This commotion, of course, caused a great disturbance from outside and inside the city. Inside a white tower at the very top within the grand church, a man in white robes was sitting behind a desk when he heard the news. "What!? What do you mean the gates were destroyed!? That is impossible! There should be no way for such a thing to happen. This whole city is protected by Nomia!"
"I do not know your grace. I only know a demi human destroyed the gate after being refused access!" The priest in front of him shivered as he explained the details, causing the man behind the desk to slam his fist off of it.
"This… How can a single demi be a match for our guards!? Should they not be almost starved to death with no strength!?" The man behind the desk asked. He was at a loss as to how this was even possible.
.
" I am not sure… I only know they blew it up, and now they have entered the city along with the crowd behind them. The main gate is a mess." The priest explained.
"Send everyone out and kick anyone out who has not paid for their spot inside the city! If they refuse, just kill them. Make sure you get that door fixed by tonight. " The middle aged man ordered before weaving the priest off. In all honesty, he was a little nervous. He only felt safe because he was in the city that the Angel Nomia had created in order to protect humanity from the evil god. But now the evil god was back, but there was no Angel anymore to protect them. With the doors broken, not only would the city fill up with waste from the outside who could not pay the few to become a chosen one, but even those in the grand chapel would be at risk. He had been doing his best to kill off the unchosen, but they did not seem to want to die. The unchosen were not people who deserved to live now that judgment was upon them. The only sanctuary that will be around after the world falls to the evil god would be his holy city.
Many kings, queens, emperors, and empresses have squandered their countries' treasuries to enter the city. They were mighty people who deserved the best of treatment. Food stores were already limited and would be rationed out according to rank. They had a massive well which allowed for plenty of drinking water for the citizens and the crops. They were a self sustained city and could easily live peaceful lives. But now, this may come to ruin if the unchosen entered the city and began screwing things up! His people must put an end to all of this quickly.
Unfortunately for the middle aged man. The person who was leisurely walking down the street with her hands behind her head as if the guards surrounding her had nothing to do with anything while she happily chatted at the human figures around her. The guards did not dare go near her too much because they had seen what happened to those that did. They could only hope she would not attack the towns people.
"Kana, where are we headed?" Aruya asked.
"To the most expensive looking building to talk to the person in charge. It only seems right to question those who are in charge and ask why they are not assisting everything they can instead of taking cash bribes and to ask why they are making the lives of the people outside harder than it needs to be. And if they do not give me a satisfactory answer, we will just replace the one governing this city." Kana's goals were simple. She would not kill anyone unless provoked.
They continued forward until they came to a stop at a large intricate, decorated gate that showed some kind of fight between an angel and what looked like a demon of some kind. She walked right up to it and kicked it open since she knew no one was going to open it for her. Her action, of course, alerted the guards within the massive chief that looked more like a grand palace than an actual church.
"Halt! Do not go any further! This is the holy grounds of the Angel Nomia! No one is allowed to set foot here except the priest of Nomia!" One of the guards yelled out. He, along with the other guards, all drew their swords and pointed them at Kana.
Aoi was about to make a move, but Kana stopped her as she yelled out: "I want to speak to whoever is in charge. If they do not come out and speak to me, I will lay waste to this precious city he is trying to covet for himself and the high class."
"You! Do you think you can just yell out baseless threats, and we will do as you say!? You are nothing more than a..." The man turned to ash in an instant from Kana's flame, causing the others to shrink back. The one who seemed to be in command quickly signaled to another guard in the back, who turned and ran towards the church.
Seeing this, Kana smiled and nodded to the guard. "It seems someone is not dumb. I did not come here to start a slaughter, but my patience is running out, and I am a busy person."
"Someone who can make a decision will be here soon. I ask you to please wait." The guard who spoke was the same one who sent someone in, which probably meant he was the leader or second in command after the other guy turned to ash.
After a while, an older man with a white beard and a white robe came walking over, followed by three other people plus the guard who went in to get someone. The white bearded man looked at Kana and frowned but still kept an amiable smile on his face. "Miss How can I help you?"
