The void continued to collapse, forming a plane of darkness that stretched past the universe and tearing a hole in a corner of the silver world.Lu Yin and Greater Sancte Awe Gate stepped forward together, hoping to use Infinite Darkness to counter the silver world.
But a moment later, the silver resumed spreading. Not even Infinite Darkness could stop it.
Shan Barrens could not stand against the silver world.
If we really want to break through this world, then we must find Hui. His world is seeping into everything, but it has no destructive power. That means that theres no way to fight it directly. What a headache. If it comes to it Greater Sancte Awe Gate looked at Lu Yin. The transmutation disc.
Lu Yin nodded. This was the only way.
Before he left to visit the Seven-Treasure Anuras, Greater Sancte Green Lotus had given Lu Yin a transmutation disc, which was essentially a miniature Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm.
It had not been needed during that trip. He had not expected to use it during this one.
Still, using that treasure to deal with Hui would not be a loss.
It was just that Lu Yin could not bear to pay such a price.
A transmutation disc was a miniature Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm. Greater Sancte Green Lotus had been confident that one would be enough to give Lu Yin a single moment with which to escape from any foe who overwhelmed him. It was a lifesaving treasure.
Wait a little longer. Hui wants to bet on how long we can last, but we still need to buy more time, Lu Yin replied. They had not lost much of their power yet. What had been expelled was also not truly gone. With time, it would recover. The one who needed time more than anyone else was Mister Mu.
Lu Yin looked towards the cauldrons again. Master, weve paid too much for your breakthrough.
A River of Aeons and a transmutation disc were genuinely priceless treasures.
You must succeed!
Time flowed on. Several days had passed, during which the silver world continued to expel power from everyone within it. Awe Gates Heartrift Power was only able to open twenty-two rifts now. Her Nirvana Tree Path was growing increasingly unstable, and Mi Jins spirit seed hovered on the verge of falling away.
They had reached their limit.
Lu Yin was similarly not doing well. More and more cracks had appeared in the stars in his inner universe. Karma, Heartrift Power, and everything else was being expelled from him. With a few more days, there was no question that they would be overwhelmed by Huis next assault.
They were growing anxious, but Hui was feeling even more desperate.
The humans still had choices, whereas Hui had none. They could only wait.
Attack. If we wait longer, we wont have any strength to put up a fight at all, Greater Sancte Awe Gate said.
Lu Yin nodded and took out the transmutation disc out of his cosmic ring. He threw it out, and it immediately expanded. A seemingly endless amount of karma erupted, blotting out the sky. As that happened, Lu Yin released his own Karmic Dao, connecting it to the transmutation discs karma and spreading his influence across the universe.
No matter how small, a Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm was still a Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm, and Lu Yins Karmic Dao supported it. Break this silver world for me!
The silver filling the universe grew unstable as the Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm spread out.
Hui was startled. Karma? He also controls karma? Just how has this human cultivated?
It was clear that Lu Yin had been waiting, stalling, and trying to buy time all along.
It was as if a giant was lifting up the silver veil. Lu Yin and Greater Sancte Awe Gate released pent up breaths. The feeling of their power being expelled from their bodies vanished.
Hui, are you still hiding like a turtle? My master is about to finish his breakthrough, Lu Yin shouted with a loud laugh.
They were not only fighting to protect Mister Mus breakthrough, but also to avenge his megaverse.
Obscuras invitation weighed down on Lu Yin, but he would only agree to join after exacting revenge.
Hui had to die.
Heartrift power, karma, teleportation, formidable defenses, terrifying physical strength, and a razor-sharp sword intent: each successive ability that Lu Yin had revealed had stoked Huis killing intent further. However, those same powers were what granted Lu Yin the confidence to face the silver being, especially after the silver world was pushed back. Hui seemed to be helpless.
At least, that was what Lu Yin and the others all believed.
If Hui had any other options available, they would have never taken the risk of dragging things out and engaging in a war of attrition. It was the worst possible option for the silver being to take.
Karma held the silver veil back. From a distance, it was as if the megaverse had been split into two separate halves by two colossal beings. The upper and lower halves of the megaverse were dazzling when compared to the other.
Boom, boom, boom
The drumbeats resounded, and the silver sea recondensed. Hui reappeared. The figure opened their hand: Sword Planting.
Once again, countless silver swords emerged from the void, following the same trajectories as before as they slashed at Lu Yin and Greater Sancte Awe Gate.
Awe Gate waved a hand, and innumerable gates swallowed the silver swords. Their preparations rendered Sword Planting useless.
Why did Hui persist in using the technique? They should have known that it would not work.
Be careful. Theres something wrong with that drums sound, Lu Yin uneasily cautioned. He teleported behind Hui, jabbing a finger forward and releasing a beam of gray light.
Hui was wary. Lu Yins Willforce Wave had blocked the silver sword once before, making Hui instinctively cautious of the attack. The silver being immediately dodged.
But how could their speed surpass teleportation?
Lu Yin reappeared behind Hui once again, this time releasing his Tri-Azure Sword Intent from the Investiture of the Gods: Hidden Blade.
Hui turned, their sword slashing and shattering dozens of Hidden Blades. The drum behind them grew louder and louder, to the point where the two humans clenched their teeth as their hearts started to race. What unsettled Lu Yin the most was the tearing sensation, not because it was growing stronger, but rather because it had disappeared entirely.
The tearing feeling that should have accompanied the drumbeats had vanished.
That could not possibly be right. The tearing sensation from the drumbeats had injured both Lu Yin and Greater Sancte Awe Gate before, but it was entirely absent at the moment. That meant that there was some other power at play.
Boom!
A deafening drumbeat roared through the universe. The entire place shook once, including Kang Tian and the nine cauldrons, as Mister Mu was inside the cauldrons. He opened his eyes and looked at Huis distant form.
The whole universe had frozen. Hui, the powerful drumbeat, Greater Sancte Awe Gate, Lu Yin, the shattered void, and even the distant stars had all frozen and become completely motionless.
Lu Yin stared at Hui. For that moment, his instincts prevented him from moving. There was a warning rising up from deep within him.
Greater Sancte Awe Gate felt the same thing.
Kang Tian and Mister Mu also remained still, as they could each feel that moving even a lttle would bring disaster upon them.
Not even Hui moved. The drum had also stopped. It was as if time itself had frozen in the universe.
The universe was still the same place as before, but Lu Yin sensed that there was something wrong. This feeling was no longer like outer spaces, but rather as if there was another force blanketing everything. What sort of power could it be?
The drumbeats, Greater Sancte Awe Gate spoke without moving, Lu Yin, this is because of the drumbeats. Theyre covering the entire universe. This is the power of that mirebound drum.
Lu Yins eyes turned to the drum behind Hui. Each mirebound artifact had its own unique effect, but there was one attribute they all had in common: mysteriousness.
For example, Uncle Jiangs three divine tools had allowed him to comprehend the cultivation shortcut of aura energy.
Another example was Lu Yins own die that had an amazing ability on each of its six faces.
Yet another was Yong Hengs five-leaf clover, which had been able to resist karma.
Mirebound artifacts could possess a wide variety of strengths, but the one that Hui used as a weapon could not be anywhere close to average.
The drumbeats had replaced the very universe in a mere moment, leaving everyone instinctively afraid to move at all. They understood exactly what that meant.
This is my Drum-Sound Realm. You had better not move. If you do, you might die. Hui called out as their gaze swept across Lu Yin and Greater Sancte Awe Gate.
Lu Yin stared at the silver figure. Die? If its really that powerful, why didnt you use it earlier?
If I had used it before, would you have been trapped by it? If I hadnt led you to believe that I was cornered, how could you have allowed my Drum-Sound Realm to appear? Hui answered in a smug tone.
Lu Yins eyes turned cold. It was a fair point; Lu Yin had been careless and allowed the drum beats to build up.
If he had known that the mirebound artifact could pose a genuine threat, Lu Yin would have gone after the drum from the beginning of the battle, preventing the Drum-Sound Realm from ever manifesting.
With teleportation, it would not have been impossible to do so.
No being who reached the Immortal realm could be simple. Even so, Lu Yin did not blame himself too much. He did not believe that he was smarter than everyone else, and he did not doubt that Hui had the means to manifest the Drum-Sound Realm even if Lu Yin had remained vigilant the entire time. Without such an ability, there would be no point to carrying that drum about.
Huis eyes swept over their two opponents and quietly relaxed. The drum had both a Drum-Origin Realm and a Drum-Sound Realm. The earlier drumbeats had been the Drum-Origin Realm, which had been of almost no threat at all to the two humans. Luckily, the Drum-Sound Realm had appeared.
The Drum-Sound Realm was not only Huis power, but also the drums. It was not at all easy to use, and there was a price to pay for doing so. If they had not been forced, Hui would not have wanted to use it at all.
Since it had been used, the two humans would pay.
As long as you dont move, this realm cant hurt you. Miserable, isnt it? Not being able to move at all. Hui sneered.
Greater Sancte Awe Gate mocked the silver figure. You cant move either, can you?
Youre right, I cant move either. My Drum-Sound Realm doesnt distinguish between friend and foe. Whoever moves will end up in an unlucky position.
Those words did not allow Lu Yin or anyone else to relax at all. Since Hui had used this ability, there had to be a follow-up.
Sure enough, Hui continued speaking. You may not want to move, but I can force you to. Humans, making me your enemy was your stupidest mistake. Remember, anyone who can join Obscura is not one to be trifled with!
With that, the silver being did something unclear, but Lu Yin suddenly felt the entire universe start to move. No, he was moving, despite not having moved his body at all.
This is bad! This is their cosmic law! Greater Sancte Awe Gate shouted.
With that, starting at where Lu Yin and Greater Sancte Awe Gate stood, stars expanded and then simply exploded. The entire universe started to shrink, collapsing in on them. The Drum-Sound Realm had replaced the universe, and everything was collapsing and being destroyed.
The endless damage even spread towards Hui, who was not very far away.
The silver being barked a cold laugh. A flash of silver appeared beneath them, as a silver coffin appeared, floating in outer space.
Hui opened the lid and laid down inside of the coffin. No matter how the universe outside of the coffin exploded, the coffin did nothing besides shake slightly. Whatever was inside of it remained completely untouched.
Far away, Kang Tian watched on in horror as the destruction spread farther and farther. It looked like this would destroy the entire megaverse. The snail wanted to flee, only for the destruction to suddenly veer away from it. The exploding raced off in another direction, before it could reach Mister Mu.
Kang Tian knew that Lu Yin and Awe Gate must have drawn the destructive force away. If they had not done so, then even if Mister Mu managed to survive, his breakthrough would have absolutely failed.
Before long, the universe recovered from collapsing, exploding, and collapsing again. The stars slowly grew calm.
Hui pushed the lid of the silver coffin aside and climbed out. Ultimately, humans could not hope to compare to Obscura. The fishing civilization simply had too many means at their disposal. The coffin was able to block the destruction of the Drum-Sound Realm. If not for that, Hui would have had to flee far away.
With the silver coffin, there was no need.
They looked over at Mister Mu. Oh? Is he still fine? So the destruction was diverted. That means that those other two humans must be gravely wounded, if not already dead.
Originally, Hui had intended to use the Drum-Sound Realm to eliminate both of other two humans along with Mu Zhi, disrupting his breakthrough. Even if the human Immortal had not died, Mu Zhi certainly should have died, or at least lost any hope of breaking through.
The destruction may have been diverted, but that did not matter. By facing the destruction directly, especially after much of their power had been expelled from their bodies, those two humans would be lucky to have even a third of their strength remaining. They would not be able to stop Hui at all.
As soon as that thought entered their mind, red entered Huis sight. They frowned. Crimson? Why does that look so familiar?
Then, silver eyes bulged. The being stared into the distance in disbelief. Thats a red coffin?
Impossible!
