The group knew that the Altered Gluttons were what they needed to deal with. They were the ones that were causing the most trouble and could also cause them the most harm. There was an issue as they were quite hard to spot among all of those that were there.Not all of them had drastically Altered appearances, but their strikes as well as their speed were overall just greater compared to others, and the regular Altered were already hard to deal with.
While fighting, one Altered Glutton, in particular, had grown almost giant in size, as big as a house. At the same time, there were reptile-like features on its body.
For one, a tail had grown out of the back of the Glutton, which had spikes leading down it.
While the rest of its body appeared to have reptile-like skin, rather than the torn piles of flesh that mixed with the fur, made it really look like a hybrid of creatures that had been mashed together into one. When it moved just shifting the position of its feet shook the ground nearby, it wasn't just heavy but with each breath it appeared as if it had power.
There was quite a worry as well, if the Glutton’s already ate everything on site, then this large one, just how much destruction would it cause if it went into the city.
"I'll deal with that one, I think it's more up my street," Austin said, and before the others could even say anything, Austin was charging forward.
As he ran, some of the Gluttons leapt toward him. When one got close, he controlled his horns at the perfect time, and they spiraled, hitting right in the center of the Werewolf.
The Werewolf was still alive and visibly moving, but Austin then moved his horn, twisting it as he continued to push forward so the body was moving to him. As his horn came close to him, and then delivered a heavy punch.
It hit the Werewolf and caused it to slide right off, into the distance and into where the rest of them were. As more came close, he was careful and cautious, ready to use his sharp horns at any moment.
More often, Austin had been using his condensed form.
It was superior in almost every way, giving him easier movement, more strength, and the somewhat ability to control part of the ground. One of the main things he had gotten better at using, though, were his horns.
This was now being used as a good barrier to stop the Gluttons from coming towards him. That was until he saw the large one turning its head and looking right at Austin.
He was still a distance away, but when it had its eyes set on him, that's when he saw what was happening next. It wound up its arm, stretching it back, and then it extended it forward, and just like all of the other Gluttons, even this giant one
Stretching out, Austin planted his feet as he braced for impact, and he twisted both of his horns forward.
His horns pierced into the giant hand, but it still hit him with a large amount of force.
Austin dug both of his feet in the ground as he was being pushed back. He could feel pain searing through his entire body due to the hit.
Until it had eventually stopped.
"Damn, I should have known, just because this thing was giant, that it would have been able to stretch its limbs like the others," Austin said as he coughed out a little bit of blood.
The Gluttons were sure strong, especially the Altered ones. Now, though, what Austin had to worry about were the other Gluttons that were ready to pounce on him.
Just before they reached him, a larger Werewolf that was by his side appeared and hammered a fist right into one's face.
The other had come towards him from the other side, but the Werewolf stabbed the Glutton with her nails, digging in deep, and for a moment, it almost looked as if the craziness in their eyes was disappearing.
"Marie!" Austin called out. "I can use my abilities to calm them down a bit, but it's not a permanent thing."
Marie's class was able to enhance other Werewolves, and that extended out to those outside of her pack as well.
However, it was more so influencing them with particular hormones to enhance certain parts of their strength, and she realized she could do that to dull down their Glutton-like nature as well.
"But I have a feeling that my nails aren't going to be able to do anything against a giant like that!" She claimed.
Seeing how Marie was giving him a chance, and seeing how the large Glutton Werewolf was going to cause them trouble, he knew what he had to do.
As Austin threw the hand to the side, he charged forward again, and he could see the Glutton's eyes locked in on him, and he knew what was coming next.
Its other arm was wound up again, ready for a punch, and just like last time, it extended out, ready to hit Austin.
Only moments before, Austin had entered a strange portal right in front of him, and the arm ended up hitting nothing but the ground.
The Glutton was confused and was looking around for its prey, when moments later, a portal had opened up right by its feet, and coming out of it was Austin, as he crashed into the giant leg. It flipped the entire Glutton's body, sending it crashing to the ground, and Austin wasn't done just yet.
