Jiang Yao’s mood was good as they continued through the wilderness. They soon reached the areas where Luo Xiao was capable of putting up a fight against the beasts that they encountered, and their advancement slowed.
Previously, Jiang Yao had killed the beasts they came across with a simple wave of his hands. While they had already gotten an extreme amount of treasures, Luo Xiao was against wasting resources, so he dug out every beast core and took the more valuable items on these beasts before leaving the carcasses on the ground.
Little Gold had fallen asleep due to the sheer amount of energy that it had consumed from the dragon heart, alongside the heritage that had been implanted in its mind.
Luo Xiao had thought that the little dragon would sleep for a long time; however, after a day, the little beast woke up. It had matured well, and was behaving like a five-year-old child.
While this seemed that it was rather young, it was frightening that a beast had such an outstanding intellect right after hatching from an egg..ᴄᴏᴍ
Luo Xiao did not know what it meant, but Jiang Yao was aware that this beast was even more frightening than a pure Five-Clawed Golden Dragon.
Little Gold was extremely affectionate towards Luo Xiao. They found out that it was a little girl, and her heart could not be swayed. She felt a strong connection to him, and the two of them were like real siblings.
Jiang Yao glanced at the little dragon, which was nestled on Luo Xiao’s shoulder, wrapped securely around his neck, and felt a mixture of emotions.
He was very pleased knowing that Luo Xiao had such a companion. He was, however, not pleased with being somewhat ignored, but he understood that the little beast was still a novel thing to him, and that it was newborn, so he felt a need to protect and pamper it.
On the way back, they kept training against the beasts that they encountered. Luo Xiao was also allowing Little Gold to play with these beasts; however, the result made him depressed.
While he struggled to fight against the beasts in this area, Little Gold could kill them as quickly as Jiang Yao.
It was not that he was extremely strong, his strength was similar to Luo Xiao, but he had an innate aura which frightened the other beasts, making them sluggish and unable to withstand his pressure.
Luo Xiao, Jiang Yao, and Little Gold hurried through the forest. While they kept training on the way, their hearts were not completely focused. They wanted to find a secure environment, and use some of the treasures they had gained in the cave. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ
While many of the herbs were best used for refining medicine, others could be used to concoct medicinal liquids.
Luo Xiao was not as skilled with pill refining yet, but medicinal liquid concocting was quite simple, as it did not require the actual pill forming process.
The liquids that he could create would be able to enhance his body. He had always been weak and sickly, and even though he was now a cultivator, he cultivated the soul.
It was true that his body was no longer as weak as before, but it would become much better after soaking in the medicinal liquids he could concoct. He could even change the physique he had now.
Jiang Yao was equally interested. He had consumed the remnant of the dragon heart and the Moon Anise, causing his cultivation base to be rock solid, and his realm to increase.
Even so, he was never going to decline a way to enhance his strength. Qi cultivators had elemental affinities. Jiang Yao had an affinity for darkness and ice, and some of the treasures he had found in the cave were able to boost the elemental affinity with these two elements.
In fact, he had found treasures that would help with all elements, but he could only consume those two, as these were the elements he controlled.
However, they both knew that these treasures should not be taken out in the forest.
While the trio made their way through the dense thicket, another scene played out in the cave. A young and beautiful woman, who seemed ethereal, walked into the cave. She did not look much older than twenty, but her eyes showed the vicissitudes of life.
She had expected many things upon entering the cave, but she had not guessed that everything would have been taken away. Her brows could not help but furrow, and her eyes flashed with annoyance, yet no killing intent could be found.
She searched the cave before she took out a small pearl. The pearl shone with a soft and gentle light, but suddenly the light turned blue, and the change caused the woman to frown.
“How could it be him,” she muttered to herself, but just as she spoke, the pearl trembled and began shining a beam of light towards a specific direction. It was towards the direction that Luo Xiao and Jiang Yao had left.
The beautiful woman hesitated for a moment. Complicated emotions were evident in her eyes as she glanced at the utterly empty cave. After an internal debate, she began following the direction that the pearl pointed out to.
“I have not seen him in many years; I guess I should see how he is doing,” she muttered to herself. However, unbeknownst to her, her voice was trembling slightly, and her eyes had a strange kind of discomfort evident within them.
The woman followed the light. She did not rush, and she slowly found that many beasts had been slain on the way. The stronger beasts were killed with a single attack, which seemed to be a Qi attack, and she could not help but deepen her frown.
