E' Nan replied, Nothing special. Although Boundless took away a group of powerful cultivators, another group was left behind, including several Dukkhans. The man was hoping to intimidate Emperor Slayer, but unfortunately, he did not understand the beast at all. As long as no one in the Tianyuan Megaverse was as powerful as the High Seraph, Emperor Slayer would be able to deal with them. If the Tianyuan really did have experts at that level, Boundless would have never been willing to take such risks, nor would Spirit Nidus have been able to reset the megaverse so easily.
There were only a few Dukkhans, while the Spirit Nidus had many more, and yet Emperor Slayer had not been overwhelmed in the Spirit Nidus.
Having a few Dukkhans would be just about perfect; it would add a bit of fun.
The corners of Emperor Slayers mouth curved upwards. Enough. You want to know about Boundless, right? Ill tell you a bit
E' Nan listened in silence. Emperor Slayer said nothing to belittle the battleship, though he also was not entirely honest. According to his story, he had saved Boundless and Lu Yin, and everyone on the battleship revered him greatly. He also claimed that he was going to the Tianyuan Megaverse to guide peoples cultivation, which made him appear incredibly lofty.
After listening, E' Nan bowed low. Thank you, Senior, for rescuing Boundless several times. On behalf of the Tianyuan Megaverse, I am deeply grateful.
Emperor Slayer was happy to receive such gratitude. Continue.
E' Nan was left momentarily speechless, but after a bit of thought, he managed to spew a few more flattering words, which clearly pleased Emperor Slayer. Alright. Now that you know the situation with Boundless, are you still going to go to the Spirit Nidus?
E' Nan hesitated. That is part of my mission. Reaching the Spirit Nidus is imperative. There are still things that I must share with Boundless, so-
Emperor Slayer cut him off with a wave of his hand. Fine. Go, if you want. Ill continue on to the Tianyuan Megaverse on my own.
E' Nan quickly bowed again and then left from the springboard.
He was a bit uncomfortable about Emperor Slayer heading for the Tianyuan Megaverse, but that was no longer E' Nans concern. As for the information that Emperor Slayer had shared, the man had not believed a single word of it.
His only thought was to quickly reach the Spirit Nidus and complete his mission for the Tianyuan Megaverse.
Emperor Slayer let out a long breath. It appears that you dont believe me, foolish one. Fine, but whether you live or die is none of my business. Im really looking forward to your megaverse. There arent many experts there, and its quite peaceful. With my, Emperor Slayers, arrival, you should all get ready to greet me! Hahaha!
***
Eight years had passed since Boundless had escaped from the Consciousness Megaverse. They were just two years away from Beacon City.
The darkness of the Aevum Inch was as endless and infinite as ever. There was no end to be seen, its endless appearance unaffected by the strength of anyones cultivation.
It seemed possible that not even Immortals could see the end of the Aevum Inch.
Lu Yin stared straight ahead. They had almost reached the springboard.
A streak of black sliced through space, appearing at the side of the battleship extending far into the distance.
Lu Yin saw it, and his pupils shrank. He turned his head and saw a gigantic shadow looming over them, constantly drawing closer to Boundless. Was that Immortal monster actually chasing them?
It had just released a powerful attack that had torn through the Aevum Inch and nearly struck Boundless.
The moment that Lu Yin laid eyes on the monster, everyone aboard, including Chu Yi and the others, felt their hearts palpitate. They looked back and saw the pitch-black shadow steadily approaching them, and their faces grew pale.
At that instant, Lu Yin arrived at the battleships stern. He was quickly able to make out the details of the form behind them, and it really was the Immortal monster. Due to the incredible distance between them, Lu Yin was able to make out the creatures entire form, but as it drew closer, its immense size would mean that even a single breath could shatter Boundless.
As Lu Yin made out the form of their pursuer, he also saw how the massive beast moved.
It was actually hurtling its entire body through the Aevum Inch with its single clawed arm. The immense force of the movement surpassed what the beasts body could withstand, and it was thus flung forward by the force of its arm. Each movement far surpassed the power and speed of a springboard, which meant that the monster was constantly drawing closer to Boundless.
Lu Yins expression turned grave. Things could not continue in this manner, as the monster would undoubtedly catch up the battleship long before it reached Beacon City.
His hand rose, and the Tri-Azure Sword Intent slashed out.
As the attack was released, it merged with a single speck of light, which completed the technique and gave it the power of an Immortal technique. The slash slammed into the beasts hide. Aiming was unnecessary, and the monster showed no intention of dodging.
While Lu Yins Tri-Azure Sword Intent was unable to harm the monster at all, the power of an Immortal technique was at least enough to slow the beasts progress.
Adding only a single speck of Immortal matter did little, but adding five was enough to force the beast to hesitate as it threw its body forward. As more specks of light were added, the power of the attack rose. Finally, Lu Yin was able to completely stop the monster after it hurled itself forward, neutralizing the force of its arm as it moved to launch itself forward.
Lu Yins eyes lit up. I might not be able to defeat you, but I will at least slow you down.
Given the current situation, the beast was unable to avoid the Tri-Azure Sword Intent even if it wanted to. Its speed was astonishing, but Lu Yin had discovered the trick to restrain it. As long as he used enough points of light, he could ensure that the monster did not catch up to Boundless as the vessel traveled through the Aevum Inch.
However, they were rather close to Beacon City, and Boundless inevitably needed to pass by the city. Leading the monster to that place would be a disaster.
Lu Yin did not want to lure the monster to Beacon City, but there was no choice; the springboards led straight to Beacon City.
His own reserves of Immortal matter were dwindling. There was no way that it would be able to last until Boundless reached Beacon City, and Beacon City was not even close to being their final destination.
Lu Yin stared back, and the monster soon reappeared. It repeated the same motion as before. Apparently, that was the only way it could move fast enough to catch up to Boundless.
At this moment, no one disturbed Lu Yin. When it came to facing the Immortal monster, he was the only one capable of even barely holding it back.
Everyone else on the ship could only wait.
A sense of despair fell upon them once more.
Lu Yin focused on the beasts movement; each strike, the claws trajectory, where the beasts eyes focused. He remained calm. He could not rush or rashly use what Immortal matter he possessed. So long as he carefully observed the beast, Lu Yin was confident that he could spot a flaw. Even if the beast was an Immortal, it was still a beast, and a grievouly injured one at that. It was impossible for it to have no weaknesses.
The monster continued to draw closer to Boundless. Its two eyes were locked onto Lu Yin. Those eyes made it clear that the monster was intelligent, yet it also seemed completely incapable or unwilling to communicate. The pressure became maddening.
The Tri-Azure Sword Intent lashed out again, stalling the beast once more.
This time, as before, Lu Yin could not find any clear weak points, which left him with no choice but to repeat his previous method, despite knowing that he would eventually exhaust his specks of light.
Eventually, the beast caught up again, still using its bizarre but effective movement method.
Lu Yin continued to stare intently at it, occasionally attacking to slow the monster.
His Immortal matter continued to dwindle. He already had less than 300 specks of light remaining.
The ship was still more than half a year away from Beacon City; it had only just used the final springboard.
Protecting Boundless for so long had allowed Lu Yin to just barely discern the beasts weakness. Actually, it was not a weakness in the beast itself, but rather in its movement.
For some reason, no matter how the monster moved, it always protected an area between its two eyes. To be more precise, if Lu Yin considered what he believed to be the beasts uninjured form, it was protecting what would have been the center of its six eyes. While the monster was always staring at Lu Yin, one side of its body was always turned away from him.
Lu Yin attempted to use Heavens Blade to attack the area directly, and he even succeeded in striking the far side of the monster.
The beast instantly froze, clearly prioritizing protecting that side of its body.
While attacking the vulnerable area was not as effective at slowing the beast with the Immortal-level Tri-Azure Sword Intent, it was still useful. Using Heavens Blade compelled the beast to protect the side of its body that faced away from Lu Yin, despite his attack not posing any real threat to the monster.
Attacking with Heavens Blade also confirmed Lu Yins suspicions, though the attack was far from powerful enough to be effective.
He needed to be able to deliver an attack that could truly threaten the beast, but the vulnerable area was always facing away from Boundless, which made it difficult to strike.
The only option was Lightstream.
Infinitys power flowed through Lu Yins body as Heavens Seal sequence particles spread out and Wielder-realm battle force shrouded him. Invoking the Natural Art, Lu Yin clenched his right hand into a fist and released a devastating punch. The resulting shockwave rippled across Boundless.
Everyone on the vessel was bewildered: Would such an attack be of any use? It would barely do anything to the monster.
Lu Yins punch carried a terrifying force, powerful enough that even the High Seraph would struggle to survive. However, when it hit the monster, there was absolutely no effect. It was like seeing a droplet of water dispersing into a pool without creating so much as a ripple. The beast instantly shot past the place where it had been struck, and Lu Yin seized that opportunity to reverse time by one second with Lightstream.
Lightstreams ability to reverse time would normally be completely ineffective against an Immortal, as such beings time could not be shaken without reversing the River of Aeons itself. Even so, Lu Yin was able to reverse time for the punch that he had thrown, and that power reappeared precisely on the side of the beast that the monster kept away from Lu Yin. Finally, he had a way to strike the beasts hidden flank.
If reversing time with Lightstream could work on the beast, Lu Yins punch would have been nullified, but it was precisely because an Immortal ignored Lu Yins ability to reverse time that his punch was able to land.
He had never been aiming to strike the front of the monster, but rather its back, and the force of Lu Yins punch remained in full.
As long as the beast could not exceed a certain distance within one second, it would be impossible for it to avoid the punch that traveled through time.
There was a thunderous boom as the punch struck the far side of the beast. Lu Yins eyes flared as the monster abruptly stopped moving. Its two eyes spun around, filled with endless rage and bloodlust as it unleashed an earth-shattering roar.
Lu Yins eyes narrowed. He had indeed succeeded in stopping the beast, but only because it had been struck. It had not been injured in the slightest.
Even if that location was the monsters weak point, Lu Yin lacked the power to cause any injury.
The beast might stop moving once or twice out of a sense of caution, but as soon as it realized that Lu Yin was unable to cause any damage, it would stop caring about his attacks.
This trick would not be able to slow the beast for long.
Lu Yins body withered, and he quickly appeared in front of the Pridebeast and the Megalith. Hit me!
The two beasts and all of the nearby humans were stunned, but Lu Yins withered form allowed them to quickly understand that he wanted to accumulate power with Extremes Must Be Reversed.
Everyone had seen what had just happened. Even if they did not understand how Lu Yin had managed to stop the monster with a single punch, if he could do it once, then he could do it again.
The Pridebeast and Megalith exchanged glances, hesitating to attack.
Ill do it. Wilderness Gods Boundless Halberd lashed out at Lu Yin, and the weapon smashed into his back.
Sovereign Dou Sheng punched Lu Yins withered form.
One after another, experts unleashed their power, causing Lu Yins withered form to steadily return to normal. The Pridebeast and Megalith also eventually joined in. The most enthusiastic participant was Astral Anura, who attacked with an incredible sense of satisfaction.
Lu Yins body was quickly restored to normal, only for it to wither once again. Keep going!
There were some things that could not be done alone, and Lu Yin had never been alone.
His body repeatedly withered and was restored, the cycle allowing Extremes Must Be Reversed to gather power by absorbing damage, increasing Lu Yins strength.
While no one aboard Boundless could match Emperor Wus level of physical strength, there were a large number of experts present. They repeatedly attacked, using the Nine Heavens Transformation to eventually reach the limit of what Lu Yin could absorb with Extremes Must Be Reversed.
Again, he moved to the stern of the ship and stared at the monster.
It was still closing in on them. It was uncertain whether it was an illusion, but the suffocating pressure that had fallen upon Boundless seemed to have weakened.
When everyone felt powerless, despair would be at its greatest. In contrast, when everyone was able to contribute, despair would inevitably fade.
