My Little Girl (51)

Although her face still had the makeup on and looked enchanting, at the moment it was cold, as if a thin layer of frost had congealed on top. Her gentle voice sounded different from the play too.

Her eyes were cold yet alluring and lips a deep shade of red.

Finding her to have become even more enticing, his eyes grew more shameless.

The Seventh Prince’s brazen gaze landed on Shu Nuan’s red lips and didn’t leave. He stuck out the top of his tongue and licked his lips at an angle. In a blatant manner, he asked, “Fourth Brother came to see you a while ago, didn’t he? Do you even carry on your affair… at places like the academy? It must be quite exciting…”

“Prince Sheng awaits me outside,” Shu Nuan said in a flaccid tone.

Hearing these words, Sheng Lingyun’s reason returned to him. He blinked and let go of her hand. He was about to say something, but Shu Nuan left without looking back.

He looked at the petite figure drawing further away, and thought of something that stirred his emotions…

Shu Nuan’s weak figure, her appearance, her small hands, and her voice all indicated that she was a delicate girl. But after getting in touch with her this day for a few moments, Sheng Lingyun only felt her emit a cold atmosphere.

This little girl was quite indifferent.

“Fourth Brother likes a girl so cold?”

After leaving the academy’s main grounds, Shu Nuan found Sheng Qianmo still standing under the stone steps, waiting for her and looking as indifferent as ever. Without any signs of impatience, his figure was shrouded in the dark. She began to walk on his long shadow. But just as she was about to take her second step, he turned his head to look at her trying to sneak up on him. Smiling, he stretched out an arm to pull her by the hand. His keen eyes didn’t miss the redness of her wrist. Wrinkling his brows, he asked, “What happened?”

“I just met the Seventh Prince,” Shu Nuan whispered.

Sheng Qianmo narrowed his eyes. “Did he do anything to you?”

Shu Nuan shook her head and explained the matter to him in brief. Sheng Qianmo let go of her hand and ordered. “Wait here for This Prince.”

He didn’t say how long to wait for him, or what he was leaving to do. But she just nodded obediently.

Yet, Shu Nuan didn’t have to wait for long. She sat on the stone steps in silence, her small hands holding her knees. From time to time she’d move her gaze to the stones and sand on the ground and play with them.

When Sheng Qianmo came out, he saw Shu Nuan sitting on the stone steps with her head bowed and hands playing with the sand. And hearing the sound of footsteps from behind her, Shu Nuan raised her head to take a look. Patting her little hands clean, she stood up. She took the initiative to hold out her hand for the prince, and then pretended to wipe her dirty hands with his clean sleeve.

The prince caught a glimpse of her actions, but he didn’t say anything about the little mischief. He just smiled and took her away from the academy.

“The last time I went out with Your Highness, I saw some dragon’s beard candy [1] selling on the street.” Walking in the street, Shu Nuan held his hand.

Sheng Qianmo’s smile deepened. “Then why didn’t I see you eat it the last time?”

Shu Nuan got a little embarrassed. She was aware she had blurted out those casual words, so her ears turned a little red.

Sheng Qianmo knew she was embarrassed, and he didn’t bother her any further. He took her to find the dragon’s beard candy she hadn’t gotten to eat the last time.
