Chapter 4353: Extremely Strong

Disdain filled Furballs voice. "Did you think that I didnt see it? When you saw Ni Bieluo, you ran like a rat! Still, the fact that you managed to kill Ni Ren means that there are no Aberrants who can match you. Hong Xia, are you panicking now? This brat is going to butcher you. Hahahaha!"

Lu Yin retorted in a deep voice, "Furball, dont say things to harm a sense of unity. Ba Se, Furball is trying to stir up conflict. Are you just going to watch?"

Furball snorted. "Who doesnt know that you want to get rid of Hong Xia? Ni Rens opponent was Hong Xia all along. Heheh, why was it able to get away and go after you instead? Hong Xia, explain that."

Ba Se spoke up, "Orange has already provided an explanation for this incident. Obscura will impose a corresponding punishment."

Lu Yins expression grew cold. "Ba Se, thats unnecessary. Its possible that Hong Xia was just tricked. His brain has never worked well, so its just to be expected."

Old Man Hehe chuckled again. "Ba Se, this brat is showing dissatisfaction with you."

Ba Se did not respond, but Che suddenly spoke up. "Lu Yin, are you all right?"

Lu Yin said, "I am fine."

"Ni Ren was very strong. I was not confident that I could defeat it myself. You are very impressive."

Lu Yin rolled his eyes. He was not fool enough to believe that. He might not know Ches true strength, and while that might have been an honest comment, he would rather believe that Che was lying.

Che was an ancient creature who had fought in the war that had destroyed the Nine Ramparts. Was such a creature inferior to Ni Ren? The chances of that being true were extremely small.

Lu Yin then remembered that, when Furball had exposed the fact that Che was the master of Void Mountain, the aura that Che had released had terrified him. That kind of aura was not something that Ni Ren could compare to.

Furball asked, "Actually, Im very curious. How did you beat Ni Ren?"

Old Man Hehe laughed and said, "I am curious too. Child, do you want to talk about it?"

"Sure. Lets have a gathering somewhere. How about Crimson Starshade?" Lu Yin casually suggested.

"I agree," Furball instantly replied. Hong Xia had repeatedly shared their location, and Lu Yin had found them several times. It was only natural that Furball harbored a grudge over that. If they could lure Old Man Hehe to Crimson Starshade and have a gathering there, who knew what might happen?

"Hehe."

Whenever Lu Yin entered Vestigium, it always became lively. Anytime he had a conversation with Furball or any of the others, he kept probing, trying to gather information about the various members of Obscura.

This time, Furball was not showing nearly as much hostility towards Lu Yin as usual. Clearly, the fact that he had eliminated Ni Ren had caused all of Obscura to reassess his strength.

Ni Ren had instantly killed Lan Meng, and yet Lu Yin had managed to kill Ni Ren. That was a level of strength that deserved respect.

Inside the orange coffin, Hong Xia listened in silence. Lu Yins words might sound like pure sophistry, but they often drew out information that could be analyzed, and he even brought up Hong Xia from time to time. It was truly nauseating.

Even so, the boys strength was exceptional. After all, Ni Ren had actually been defeated. Hong Xia had asked Ba Se exactly how Ni Ren had been defeated, but Ba Se would not speak of it.

Hong Xia guessed that someone must have first heavily injured Ni Ren and then left it for Lu Yin to finish off, but that did not seem quite right. Ni Ren had not been foolish. If it had encountered such an expert, it would have certainly designated its karma to restrain them, because such an opponent would have been proof that Ni Ren was Obscuras Aberrants next target, against whom designating karma was meaningless.

No one from Obscura should have been willing to help Lu Yin deal with the creature.

Hong Xias expression grew cold. Everyone was aware that he had deliberately allowed Ni Ren to go, hoping that it would kill Lu Yin. He had paid a price for that, and yet his efforts had still failed. Lu Yin was becoming harder and harder to deal with.

Especially as he listened, Hong Xia inexplicably began to feel isolated.

In the past, Obscura members had not communicated with one another. Each individual had kept themselves hidden with no exceptions. Recently, Lu Yin had started to pull stunts that had successfully thrown off Obscuras normal rhythm. It even seemed like he had a good relationship with Green, Purple, and Che. No matter how Hong Xia analyzed the situation, it seemed that those few would come together. He was not fooled by how frequently Green and Lu Yin hurled insults at each other; the more that happened, the easier it was for them to draw closer.

What if they joined forces to deal with him? How could things have come to this?

For the first time, Hong Xia felt like a stranger in Obscura. Everything had started with Lu Yin. Detestable. It was all because of him. If Hong Xia had not betrayed the Nine Ramparts, Lu Yins ancestors would not have survived and that remnant civilization would not exist. It was hateful. If only Hong Xia had delayed his betrayal for a little longer back then.

He wished he could immediately go and slaughter the Human Trio.

Given time, Lu Yin would have chosen to chat in Vestigium for ten days or half a month, but Furball and Old Man Hehe did not have the opportunity to accompany him. Before long, they all stopped speaking.

Lu Yin called out several times, but no one responded. He could only ask Ba Se about the Mudwater Dominion.

Ba Se replied, "The Mudwater Dominion is Ni Bieluos domain alone. I am explaining this to you in human terms."

Lu Yin understood. That was why killing any creature other than Ni Bieluo would only grant four-star rewards. He asked curiously, "Ni Bieluo must be very strong, right?"

"Extremely strong."

"Who in Obscura does it compare to?"

"No comment."

"Old Man Hehe actually managed to hold off Ni Bieluo. He is shockingly strong."

"Extremely strong."

"Furball always feels a bit weaker than them, but what about Hong Xia? How does Hong Xia compare to them?"

"Extremely strong."

Lu Yin felt something was off and asked, "Ba Se, how strong do you think Ni Ren is?"

"Extremely strong."

"Has Ni Bieluo comprehended karma?"

Ba Se revealed a rare bit of surprise. "How do you know?"

"Dont forget that I have also comprehended karma. I could sense it."

Ba Se said, "You are correct. Ni Bieluo has indeed comprehended karma. The Mudwater Dominions absolute means was created by Ni Bieluo. Its use of karma differs from yours since it cannot attack or even deduce much. Instead, it uses karma on its entire civilization, which is what allowed the Mudwater Dominion to leap from an ordinary civilization to a fishing civilization, even becoming regarded as an Aberrant in the Aevum Inch. Without their absolute means, the Mudwater Dominion would not be qualified to wage war against Obscura."

"If thats all true, why didnt you tell me this before?"

"Aside from designating karma, Ni Bieluo has no other abilities related to karma. You already knew about designating karma, so there was no need to tell you."

"How do you know it isnt hiding anything?"

"Ni Bieluos opponent will not be you."

Lu Yin did not press things further. Ba Se would always have an excuse, no matter what Lu Yin said.

He thought of the Seven-Treasure Anuras. Ancestor Shan had been so powerful, and he had certainly surpassed Ni Bieluos strength. Despite that, the Seven-Treasure Anuras had not been a fishing civilization. In the end, Ancestor Shans strength had been his alone, whereas a fishing civilizations strength had to be collective.

Without the absolute means of designating karma, the Mudwater Dominion would be quite similar to the Seven-Treasure Anuras.

If the two had fought, what would have happened?

Lu Yin recalled how terrifying Ancestor Shan had been. Perhaps the Mudwater Dominion would have faced the same fate as the Blacklight Civilization. Even if Ancestor Shans karmic chain had been completed and his strength crippled, he still would have been enough to destroy the entire Mudwater Dominion.

Not only that, but the Mudwater Dominions ability to designate karma also could not have threatened Ancestor Shan. The ancient toad would have simply slaughtered all of the Immortals regardless of the increase to his karmic chain.

Unfortunately, no matter how strong Ancestor Shan might have been, it would have still amounted to mutual destruction at best. Even someone as formidable as Ancestor Shan had not dared to barge into Vestigium. Obscuras foundation ran far too deep.

Before the war, Lu Yin and Hong Xia had antagonized each other until things between them had become irreconcilable. They had even dragged Furball and other Obscura members into the conflict. After the war, with Obscura granting 1,000 years of protection to the civilizations of every member who had been conscripted into the war, neither Lu Yin nor Hong Xia could go after the other. That had likely been Ba Ses aim.

Ba Se said, "Lu Yin, you have the red, silver, and blue lines. When will you return them?"

Lu Yin pursed his lips tightly. "Theres no rush. I will definitely return them to you."

"Return them to Obscura."

"I understand."

"When will you worship the Divine Tree?"

"I already said that theres no rush. Ill go."

"What is the ability that immobilized Ni Ren?"

"Crow Immobilization?" Lu Yin answered reflexively. His expression changed sharply. "Ba Se, you tricked me."

Ba Se calmly replied, "I already know that it is an ability from the Ten-Eyed Divine Crow. I recognized it the moment I saw it. I simply did not expect you to be capable of obtaining one of the Ten-Eyed Divine Crows abilities. Congratulations."

Lu Yins eyes narrowed sharply. "Obscura doesnt pry into its members secrets. Ba Se, you crossed the line."

"You did not answer."

Lu Yin took a deep breath. He had been careless. All along, Ba Se had stayed out of things. Even when Lu Yin and Hong Xia had clashed, Ba Se had not intervened. Not only that, but Ba Se had also seemed to help Lu Yin at times, which had caused him to lower his guard a great deal in regards to Ba Se.

That would not do. Ba Se was also a member of Obscura, and they might even be the leader of Obscura. They were one of humanitys greatest enemies.

Lu Yin silently withdrew from Vestigium.

As he pushed the lid off of the red coffin and stared off into space, Lu Yin realized that Ba Se was genuinely interested in how Lu Yin had obtained Crow Immobilization. That meant that they did not know where the Divine Crow was.

Hong Xia knew, but Ba Se did not. Was he keeping it a secret?

Although the Divine Crow was enormous, it was pitifully small in comparison to the Aevum Inch. Obscura was very powerful, but not to the point where they could search the entire Aevum Inch.

Ba Se cared about the Ten-Eyed Divine Crow. This was the first time that they had tested Lu Yin to the point of skirting around Obscuras rules. In that case, was it possible for him to use the Divine Crow for something?

Lu Yin thought about it, only to then reject the idea. Since even Ba Se was interested in the dead bird, its importance was clear. Unless the Ten-Eyed Divine Crow was useless to Lu Yin, he would not allow Obscura to lay a hand on it.

In the past, it had taken three Rampart Wardens working together to kill the Ten-Eyed Divine Crow. The Divine Crow had been peerlessly powerful, far above someone like Ni Bieluo.

When there was time, Lu Yin needed to go and see if he could obtain more abilities from the Divine Crow.

For the time being, he needed to pay a visit to the forest of Mother Trees.

During the war, Lu Yin had helped Furball with their assigned opponent. In addition to the four-star reward that would have gone to Furball, Lu Yin had also been promised a forest of Mother Trees by Furball.

After teleporting repeatedly, he eventually finally found the forest.

As he stared at it, he saw that there were not many trees, but they were absolutely magnificent. Each Mother Tree was enough to support an entire megaverse.

However, since these Mother Trees had been uprooted, none of them could survive for long.

Lu Yins gaze swept the area to confirm that Furball was not present. He then raised a hand and placed it on a Mother Tree. "Dust to dust, earth to earth."

The Mother Tree began to wither and transform into drifting ash. Specks of green light entered his inner universe. As one Mother Tree after another disintegrated, the green lights within Lu Yins inner universe grew far more numerous than ever before. Even so, it was not enough for him, nowhere near enough.

Still, the green lights did give him the confidence to face the Ten-Eyed Divine Crow again. He did not know what abilities its remaining eyes might possess, but he was still somewhat eager to find out. Unfortunately, Ba Se had learned of the Divine Crows existence and would surely try to find it. Lu Yin could not go for the time being, in case Obscura was watching him.

He needed to wait a while longer.

Next, there was the set of coordinates that he had received from Che. Che had said that he would hand over a relic of the Fifth Rampart to Lu Yin.
