The two of them naturally noticed the small interaction that Lu Jian and Lin Xiao had. They had heard that Lu Jian was originally planning to stay away from the throne’s battle. But it didn’t seem to be possible any longer because of his interaction with Lin Xiao. In fact, it would be weirder if they didn’t get into trouble.
Old Master Lu nodded. He looked at Lu Jian. "It’s rare to see you return back. You haven’t returned back at all for the past two years and I thought you would have forgotten about me."
Lu Jian’s face changed. "What are you talking, Grandpa? I naturally will not forget about you! Didn’t I send you letter occasionally."
"Mhm..." Old Master Lu checked on Lu Jian again and finally realized why he felt a bit strange. When Lu Jian was going to Sun Dragon Academy, he was clearly still a Body Training Stage punk who was only slightly better than his peers. But only two years or so had passed and the little punk was already close to breaking through to Golden Core Stage 1?
That was too fast.
Did this brat consumed some kind of treasure or encountered a Heaven defying accident?
"Why did you return this time?" Elder Lu, Lu Jian’s father, asked in stern tone. When facing Lin Xiao, it was clear that he had to soften his tone a bit, but when facing his son, Hehehe, there was no way he would do that.
Lu Jian smiled bitterly. "Father, I’m accompanying Lin Xiao around..."
Bletak!
"Why did you say his name carelessly?" Elder Lu felt his son really didn’t know his place. Didn’t he know that the person before him was a prince now?
Lu Jian was stunned then he recalled Lin Xiao’s new identity and nearly cursed. How could he forget that they had to address Imperial Family members with full respect if they didn’t want to be accused of slighting them.
"This..."
"Elder Lu, there’s no need. Lu Jian is my friend and we got along well." Lin Xiao stopped Elder Lu from beating up his son. He felt that his knowledge regarding the Imperial Family really need to be renewed as he himself often felt that he was being disrespectful to others...
Elder Lu nodded. "Thank you for your kindness, Your Highness."
Lu Jian rubbed his head resentfully. He should have known that Lin Xiao would not be accepted being addressed so formally. If it was a few more years from now, Lin Xiao might feel nothing.
But he was only a 19 years old brat and also someone who had only gotten a status for a short period of time. How could he accept getting addressed so politely like that?
"Father, I would like to bring Lin Xiao to tour my house a bit. He’ll be staying here for the night."
"Alright, I’ll ask the servants to prepare an additional room."
"Sorry for the trouble, Elder Lu."
"It’s nothing, it’s nothing."
After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Lu Jian proceeded to bring Lin Xiao to tour the house. The house itself was not that big but it still had several buildings because there were several families living here. His father was the second child and Lu Jian himself was the only child but he was called the third brother because he had two older cousins.
While Lin Xiao was touring, Old Master Lu glanced at his son. "What do you think of that new prince."
"He’s different, probably because he’s unaccustomed with the arrogance other princes have embedded deep into their bones." Elder Lu stroked his beard and glanced out of the window. His eyes were watching the movement of Lin Xiao and Lu Jian carefully. "If only he’s not a prince...."
"Are you worried?"
"Yes. Lu Jian is my only child and if something happens to him..." Elder Lu sighed. He was naturally proud that Lu Jian could enter Sun Dragon Academy when his two older cousins failed at the entrance examination. However, he was worried.
Amongst geniuses, his son was not particularly extraordinary and naturally, Elder Lu only wished that his son would be able to graduate safely.
Of course, if his son could perform spectacularly, he would be very proud as a father. But how many children could achieve that? Not to mention, Elder Lu didn’t want to put Lu Jian’s life in danger.
He didn’t want to lose his only child.
Old Master Lu knew that his second son valued Lu Jian greatly. Amongst the youngsters in Lu Family, Lu Jian was naturally the one with the best qualification to become powerful cultivator and him being able to enter Sun Dragon Academy was only to prove that point. After all, even though everyone above Body Training Rank 6 and below 20 years old could try, majority of youngsters actually didn’t have any hope of entering.
The real cultivation barrier was much higher than Body Training Rank 6 when one tried it for real. Most of them could only enter when they were already at Body Training rank 9 or even 10.
Lu Jian was lucky that he managed to enter when he was only at 19 years old, barely approaching the upper limit.
But compared to many other geniuses, Lu Jian was naturally not that eye catching and couldn’t be counted to be that great.
"He’s about to make his breakthrough to Golden Core Stage 1."
"Breakthrough... what?" Elder Lu was stunned when he heard what his father said. Looking at his father’s aged face, he could see that the latter was serious. "How come he can make his breakthrough to Golden Core Stage 1 so quickly? He should have only entered Foundation Establishment after he entered Sun Dragon Academy and... and...."
It was only 2 years or so since the time Lu Jian entered Sun Dragon Academy.
Even if Lu Jian make his breakthrough to Foundation Establishment right from the time he entered the academy, it still didn’t make sense for him to be about to make his breakthrough to Golden Core Stage 1 so quickly.
