Chapter 2583: Wrath

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Akhil is flying on the back of a bird type beast, looking at the vast expanse of land in front of him.

He could see a huge, flourishing city and all the fields the people in the city controlled. It was one of the subsidiary territories under him.

Usually he didn’t like working with people. So, he used beasts most of the time. However, they are not good at managing his territory. So, he figured he might as well use the few of his loyal followers along with the natives of the land that he conquered.

He just made the locals rule themselves, but nominally became their superior. He would gain benefits and in return he would help them solve their problems.

The city he is eyeing is one of the first territories that he came across.

He defended the city with his beasts and fend off all the attackers. It was the prime resource with land that could grow all kinds of herbs. So, he even made them plant herbs that are in high demand in the academy realm.

He used the designs and techniques from the hub, and increased their efficiency.

Now, this city had turned its back on him because some other guy from the same Sun Wukong academy gave them more benefits and guaranteed that they will be protected.

He is pissed.

Like really pissed.

Akhil waited for three more minutes, his frown deepened more and more with each passing second. Finally, a group of five appeared, followed by dozens of warriors carrying various weapons.

The man leading the five man group is someone he is extremely familiar with.

"Why are you occupying this city?"

Akhil asked.

"Come on, buddy. It is not like we are occupying it forcefully. It’s the decision of the academy. With the huge amount of herb production from here, you being in charge is not a good thing.

After all, you are neither skilled in herb production nor skilled in business.

The elders are afraid the city will swindle you, or you might be overwhelmed to manage it properly. And if you make a mistake in the farming process, everything will go down the drain

So, we are just taking over for you."

"Then why was a change of ownership involved?" Akhil asked and breath raced a bit. His hands felt extremely itchy as he heard those words.

"Of course, that’s also the decision of the elders. They are fair and just and felt that it’s wrong to make us work for nothing.

So, they gave us seventy five percent of the ownership, which all five of us will share. You will still have twenty five percent all for yourself. You should be enjoying the major benefit with almost no work at all."

"You are taking away 75 percent of my benefits and its supposed to be a fair resolution?"

"Yes..." The leader was about to speak, but the sidekick beside him seemed to have lost the patience a bit too early.

"Oyy, Akhil. Its already good that you have twenty five percent. You don’t have to show up to manage this place.

You will still have a good source of points. Why are you whining so much?

Don’t you know what’s good for you?"

Akhil finally lost it. His staff appeared in his hands...

*SWIISH*

It ripped through the air and landed heavily on the head of the guy who was talking trash. The head exploded into paste of bones, grey matter and blood. Akhil didn’t even do a ranged attack. He actually jumped straight at them.

The blood sprayed on his face. A weird scent clouded his senses for a fraction of the second. His brain felt a bit stifled. His breathing raced up more.

He wanted to scream and yell. But more than that, he wanted to break.

The remaining four already got ready and jumped him. Akhil didn’t even care about blocking their attacks. He just swiftly moved. Fast enough that he completely dodged their attacks and then landed his own moves.

For one guy, the staff hit straight in the torso from the side. The staff exploded the flesh, broke the ribs and ripped the lungs away. He fell from the sky and died.

Another hit, broke the neck of another guy to piece and exploded the flesh connecting the head and the torso, making the head fall off.

The remaining two died with bodies exploding from inside with just one hit each. They didn’t stand a chance.

Akhil won just like that. But instead of feeling relief. He felt overly frustrated. He just felt like killing more. He turned to the group of dozens of people with weapons.

They were still in the state of slight shock. They didn’t expect that Akhil would make a move.

They are the natives of the city and they got the favor of Akhil. However, when the benefits from the other students came knocking, this particular group of people spearheaded the betrayal and turned on him.

This very thought for some reason brought on a rage that Akhil wasn’t used to.

He usually would have commanded his beasts to make the first move, but this time he didn’t.

He lunged at them and attacked them recklessly. He was too fast and too skilled for these people. He was killing one person with one move. Still, with so many people he was bound to get hit. However, for some reason, he neither cared about blocking or dodging them.

He just took the hits on the stride and just kept fighting.

He ignored the pain and bleeding. Like it wasn’t his own body that was suffering.

His rampage went on and on, until he was hit by a mental attack.

All of a sudden, Akhil regained some clarity.

And with a command, a beast appeared out of thin air, caught him and took him away.

It dropped him in a river not too far away. The cold water washed the blood away, and finally some semblance of sanity came back to him.

He realized what his calamity is... Wrath.
