My Little Girl (25)

After Sheng Gu and Sheng Lingyun arrived at the Tenth Class, Master Gao took time to explain the circumstances of the class to her. In the process he found out about Sheng Gu’s bad health. He asked a student to move to the back, and offered their chair to Sheng Gu so he could attend to her easily in the future.

Sheng Gu naturally saw Shu Nuan sitting at the back. However, she was feeling haughty in spirit and as a result, she calmly ignored Shu Nuan.

Shu Nuan also laid her eyes on Sheng Gu.

However, Shu Nuan only gazed at her and didn’t show any reaction. Then she lowered her head to write.

After arranging for his niece, Sheng Lingyun pretended to look around the hall. At last, he walked towards Su Hai’s seat and tapped his fingers on the table. “Fellow classmate, why don’t you sit over there instead?”

Su Hai looked sternly at the Seventh Prince with squinted eyes. In the end, he gave up his seat.

While Master Gao was in the middle of his lecture, Sheng Lingyun propped his chin up on one hand and scrutinized the little girl seated behind him. The longer he looked at her, the more pleasing she looked to his eyes. Not to mention the tear mole he discovered upon seeing her up-close for the first time. Her head was tilted down as she was writing, her tear-mole half-covered by her curled long eyelashes.

Suddenly, Shu Nuan raised her eyes.

At that moment, Sheng Lingyun looked at her directly, and he felt his heart skip a beat.

The prince did not know what sort of feeling it was, only that this Shu Nuan’s eyes were too pure to be real. Her clear eyes that looked innocent like a deer’s were beautiful. Like a calm, radiant pond they fell and locked into his eyes.

However, Sheng Lingyun could not even say a few words to her. He glanced at Shu Nuan but she remained indifferent. Then she continued to write with her head down.

Sheng Lingyun’s gaze moved all the way down from her face to her slender white fingers, which held the brush that birthed delicate handwriting akin to a scholar’s. Sheng Lingyun’s eyes finally fell onto the two words on her notebook. The corner of his mouth quirked up and he said two words, “Shu Nuan.”

Shu Nuan’s forehead deeply wrinkled while closing her notebook, and looked up.

Su Hai suddenly stood up and shouted, “Teacher, the Seventh Prince was bothering me while I was listening!”

Just as the words fell, Sheng Lingyun turned back and his expression changed. And inside the hall laughter that was hard to suppress was heard.

Master Gao was also quite embarrassed. If it had been his own student who had done this, he would have scolded them long ago. However, this man was the Seventh Prince.

“Ahem.” Master Gao coughed slightly and said, “Everybody, please pay attention.”

Even Sheng Lingyun behaved well after this move of Master Gao’s. But his gaze would still wander towards the direction of Shu Nuan.

But Shu Nuan just ignored him.

She did not know, however, that the more indifferent she acted, the faster she made Sheng Lingyun’s heart beat with excitement.

Sheng Lingyun thought about how in just a short period of knowing her, all his thoughts had come to be focused on this little girl named Shu Nuan.

After the class, Sheng Lingyun was about to take the initiative and go talk to Shu Nuan, but Sheng Gu approached him first. There were still people around, but Sheng Gu does not hesitate to ask, “Seventh Uncle, would you like to go to ShengHe manor later?”

Sheng Gu’s tone was intentionally intimate, as if she was showing these people that she was warm and of a different ilk from them. She had the status of a princess, kin of the Emperor himself.

“Ahem.” Sheng Lingyun coughed a little.

If it were in the past, he would not want to bring himself and make trouble for his Fourth Brother. However, he thought of Shu Nuan, deciding that afterwards he should go to ShengHe Manor for a while. Proof of his excitement, his heart beated rapidly. He smiled and agreed to Sheng Gu’s proposal.

However, when Li Yuan came to pick them up, Shu Nuan uttered, “Eldest Brother Yuan, please escort Princess Gu to the Manor. Teacher asked me to stay for a while, so I will go back after the practice.”

Sheng Lingyun frowned at this and was about to say something, but his niece first said,

“Then let’s go.”

For Sheng Gu, this was exactly what she had hoped for. She didn’t want to go back with Shu Nuan.

The princess had always felt that sitting in a carriage with a slave was beneath her.
