Chapter 1676 Unzoku's Power (Part 2)

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Just listening to the conversation unfolding in front of them was already teaching the three far more about Unzoku than they had learned in a long time. Every sentence Bliss and Lenny spoke peeled back another layer of understanding, and the more they listened, the clearer it became that Unzoku was not simply a powerful enemy acting on impulse.

Yet Kai couldn’t help but focus on one unsettling detail.

Why did Bliss and Lenny know this much?

This wasn’t surface-level knowledge. It wasn’t speculation or guesswork based on rumors or secondhand encounters. They were speaking with certainty, with the kind of confidence that only came from years of observation, experimentation, and hard-earned experience. The way Bliss described Unzoku’s abilities, his growth, his influence, and his limitations, made it painfully obvious that they had studied him extensively.

It also explained a great deal about Unzoku’s behavior.

If Unzoku truly possessed the overwhelming strength they described, then he could have wiped out entire packs without hesitation. He could have crushed resistance through sheer force alone. And yet, he hadn’t. Instead, he had chosen manipulation. Division. Fear. Conflict.

From the way Bliss spoke, it was clear that Unzoku needed chaos more than conquest.

“So let’s hear your plan, Bliss,” Jack said at last, stepping forward. His voice was calmer now, steadier than it had been moments ago. “If you’re capable of things beyond what we understand, then I’m willing to listen.”

There was a noticeable shift in his demeanor. The rage and desperation that had fueled him earlier were no longer in control. In their place was resolve, tempered by hope. For the first time since Lilly had fallen ill, Jack felt like he wasn’t fighting alone.

Bliss inclined her head slightly before responding.

“I can help suppress Unzoku’s powers,” she said. “But I cannot do it alone. To counter his influence, I will need a conduit, someone with a will strong enough to resist him.”

Her gaze passed over both Alphas.

“I can suppress part of his power myself, but the rest requires balance. If Unzoku is connected to all of you, then that connection can be accessed both ways. I will create a special artifact and bind it to the one with the strongest will.”

She paused, letting the weight of her words sink in.

“This artifact will prevent Unzoku from exerting direct control over you. However, even with my assistance, this will not be easy. The one chosen may not be able to fight at all. Their sole role will be to suppress Unzoku’s power for the duration of the battle.”

Silence followed.

Steve and Jack turned toward each other, and for a brief moment, neither spoke. Steve’s expression hardened as he made his decision.

“You fight,” Steve said firmly. “If one of us has to hold Unzoku back, it should be me. I’ve lived in fear of him for too long already. Jack, you’re stronger than I am, you always have been. Do what you can. End this.”

Jack opened his mouth to protest, but Lenny raised a hand.

“That may not be necessary,” Lenny said. “You’re forgetting something important.”

He stepped forward, his voice steady.

“The closer Unzoku is to death, the stronger he becomes. If we push him too far without preparation, we may not be able to defeat him at all.”

That single statement sent a ripple of unease through everyone present.

“So the safest option,” Lenny continued, “is not to kill him, but to seal him. Bliss and Steve will focus on suppressing his external powers. Jack and his forces will engage him directly, weakening his body. Meanwhile, I will prepare the seal.”

“A seal?” Jack asked. “Will that really hold him?”

“Only if the timing is precise,” Bliss answered. “The seal will cut him off from external sources of power, trapping him in an isolated space, almost like a world of his own. But if he remains too strong when it activates, he will break free.”

She looked at each of them in turn.

“That’s why we must wound him severely before the seal is completed. Every part of this plan depends on coordination. If even one step fails, the consequences could be catastrophic.”

Jack clenched his fists.

“And the reason you didn’t approach us sooner?” he asked.

Bliss didn’t hesitate.

“Because you weren’t ready,” she said simply. “Unzoku needed to push you. Break you. Force you to confront what you were willing to sacrifice. Only now do you have the will required to stand against him.”

The plan was dangerous. Flawed. Risky.

But it was also the first real solution any of them had heard.

“I have one question,” Steve said, his voice low. “If we seal him instead of killing him… doesn’t that mean he’ll eventually return?”

Bliss nodded.

“Yes. If sealed properly, he will be trapped for hundreds of years. But no seal is eternal. One day, he may break free.”

She met Steve’s gaze without flinching.

“But that is a problem for the future. Right now, this is the only way to save lives.”

The discussion slowly came to a close, and as the others focused on preparations, Gary, Kai, and Lupus stepped aside.

They huddled together, speaking in hushed voices.

“Does this actually help us?” Lupus asked quietly.

Kai exhaled.

“I don’t think so. Not directly,” he admitted. “Lenny is creating the seal. Bliss is suppressing Unzoku using Steve. This plan doesn’t exist in our time, unless they do.”

Gary crossed his arms, thinking.

“Then maybe we’re looking at this the wrong way,” he said. “Steve already told us what we should do.”

Kai looked up.

“You mean… tell them?”

Gary nodded.

“If they know who we are, where we’re from, then maybe they can give us what we need. Not a seal. Not suppression.”

His eyes narrowed.

“But a way to kill Unzoku for good.”
