Long Chen was shocked to find himself standing atop a lotus. It was an enormous lotus that filled the world, with the very stars lying beneath its petals.Standing on this lotus, Long Chen felt as though he was within the river of time, watching the starry river flow. He felt like a god, existing beyond the world.
At the center of the lotus, Long Chen looked through the spaces between the petals. Outside the starry river, there was only darkness—a deep, terrifying darkness. The more he looked, the more darkness he saw, and it felt as though countless pairs of eyes were staring back at him, making his hair stand on end.
This scene was eerily familiar, although not exactly the same. There were shocking similarities to the view of the cosmos from the perspective of the dragon expert. Now, Long Chen was seeing it again, and as he looked down, he saw a bottomless abyss of darkness.
Long Chen could tell that this azure lotus was rooted within this darkness, but he couldn’t see what existed below. Just as he focused on what was beneath, a voice rang out, startling him so much that he nearly cried out in fright.
“You’ve arrived!”
Long Chen’s heart almost jumped out of his chest. He hastily turned back, only to see someone else on the lotus. It was a woman, her back facing him. Her long hair cascaded down to her waist, and she wore flowing white robes. Despite only seeing her back, her beauty took his breath away.
Long Chen quivered. Her figure was all too familiar to him; he had seen her figure multiple times when obtaining volumes of the Nirvana Scripture.
“I’ve arrived!” said Long Chen. Despite it supposed to be a calm response, his voice choked in the middle and tears welled up in his eyes.
“You still managed to come. I knew that the hatred in your heart would awaken you.” The woman sighed and slowly turned around.
When Long Chen saw her beautiful face filled with warmth and love, he could no longer control his tears. They slowly flowed down.
It was her. She had appeared before him several times, and each time, he was filled with grief and sorrow.
Her eyes were filled with tender pity as she gracefully walked over to him, cupping his face with her hands. She smiled softly.
“You’re still so stubborn. Even though you’re no longer the old you, your eyes have never changed.”
Long Chen tried to speak, but emotion overwhelmed him, and tears flowed uncontrollably. He couldn’t utter a single word.
He could see her face clearly, but he couldn’t feel the warmth of her hands. He knew they were not in the same spacetime. However, just seeing her was enough to fill him with warmth—a warmth that pained his heart. This warmth was only a memory, a distant memory from a far-off past, and it would never appear again.
Her warmth could drive a person to fight to the death to protect her. She was like the purest holy land within a human’s heart.
Long Chen tried to engrave her image into his memory, but each time he saw her, while he could recognize her, he would forget what she looked like after she left.
The woman gazed at Long Chen tenderly, and suddenly, the lotus quivered.
This space shattered. A sword pierced through her back and out her chest, transforming into a strange horn. Countless vertical eyes opened on the horn, and sinister black qi instantly enveloped her body.
“No!” Long Chen roared and instantly pounced forward like a madman.
A figure merged into the darkness just as Long Chen lunged. As it emerged, Long Chen’s face twisted with fury.
“Lord Brahma!” Long Chen’s killing intent exploded, and he was driven to madness.
He realized that it was Lord Brahma who had killed this woman. Everything he was seeing here had occurred in the past. This woman was the Pill Sovereign, and all his memories related to the Pill Sovereign belonged to her.
“Xin Ran!”
Long Chen let out a heaven-shaking roar, not even knowing what that name meant, but still shouting it. He leaped onto the Pill Sovereign, now surrounded by black qi, but his hands passed right through her. She only had a form, but no physical body.
The Pill Sovereign looked at Long Chen with sorrow, cupping his face with her hands. Her lips moved, but he couldn’t hear a single word.
Suddenly, she vanished. With his head buzzing, Long Chen roared, and his killing intent exploded. The azure lotus reacted to his killing intent, swelling as flames burst from it.
The starry river ignited, and the very cosmos exploded with destructive power.
BOOM!
The azure lotus, the very world, and Long Chen himself all exploded in a cataclysmic burst.
.
As the scene before him vanished, Long Chen found himself back atop the stone platform, with Yu Qingxuan clutching his arm in concern.
At that moment, Long Chen’s face was contorted with such savage hatred that it was almost unrecognizable. Yu Qingxuan recoiled in fright, and Lu Chengkong turned pale, paralyzed by the sheer intensity of Long Chen’s killing intent. It was a terrifying force he had never encountered before.
“Long Chen, what’s wrong?!” asked Yu Qingxuan, her voice filled with worry.
After a tense moment, Long Chen’s face slowly regained its composure, though the fierce killing intent within him remained, coiled like a serpent ready to strike. He took a deep breath and managed to show them a strained smile.
“I’m fine.”
The moment Long Chen spoke, even he was taken aback by the sound of his voice—raspy and hoarse, resonating with an undercurrent of unrelenting fury and destructive will. Although he was trying to comfort Yu Qingxuan, his voice was filled with killing intent and a terrifying destructive will.
