They didn't see the people chasing behind Sam.All they saw is few humanoid figures flashing through the air, emanating different elemental energies. They couldn't even see their faces clearly because of their speed.
"Did we hear him right? His orange star… something about treasure. What do you guys think?"
"Those attacks are certainly familiar. They definitely feel like the attacks are from the top ten rankers in the realm. And except for them, no one is strong enough to attack Sam to that extent. There might indeed be treasure."
"But…"
The discussion continued in the next couple of minutes. They do have some suspicions, but that doesn't mean the curiosity will go away just like that.
They are way too curious and… greedy.
There is no way a bunch of Olympian followers are not greedy about something that could potentially make the top ten rankers to fight among themselves like this. Even though they do know that they couldn't do shit about it in the fight between the rankers, they do something called 'hope'.
It's a bitch that makes you feel delusional in situations like these. These people are weak enough to die of aftershock from battle between Sam and White, but they are now thinking of doing something along the lines of tailing Sam.
"Let's go and take a look. With the way their battle is going, they are bound to leave a bunch of traces. Let's just follow them and take a look. We need to see what got the rankers all riled up."
And just how Sam appeared and attracted their attention before, right now, he also garnered the attention of a lot of people with this ploy.
In fact, he was lucky enough to encounter, Watt and Philip as they roamed around and made them directly be a part of his plan. He just made them replace the humanoid illusions he created with the base of his shadow undead.
The whole mountain area was a mess within a few minutes. By the time, Dayus who was climbing the mountain eagerly, reached the peak, Sam was already there with his two friends.
Dayus frowned at this and took out his spear.
"Get out, I reached first, this is mine."
Dayus spoke with utmost vigilance. He couldn't even handle Sam alone, on top of that he had two of his friends with me.
"That's not going to happen. Do you really think you are the first one here? I came here way before you."
"Then since you left, you can just keep off the mountain. Now this is mine."
He gritted his teeth and willed the special orange star to move closed to the special inscription circle laid down on the peak.
The star moved swiftly, but before it could touch the circle, Sam star moved as well. At the same time, Dayus felt a massive spatial fluctuation behind him.
He instinctually dodged, the place he was about to land, a spatial tear appeared making him move farther away. The star that was close to the inscription circle followed behind Dayus. Meanwhile Sam's star became closer, however he didn't let the star touch the circle. He instinctually knew that once the star touches the circle and merges with it, there is only one last step before the legacy inheritance could be his.
He doesn't even have to absorb the inheritance, he can just acquire like it is any other object.
Dayus noticed Sam's weird behavior and yelled.
"What the fuck do you want? You are not doing it and you are not letting me do it. Do you have a fucking screw loose?"
"Kind of."
Sam smiled and replied as he looked at the horizon.
A bunch of groups are coming from different directions and Dayus who was levitating because of Sam's antics became their visual target.
"Welcome the guests."
As soon as Sam said that, Watt and Philip started putting on a perfect show. They threw a bunch of attacks aimed at Sam, but missing them of course. Dayus was also targeted, but they didn't have to miss him.
The fight continued for the next five minutes before the fastest of the chasing groups already climbed the mountain.
Sam finally started the merging process of the star and the circle.
It actually didn't take a long time to do it. It was quite fast in fact.
However, once the circle started giving out that orange glow of the star, a timer appeared on top of it.
A command appeared in Sam's mind.
"Defend the circle until the timer runs out and the legacy inheritance is yours."
Once the timer started, Sam's grin widened.
Dayus became furious. Because his orange star disappeared. All the effort he put in collecting that star, even sacrificing his position in the rankings… it disappeared.
Now, Sam laid his claim on the legacy inheritance and he has to defend it for the next few minutes to acquire it.
Of course, once Sam acquires it, anyone can kill him and take it for themselves before he merges it with himself or someone else.
However, Dayus was not stupid enough to believe that someone could that easily take away the legacy inheritance from Sam.
At least definitely not within this pocket dimension.
By now, Sam's attention was diverted to the rest of the crowd. With a wave of his hand, all the blood and bruises he had on his body disappeared. He looked as good as new.
"This treasure is mine. If anyone is confident that you can defeat me in this short amount of time, they can come and fight me. Otherwise, turn around and leave. Focus on the pocket dimension test and at least, you will have some benefits left for you.
Or, I might just plunder every single star that you painstakingly collected in the past two days."
Sam's warning brought semblance of clarity to these people.
The presence of a treasure was something they didnt expect and from the orange stars they witnessed, they are sure that it is only triggered by special conditions. They are very tempted to see what it actually is.
But fighting with Sam… no one is looking forward to that.
Dayus gritted his teeth and he was also very tempted to make a move. But he looked at Philip and Watt.
He knew how loyal these guys are to Sam. Even the temptation of legacy inheritance is not enough to make them fight against Sam. They might even chuckle and scoff at it.
He cannot trust the others on top of that. He is also tempted to reveal that Sam is in possession of legacy inheritance. That will surely rile up and increase other's motivation. The only problem is that, out of spite Sam might reveal the information of other legacy inheritances.
He doesn't know how much information Sam knows, but he doesn't want to find out in a hard way. That will make Dayus lose the rest of the inheritances.
"FUCK"
He cursed out loud, not knowing what to do and his frustration only grew as more and more people started gathering at the mountain.
Some familiar faces like Bronte and other members of Noble league appeared and they were soon followed by White, Philip and the rest.
"Seems like we have quite the party here." Sam muttered as he smirked at White.
White frowned and looked at Dayus whose frustration was apparent. He landed beside him and asked in a whisper.
"Is this treasure related to the benefits your promised?"
Dayus pursed his lips and nodded.
"What are the conditions for him to lose the treasure?" white asked again.
"We need to attack the inscription circle with enough strength. Once the damage reaches a certain extent, his star will be unmerged and the other orange stars will be activated again."
Dayus explained, but White didnt understand.
"Orange Stars?"
Dayus sighed and said.
"Let's just say, if we damage the circle enough, I can try to claim the treasure and then we will have to defend it."
"Okay, let's do it then." Dayus was a bit stumped.
White looked at him and said.
"Our special team members are here as well. I am sure, both of us can handle Sam, they will attack the inscription. After that, you can claim the circle while I will keep Sam at bay. Later, we can fight with him again. Sam doesn't have any allies here."
Dayus pursed his lips.
That is actually a feasible plan. In fact, he also noticed his teammates, the only problem is that Sam's friends are here. He is not sure that they will stay put.
Once they make the move, he highly doubted his teams capability to endure their onslaught.
"I heard his bond improved with other freshman rankers. Are you sure, they won't side with him?"
Dayus asked and this time White also thought that it was a great possibility. He looked at them and went into a deep thought. At that moment, Dayus suddenly had an idea.
He whispered in White's ears.
White looked at Dayus in surprise.
"Are you sure about that?"
