Chapter 1801 Saving The Enemy

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Gary held firmly onto Midwak's thick wrist, his own arm already fully transformed into its Werewolf state to handle the immense pressure. He held the monstrous limb steady, clearly feeling the raw, untamed strength violently surging through the Glutton's muscles, constantly fighting against his iron grip.

Gary wasn't sure if he would have been able to successfully stop Midwak's lethal strike from hitting its intended target if he hadn't partially transformed and actively used a concentrated part of his internal Qi to reinforce his bones.

In just this one brief physical interaction with the newly Glutton version of Midwak, Gary could easily tell that his former pack member had gained a truly massive amount of physical power since they last crossed paths.

"He was already an incredibly huge pain to deal with before all of this happened, and even when he finally stopped directly challenging me for the Alpha position, I clearly saw how he continued to relentlessly grow stronger and stronger with every fight," Gary thought as he tightened his grip. Then, he forcefully twisted his torso and chucked the heavy wrist entirely off to the side to break the tension of the clash.

The stretched arm rapidly retracted into its socket where Midwak's main body was located as the heavy beast landed smoothly on the cracked concrete ground. His monstrous body looked completely unharmed, brushing off the devastating impact of the two concentrated Blood Cannons that Rowa had desperately fired at point-blank range moments prior.

Gary knew exactly how dangerous this situation was, so he didn't waste any precious time holding back. He actively pushed his energy outward, going completely into his full Werewolf transformation. His muscles rapidly expanded as thick fur extended from his skin, and he lowered his center of gravity as he started to take slow, calculated steps off to the side of the ruined courtyard.

The two massive beasts looked like predators cautiously circling each other in an enclosed pit, curling their dark lips and aggressively snarling as they bared their razor-sharp teeth, ready for one or the other to make the first fatal move.

Then, as if an invisible bell went off loudly in both of their heads at the same time, they aggressively charged, violently kicking off the ruined ground and leaving deep craters where they had been standing.

The close-quarters fighting was incredibly fast and brutal, a blur of movement. Midwak threw a heavy, sweeping strike, aiming to take Gary's head off, but Gary swiftly stepped aside, seamlessly slipping under the wide guard, and delivered a devastating punch deep into the Glutton's exposed gut.

The sheer upward kinetic force of the blow lifted Midwak off the ground and into the air, but the Altered Glutton stretched his long hands out, reaching past Gary toward the floor. Although it initially seemed like he was reaching for Gary, Midwak had grabbed the solid concrete ground on both sides of the Alpha. Using his stretched arms to anchor himself, he forcefully pulled his heavy body back in and brutally kicked Gary in the chest with both legs.

Gary quickly crossed his thick arms and blocked the heavy double kick, but he skidded backward across the rough ground, digging his boots into the stone to stop his momentum. The hit was incredibly powerful. To immediately follow up, Midwak viciously swung his long arms, releasing highly energized claws that tore through the air toward the Alpha.

Matching this lethal threat, Gary swung his own muscular arms, and his dense, energized claws crashed into Midwak's attack, cancelling each other out in a loud clash of power.

[Lethal Pounce]

Quickly utilizing his system skill, Gary's body moved rapidly from side to side in a confusing, zigzag pattern, as he leaped into Midwak's personal space and slammed his heavy fist into the monster's face.

There was a visible, rippling shockwave in the air, and thick dust moved outward as the hit made solid impact with the bone. The Glutton, seemingly shaking off the severe pain that would have killed a normal Glutton, swung his massive body around to attack Gary once again.

As Gary landed, he blocked the incoming counterattack with his body, lifting his thick leg and armored arm to absorb the blow. This time, his entire body wasn't hit away or pushed backward across the concrete; he stayed firmly and immovably in place, using his cultivated Qi to anchor himself to the earth.

He seamlessly used the flowing energy to strengthen his physical body from the inside out, hardening his muscles and bones beyond their natural limits, planting himself down like an immovable mountain against the Glutton's relentless assault.

When he saw another strike coming from the mutated beast, Gary pulled his arm back and swung his fist forward. The two massive forces clashed knuckle on knuckle in the center of the courtyard.

The kinetic impact of the fists meeting created a massive, echoing shockwave, lifting the heavy concrete debris from the floor, sending jagged rocks flying off in different directions. As the dust cleared, Midwak's entire arm was mangled, the pressure shattering the dense bones and causing jagged splinters to protrude from his thick skin.

"Midwak... you have improved a whole lot since the last time we fought," Gary said, his chest heaving slightly as he looked at the injured beast. "If I was solely using my full Werewolf transformation right now, maybe we would be equal in terms of raw physical power, and that's saying a lot after everything I have been through and consumed to get to this point.

"But we simply aren't the same anymore, because I have different ways I can choose to fight now," Gary said quietly, looking down at his unharmed fist with the powerful Qi swirling around his knuckles, realizing this superiority was just in his normal, standard Werewolf transformed state.

Rowa watched from the sidelines in disbelief at the scale of the battle. He had been unable to permanently injure the Werewolf, and the two monsters were moving and striking at a terrifying pace that was hard to track. But one thing weighed on his mind: Gary had purposefully stepped in and saved him.

If Gary had decided not to stop the lethal attack, Rowa would have undoubtedly suffered a severe injury, or even death. It would have been the perfect chance for the Werewolf to get rid of a large, experienced opponent without lifting a finger.

Gary could claim it was an accident due to the chaotic events, yet he had chosen to save him.

Not too far away, in the burning remnants of the White Rose facility, Kai watched the fight from a dark corner.

'I'm watching your every move, Rowa, in case you try anything funny while his back is turned... but I'll leave this fight to Gary, because I know he'll handle this one,' Kai thought, trusting his Alpha to finish the job.
