Lu Yin raised his hand. Strands of sword intent swirled around his finger as he pointed straight at Bing Xu.The man sneered. You still want to break my Umbrella Dominion?
Lu Yin shook his head. I was only reminding you to look. This is true despair.
As his words fell, the sword intent swirled down along his hand. It withered and recovered in a repeating cycle. It was taking too long for the consuming power of the Path of Dispassion to build up Extremes Must Be Reverseds power, so he had decided to do the work himself.
Bing Xus eyes narrowed. There was clearly something wrong with both Lu Yin and Jiu Wen's attitudes. This brat was too calm, too unshakable. Did he truly intend to break his Umbrella Dominion? That was simply impossible. Even if He Xiao or another Immortal who cultivated the Path of Dispassion were trapped inside, they would find it extremely difficult to break free from Bing Xus Umbrella Dominion. One could even say it would be difficult for Jiu Wen to break free. What was the source of this brats confidence?
Stop putting on a show. I will not let you go. No matter how you act, it is useless, Bing Xu shouted coldly. This man had to be coordinating with Jiu Wen to intimidate Bing Xu into backing off. Ridiculous. Since when had cultivators of the Path of Dispassion been frightened by threats?
Ba Yue glanced at Jiu Wen. What is going on?
Inside the Umbrella Dominion, Lu Yin smirked. Extremes Must Be Reversed had reached its limit.
He raised his hand and swept it upwards. It was an effortless movement, like someone stretching after waking up or raising a hand in greeting.
But that single swing of his arm split the cosmos asunder.
The Umbrella Dominion was cleaved in two. The umbrella ribs in Bing Xu's hand shattered, inch by inch. An unseen impact forced him to retreat, step after step. He spat out a mouthful of blood as his sneer transformed into an expression of shock and then horror. He stared ahead as if seeing a monster.
In that instant, the entire Crimson Starshade Civilization fell dead silent. No one spoke. Everyone stared at the sky in a daze, watching a scene worthy of being recorded in history.
They had just seen an Eightfold Crimson Immortals Umbrella Dominion be split in two. They saw the dark, endless cosmos return to view, and they saw the disbelief on Bing Xu's face. They also saw the young man standing in outer space, a faint smile on his face. He looked so confident, so unrestrained, and so composed. His eyes were as calm as if he had just woken from sleep.
At that moment, everyone realized that this man had never once considered Bing Xu a serious opponent.
It was as if a giant had just stood up.
Pfft!
Bing Xu spat out blood once again as his entire body trembled. The splinters of his umbrella ribs had impaled themselves through his arms and chest. He was in a far worse condition than Xie Man after her Umbrella Dominion had been shattered.
He stared at Lu Yin in a stupor, but Lu Yin did not even look at the man. Is he a monster?
Ba Yue was stunned. Elsewhere, He Xiao, Xi Shangfeng, and Meiran Dan were all frozen in place. Not one of them could ignore this moment. They were witnessing history, witnessing what it meant to be invincible.
One person had forcibly shattered an Immortals Umbrella Dominion. That should have been impossible.
Even Jiu Wen's expression stiffened. He had known that Lu Yin was capable of breaking the Umbrella Dominion, but he had not expected it to be so easy. It had looked as if the Umbrella Dominion were nothing more than an ordinary paper umbrella.
This was showing contempt for Crimson Starshade.
In outer space, Lu Yin lowered his hand and rolled his wrist. He muttered, A very impressive battle technique. Not bad.
Bing Xu's head buzzed. He could not accept any of this.
Lu Yin looked up, his eyes locking onto Bing Xu. With one step, Lu Yin appeared right in front of the man.
At this moment, Bing Xu had no will to even resist. Lu Yin reached out to seize the mans throat, but suddenly, the void nearby warped. Someone emerged, and as they did so, they also reached for Lu Yin.
Lu Yin allowed this newcomer to grab his arm, even as his own hand clamped onto Bing Xu's throat and lifted him up.
Let go! the newcomer shouted sharply. He abruptly released his grip and then smashed down with the back of his fist. The blow froze space and time as gray currents flowed through the void. Time slowed and even reversed. One fist imprint after another overlapped, ultimately converging as they slammed into Lu Yins arm.
Lu Yin's arm withered as he accepted the blow. The arm fully recovered. What a powerful fist.
A faint fist imprint lingered on the back of his arm, but while the newcomer's punch was ferocious, it still could not overpower Lu Yin.
He turned to look at the man.
The newcomer was staring at Lu Yin, his eyes grave. While he had restrained his killing intent, it was still readily apparent. That frigid, bone piercing, and yet overwhelmingly oppressive bloodlust had a sharp quality to it.
Held aloft by Lu Yin, blood dripped from the corner of Bing Xu's mouth as he rasped, Senior, save me.
The man was thin, and he had an air of possessing a refined, tempered strength. He spoke slowly, his voice muffled, I am Ji He, Tenfold Crimson.
Lu Yin met Ji He's eyes. You want to save him?
To save you.
Lu Yin arched a brow. What does that mean?
Ji He coldly stated, Bing Xu is a disciple of Ancestor Hong Xia.
Lu Yin's expression changed. He had not known about this, as no one had told him. He turned to look at Jiu Wen, and the old man lowered his wine gourd and nodded. Thats right.
Lu Yin looked back at Ji He. The mans fist was still pressing against Lu Yins arm. He slowly loosened his grip, allowing Bing Xu to drop. He started coughing up blood nonstop.
Ji He withdrew his hand and looked down at Bing Xu. Go back and heal.
Bing Xu looked up, glanced at Ji He, and then looked back at Lu Yin. Venom filled the mans eyes.
Lu Yin frowned. That look was not good. He had never let someone off after they looked at him like that, but he was in the Crimson Starshade Civilization, and Bing Xu was actually Ancestor Hong Xia's disciple. That complicated things greatly.
Jiu Wen's strength was unfathomable, and yet Ancestor Hong Xia was publicly acknowledged as the strongest being in Crimson Starshade. He was a Twelvefold Crimson and had resonated with at least two cosmic laws. Even if the Seven Treasure Anuras Old First were present, he might not be able to win. If Lu Yin killed that Immortals disciple, then even if he managed to escape, he would never be able to interact with Crimson Starshade again in the future.
Still, this man deserved to die.
Aren't you leaving? Ji He barked.
Bing Xu gritted his teeth, shot another look at Lu Yin, and then turned to leave.
Lu Yin suddenly lifted a leg and kicked Bing Xu, sending him flying and smashing into the nearby megaverse.
No one had expected that reaction. Bing Xu plummeted through the sky like discarded trash. Almost half of his body had been destroyed.
Ji Hes head snapped around to glare at Lu Yin. You!
Lu Yin shrugged. He looked injured, so I helped him down.
Ji He's eyes flicered. They were colder than ice.
From afar, Ba Yue stared intently at Lu Yin. This guy had been informed that Bing Xu was Ancestor Hong Xia's disciple, and yet he had still dared to kick him. How incredibly arrogant.
Jiu Wen put away his wine gourd and stepped forward. Why have you come out of seclusion, Ji He?
Ji He stared at Lu Yin as he coldly replied to Jiu Wen, If I hadnt come out, this man would have turned the cosmos upside down.
Lu Yin raised his eyebrows as he looked at Ji He. Are you talking about me?
Dont get so upset. It was just a spar. Jiu Wen waved a hand dismissively.
Lu Yin looked at Jiu Wen. I absolutely want to kill that man, but he is Ancestor Hong Xia's disciple, and I cannot refuse to show respect to Ancestor Hong Xia.
Ji He's voice remained frigid. Why do you want to kill him?
Lu Yin shot a cold glance at Ji He. This man had claimed to be saving Lu Yin, but he had clearly intervened to save Bing Xu. His killing intent towards Lu Yin was intense and impossible to hide. He ordered people to kill my Canglan Valleys disciples.
"Your people from Canglan Valley deserve to be killed," Ji He retorted.
Lu Yin stared at Ji He. "It seems that you also want to attack us. Let me ask you this first: you arent also one of Ancestor Hong Xias disciples, are you?"
Jiu Wen coughed lightly. "He is."
Lu Yin understood. "No wonder he saved Bing Xutheyre fellow disciples, two Immortal disciples from the same master. Ancestor Hong Xia is most impressive."
Ji He sneered. "There are more than that! Meiren Dan and Xi Shangfeng are also Ancestor Hong Xias disciples, and He Xiao is a nominal disciple."
Lu Yins expression shifted slightly. This was no small matter. While it might be possible for a powerful Immortal to raise one Immortal, raising multiple Immortal disciples indicated that the person had to be extraordinarily impressive.
He looked at Jiu Wen. "You arent also one of Ancestor Hong Xias disciples, are you?"
Jiu Wen shook his head. "I am not, but Ba Yue received guidance from Ancestor Hong Xia during her breakthrough, so she can be considered half a nominal disciple."
Lu Yins expression grew heavy. This Ancestor Hong Xia might be even more terrifying than he had imagined.
"Sect Master Jiu Wen, the people from Canglan Valley are spreading deception and trying to disrupt the Path of Dispassion. How should this be handled?" Ji He demanded.
Jiu Wen replied, "This is a wager between myself and Mr. Lu."
Ji Hes voice dropped low. "You would harm those who follow the Path of Dispassion and damage the foundations of our Crimson Starshade Civilization over a mere wager? What meaning does such a wager have?
"Not only that, but I also hear that your wager concerns the human civilization that this man comes from? Ridiculous! If there is another human civilization, it should be stated openly. Why resort to a wager?"
The man then fixed his gaze on Lu Yin. You should understand how difficult it is for a civilization to survive within the Aevum Inch. But for the sake of your own selfish interests, you have placed a human civilization in peril. What punishment do you deserve for this crime?
Lu Yin blinked, completely bewildered by what he heard. Is he calling me guilty?
He had always believed himself to be eloquent, but Ji He was simply ruthless, condemning Lu Yin without granting him a chance to speak.
"What? Nothing to say? Then give us the coordinates for your megaverse. Our Crimson Starshade will help your people cultivate. A civilization should have at least two or even three Immortals. Only by allying with us can you hope to protect yourselves. Otherwise, your civilization could be destroyed at any moment, and you will be condemned by humanity for all ages," Ji He continued in a sharp tone.
Lu Yin was speechless. "Our civilization is surviving just fine."
"Hmph! It will do even better in the future," Ji He coldly pronounced.
Lu Yin looked at Jiu Wen. "Does Ancestor Hong Xia not choose his disciples carefully? They all seem to be either fools or idiots."
"Insolent!" Ji He roared in fury, about to strike, but he was stopped by Jiu Wen.
The old man sighed. "I am now the sect master of the Sect of Dispassion. Before entering seclusion, Ancestor Hong Xia also entrusted the Crimson Starshade Civilization to me. I will decide this matter myself. Ji He, simply do your own duties."
Ji Hes eyes narrowed, and he looked over at Jiu Wen. "Do you truly intend to favor this foreigner?"
"Were all human. How is this favoritism?" Lu Yin retorted.
Jiu Wen looked at Ji He. "Since the wager has been agreed upon, it should be honored. Do you wish to have me break my word? Moreover, are you even certain that you can overpower him?"
Ji He was very wary. He had just seen Lu Yin split Bing Xus Umbrella Dominion in two. That was a terrifying level of power. This man did not appear to be a mere Aberrant; he had to be a hidden Immortal, one who was capable of deceiving all of their perceptions. That was extremely impressive.
But as wary as he was, this was still the Crimson Starshade Civilization. Jin He scoffed. "Nothing more than an inferior creature."
Lu Yins gaze turned cold as he stared at Ji He. "Inferior?"
Ji He said, "The Nine Ramparts were destroyed long ago. If I am not mistaken, the human civilization that you come from was once thrown out as bait. The fact that you were abandoned back then is proof of how great the gap is between you and us is. If that is not inferiority, then what is?"
Lu Yin stared blankly at Ji He and then smiled. "So is that how you see us?"
Ji He clasped his hands behind his back, completely unfazed. "It is unexpected that you were able to survive."
He suddenly seemed to think of something, and his gaze returned to Lu Yin. "By all logic, when the Nine Ramparts were destroyed, you should not have survived. Yet you did, and you even retained a bit of an inheritance and knowledge of the Nine Ramparts. You must have run away."
