Bewulf felt embarrassed by the elder’s comment, but there is nothing much that he could do.He indeed wanted to beat the crap out of his son, but he couldn’t bear to. He could only swallow the bitter taste.
But before he could digest that... some more bitter news came to him flying.
A guard came running and reported...
The report made Bewulf’s throat go dry. He ran out of the building and soon arrived at the location of the first incident. It’s one of the herb workshops designed and operated to a process a specific herb that is primarily native to the saxon territory in Darkhan.
This is one of the primary exports they sell to other territories.
Right now, the whole workshop is buzzing with small spatial tears, chaotic spatial energy and even more corrosive shadow energy.
Over a dozen people, all of them at initiation stage, were on the ground, most of them dead and a few of them corrupted with shadow energy, almost dead.
But more than any one of them, there is one person that attracted Bewulf’s attention the most.
He couldn’t feel any energy fluctuations from the body, not even the residual ones that are emitting from the rest of the dead. However, there is a huge gaping hole in the stomach of this man and it looked like a portal opening to a different dimension. Shadow dimension to be precise.
And it’s closing pretty fast.
That energy was very familiar to him. He just experienced it a few hours ago.
He clenched his fists in frustration, before he walked to the second location. A similar scene, this time in their weapon workshop.
Third incident was similar, but in their medicine making workshop.
This city being their capital always had been the hub with all their key workshops and buildings. Now, three of those key buildings, albeit low level, were destroyed just like that.
He called for the witnesses and asked them the exact details.
The witnesses of all three places, said almost the same thing.
A man’s limp body appeared out of thin air and fell on the ground. When they examined and probed the body, something triggered. A spatial crack tore open the stomach of the body and the shadow energy enveloped the whole area.
Before they could react, a bunch of shadows jumped out of the shadow world and killing their counterparts here. The shadow energy without any limiter, just corrupted everyone that came in contact to it.
Even without thinking, Bewulf knew exactly who caused this devastation.
"Sam."
He muttered under his breath, trying to control his anger.
Mostly, because first he needed to figure out, how exactly Sam accomplished this.
The three bodies that acted as triggers for the incidents are definitely Saxons, but bewulf doesn’t know who they are and which part of the territory they are from.
What method did Sam even use to turn them into triggers? He doesn’t know.
What method did Sam use to send these guys so deep into the city? He doesn’t know.
Can Sam do this infinitely without any restrictions? He doesn’t know.
But he needed the answers desperately.
He immediately started contemplating if he should just tear off all the decorum, kill Sam in a single sweep and then use the rest of the factions to pressure Parth to not make a move.
However, Bewulf also knew that the plan while seemingly logical would backfire terribly.
The only thing he could actually do at the moment was to go back to the building, squeeze his hands in anger while trying to get a convincing answer from his elders that could at least put him at ease.
Meanwhile.
Sam went to Hastin village for his first training session with his new teacher.
Parth was waiting for him at the training arena. And he had two ordinary bows with him
"I though you completely bailed today. It’s a good thing you came."
"Why would I bail on such an amazing opportunity? You are the dream teacher of almost every kid on this planet. I am getting your teachings... bailing would be stupid of me.
"Okay first rule, let’s not give each other anymore praises. We are aware of our greatness, and it is better to refer to it for every single thing."
"Alright. That works for me."
"Okay, next let’s start practicing the basic archery.
It is not about speed, or accuracy. It is just about the form. Only form and nothing else. Just mark the target and close your eyes.
Try to hit the same spot as many times as you can.
Just feel the pull of the string, the bend of the bow, the tension they both develop when you are pulling an arrow.
Listen to the air cutting through, and the arrow hitting the target.
I want you to be able to experience on such a ground level.
You need to get to the root of the technique.
For now, you need to keep doing it daily. As many times as you can, with zero spiritual energy.
I will be monitoring you. I would know the moment you achieved that I want you to achieve and I will move to the next target.
"Okay."
Sam nodded and took one of the bows. He started practicing carefully. Very carefully.
For every arrow, he took quite some time. He didn’t rush it. Just like Parth said, he felt every single arrow. He not only did not use his spiritual energy, he actually sealed it completely.
*TONG*
*TONG*
The training ground reverberated with the sound of the bow.
After a few minutes, noticing that Sam is diligently practicing, Parth followed the exact same thing.
He sealed his own energy and started shooting arrows.
His consciousness focused on the arrows alone.
The practice didn’t stop until late into night.
"It is enough for now. I want you to come early tomorrow. We will continue the practice."
Sam bowed down and left Hastin village. He went back to the base.
He still had a lot of plans to execute before the next reward points are given.
