.

The guardian fish from before wasn't put there by the one who left this treasure here, it was just attracted by the treasure's innate aura and made his home near the cave.

The true guardian of the treasure was a gigantic ice golem who was exuding icy breathing from his body.

Yun Jhin body started to burn as his inner ki flames started to appear around his body, at his cultivation base that was the only ki that he could use, he couldn't do anything else besides activating some flames around his body.

Yun Jhin's former reincarnation started to throw flames at the icy golem who was slowly activating to attack the intruders.

The three beasts started to take in deep breaths as they absorbed the icy breathing that the golem was exuding, their muscles started to expand as they launched themselves at the golem's big body trying to tackle it down so Yun Jhin and his former reincarnation could transform it into a puddle!

Yun Jhin looked on as the beasts successfully tackled the golem to the ground, he jumped towards the golems circular head and struck it three times with his fire engulfed fists. The head became deformed as Yun Jhin struck it three times in a row and his central control core started to break thus making the golem go on a rampage!

He started to thrash his arms around throwing away the beasts from his body and he launched all of his icy power from his body into his surroundings creating an ice ring that transformed Yun Jhin into an ice sculpture!

The beasts started to roar as their master was transformed into an ice sculpture, the more icy energy entered their bodies the stronger they became as their muscles inflated to the maximum capabilities of their bodies.

Yun Jhin's former reincarnation was still charging his ball of fire ki, it became so big that it was slowly reaching the ceiling of the cave, suddenly his eyes started to glitter as he threw the gigantic ball at the icy golem who was on a rampage.

The golem couldn't dodge the gigantic attack in time and half of his body turned into a puddle of water as he fell on one side and practically 'died'.

Yun Jhin remained frozen as the heatwave was absorbed fully by the body of the golem, if he wasn't thawed out of the ice sooner he would die of hypothermia

The three beasts didn't have any fire-based attacks so they couldn't heat the ice, and if they broke the ice with Yun Jhin's current situation there was a chance his body would break as well!

They needed to heat the ice good enough before trying to break it.

They looked towards Yun Jhin's former reincarnation but he already left them behind as he got closer to the treasure that appeared after they defeated the guardian.

It was an urn inscribed with runes that indicated it's usage, it could be used to create pills without the need of fire nor skill, all you had to do was put in the herbs in according to the order of the recipe and it would create the pill!

This was a very good treasure that anyone would kill for, pill masters were very rare and high and mighty, they would have their nose so up into the air that you would need to pay an arm and a leg along with the herbs for them to concoct you the pill you needed.

Yun Jhin's former reincarnation was so happy as he looked at the urn that he couldn't help but cheer and punch the air.

He easily took the urn into his spatial bag then put his attention on Yun Jhin's frozen form, he didn't know if he should help him in this situation or not... after all, he already got the treasure and a lot of help from him, he was pondering if to help him or just get rid of him at this point.

Suddenly the three muscled fluff balls were angrily glaring at Yun Jhin's former reincarnation as they started to growl and howl at him.

His former reincarnation frowned as he looked at the three beings, did they understand that he was thinking of killing him? But how close did these three became while he wasn't aware?

He frowned as he put his hand forward wanting to destroy these three beasts first, if they were so loyal to Yun Jhin that meant they would be useless to him.

Suddenly the beasts disappeared from his senses, as some mist appeared in the whole cave things started to become dangerous for Yun Jhin's former reincarnation.

He couldn't see nor hear anything, almost all of his senses were sealed at this point and he didn't know how did these three beasts do this while he took the urn.

Suddenly he felt two furry paws clutching his legs and two more clutching his arms, and another two caught him by the waist, it was as if he was tied to a cross!

A disappointed sigh could be heard from the mist as Yun Jhin appeared in front of his former reincarnation, the mist came from the puddle of water from the icy golem combined with the innate talent of the three beasts.

As for how Yun Jhin got out of the ice? He just overheated his body using his cultivation technique to the point that he injured himself as well.

He had no hair or eyebrows left and there were third-degree burns on his body along with frostbite, but he ignored everything as he looked into his former reincarnation eyes and said:

"I don't think this treasure is meant for you, my friend."

His former reincarnation tried to get out of his holding but suddenly he felt a deep pain inside his head and the beast's hold strengthened as well. Yun Jhin tsked as he continued to look into his eyes and he activated the seals that he put inside the information he gave him attacking his soul and inflicting a huge amount of damage on his measly soul space.

Yun Jhin's former reincarnation started to shout as a ki barrier of dark green color appeared around him and forced the three beasts away while severing their limbs.

Yun Jhin looked at the bleeding beasts that continued to stay near his former reincarnation regardless of their situation and shook his head as he said:

"Detonate."

All three beasts exploded at the same time destroying the barrier created by his former reincarnation and engulfing both of them in the explosion.

Yun Jhin coughed as he got up, since he was a little bit farther away and he used all of his ki until his body turned dry he escaped with his life, but one of his arms was crippled and the other was severed from the elbow.

He was surely going to die in this situation but he didn't care, he dragged his body towards his former reincarnation using his chin and got a good look at him, he was still breathing but he was looking as poorly as he was, he would also die pretty soon from the looks of things but Yun Jhin wanted to end him by himself!

He conjectured that he must kill his own former reincarnation as the people that he wronged for him to pass the test, now was the time to see if it was true or not!

His mouth quickly went towards his former reincarnation neck as he took a huge chunk out of it and then spit it out on his face.

His former reincarnation couldn't breathe anymore and due to the blood loss and the explosion from the self-destruction of three beasts meant that he was dead now!

Yun Jhin felt a pang of pain in his head the moment he killed his former reincarnation but also a liberation of some sorts.. it was like he was freer than before... like some things that he didn't need were forgotten. But then those memories rushed back at him and integrated into his memory palace along with some helpful information about the test.

Yun Jhin smiled as he realized that he was right, and there were also more benefits to the test itself compared to the inheritance!
