Chapter 2610: Villages

Philip took out a metal pillar and installed it in the ground. Then from the storage he took out a puppet.

Its another skeletal puppet. Made with the skeleton of one of the reptilian creatures of this land. And it is also one of the new model puppets that Sam made.

The skeleton doesn’t have too many other additional bones or structural installments. Not even metal ones. Only in the rib cage are where most of the organs of the creature were originally stored, there is a special circulation mechanism and the energy engine powering the whole puppet.

This is also new type of energy engine that Sam had created... After discovering how he could siphon out the endless energy from the shadow realm, Sam just clicked with a bunch of new inventions and modified a lot of old ones.

Most of this puppet’s current mechanism is dependent on that.

Philip setup the puppet, and then opened a crystal tablet with all the data. After checking some details, he started adjusting something in the puppet’s core mechanism.

"This should do."

With that, he activated the puppet.

*SWOOSH*

With a loud noise, the puppet is activated and at the same time, the skeleton is covered completely with fire. And it is not ordinary fire, it looked like pure concentrated fire elemental energy, just in an extremely volatile state.

It basically took the space of the flesh, and other body systems within the puppet.

Then he activated the metal pillar along with it.

A mile away from the point of the metal pillar.

Inside the forest, a reptellian beast that looked very similar to the puppet that Philip just unlocked is grazing on the grass.

It had dark skin, between brown and black almost. And the scales are sturdy. It looked as if a chameleon had a vertical spine. Even its spine bent in a perfect curve as it brought its head down to graze.

And all of a sudden, the beast stopped grazing and stood straight. Its eyes lost their life in them. It looked mechanical almost as it ran towards a specific direction. And it is not just that one beast. Every beast of the same species did the same.

Whatever they were doing, even in the middle of mating, all of them stood straight in a mechanical manner and ran.

Within no time, all of them gathered around the beast puppet that Philip just unleashed.

Dozens of beasts, all of them at pretranscendent stage of various levels. They gathered around the puppet. They stood the same way the puppet stood, as if all of them shared just one brain.

Philip watched the show and implanted several tags on their bodies.

"Let’s see if this works."

He started controlling the puppet and input only one command.

"Attack the village and kill the pretranscendent stage cultivators. Make sure the rest stays alive and then hold the village. Secure them to the best of your ability. Activate the reinforcement protocol if people of higher level appear."

That was all he had to speak to the tablet and the puppet along with the beasts moved. The metal pillar disappeared into the ground.

The guards at the village of course, saw the disturbance and even sent the message. They activated the formation across the village and got ready.

When the puppet came straight at them, they saw the huge horde of the beasts following behind...

They got ready with their moves, but they immediately knew that they might not win. Just the sheer number is a bit too much.

But what surprised them even more, is just how neatly organized the beast horde is...Like extremely organized.

They would put trained soldiers to shame.

The beasts surrounded the village and started the attacks... they are not blindly moving.. Each attack was aimed precisely at where the soldiers are on the village walls. But the formation blocked their moves...

The puppet at the lead stopped for a moment and scanned the formation... then it aimed at a specific spot of the formation... to the soldier’s surprise the rest of the beasts also aimed at the exact same spot.

The consecutive attacks, started battering the formation and before the soldiers could digest such coordinated strike, the formation exploded.

The soldiers who were close to the barrier got pushed back and some of the homes inside felt the brunt too.

"Quick... we need to inform our boss... this can’t be happening."

One of the soldiers was too shocked and kept muttering.. But the captain regained his senses a bit faster and sent the situational report immediately. But right after he did...

*BOOM*

An energy blast hit him squarely on the head. Like a ball thrown from far away, it took a huge curve in the sky before it hit him precisely.

He was stunned and unable to move. The beasts entered the village. The soldiers couldn’t comprehend how these creatures are throwing the energy blasts. They lived in this area all their lives and has seen this species so many times.

But they never saw them throw these energy blasts before...

Before they could comprehend the situation though...the beasts tore through them and feasted on their flesh.

And just like Philip commanded, not a single of those attacks actually hit a regular citizen, or a cultivator below pretranscendent stage...

This is just one village, but simultaneously, the other villages targeted by Sam’s friends were also attacked, almost in the exact manner.

All the guards are dead and the villagers are trapped inside...

Back at Shimmy’s base...

*BOOM*

He shattered the strategy table into splinters..

"SAM...."

Shimmy, the guy who is always so calm about everything screamed at the top of his lungs...everyone within a few mile radius heard it and at that time, enduring all of it, an assistant brought a message to him.

"Sam here...you gave me the location of the spirits...I will get them back... but I don’t even need to give you the location of the villages...you know where they are...can you get them back?

I will give you two hours. Without breaking the rules, get them back if you can.

After that, you won’t be able to get them even if you want to."
