Chapter 4387: Lotus Cannon

Lu Yin wanted to stop Jiang Feng, but then he realized that Si Qin did not seem to have noticed the man at all. He was clearly walking straight towards the bird, and yet it was as if Si Qin could not see Jiang Feng at all.

This was the complete opposite of Heaven's Sight. Heaven's Sight allowed Lu Yin to see everything, while Jiang Feng seemed to have vanished completely.

The cauldron kept taking strikes as beads of sweat rolled down Mister Mu's forehead. Fighting against such a terrifying powerhouse put more pressure on him than an entire universe. This was a battle of life and death.

Lu Yin ignored everything else as he released his inner universe. The silver line fused with the blue lines, and he underwent a dual-colored divine energy transformation. Terrifying divine energy erupted, shooting straight into the sky. Nan Ling looked over at Lu Yin in surprise. Can this boy actually go this far? He cannot be allowed to live.

Just as the bird was about to strike, Green Lotus arrived in front of it and pointed at it with one finger: Thousand Faces of Karma, Karmic Heavenwheel.

Nan Ling casually retaliated with a Godplume Spear. The Karmic Heavenwheel was shattered in an instant, taking no effort at all.

Green Lotus dodged the Godplume Spear. From behind the bird, divine energy shot forward, aiming straight at Nan Ling, but it just casually waved its talons and blew the divine energy apart.

Nan Ling had done so with far greater ease than Ming Yu, especially given that Lu Yin had recently massively improved his physical body, which meant that he could handle even more divine energy than before. While his current dual-colored divine energy transformation was still not at the same level as his tri-colored version, it was not far off. Even so, it still posed no threat whatsoever to Nan Ling.

The bird’s eyes grew incomparably cold. It instantly appeared close to Lu Yin, and its talons fell, striking to kill.

Lu Yin neither dodged nor retreated. Heaven's Sight locked onto Nan Ling. The bird reflexively shut its eyes, and Lu Yin raised his hands and pressed his palms together. At that moment, divine energy surged into his arms. His recent physical transformation allowed him to endure the full power of this dual-colored divine energy without his reason being suppressed. Confronted with Nan Ling's attack, Lu Yin compressed all of the dual-colored divine energy that he had, bending it to just one purpose: blocking these talons.

The talons stabbed into the divine energy in his hands. The bird’s attack slowed, but it did not stop.

Nan Ling's eyes radiated pure ridicule. "Human, you have greatly underestimated the gap between us."

The talons slowly drew nearer to Lu Yin's chest. At that moment, not even teleportation would be enough for him to avoid this attack, as Nan Ling would inevitably move with him. Feathers exploded from all around Nan Ling's body. It refused to budge, no matter how Green Lotus attacked. It intended to drive its talons into Lu Yin's heart, inch by inch so that it could tear this human apart.

Lu Yin raised his head to face Nan Ling, the corners of his mouth lifting. "No, you're the one underestimating me. How could a mongrel bird like you ever comprehend human wisdom?" As he spoke, the clothes over his chest were torn open, revealing a black armor plate.

The talons met the plate of black armor, which did not move in the slightest.

Nan Ling's pupils shrank sharply. How is this possible? He’s actually blocked my attack?

Lu Yin suddenly used a great deal of strength with both of his hands, seizing Nan Ling. "Senior!"

Green Lotus, who had been unable to do anything to Nan Ling thus far, suddenly had a change in aura. As he stood in outer space, more Karmic Heavenwheels appeared around him. There was not just one finger, but rather a thousand. Every single Karmic Heavenwheel was condensed from the Thousand Faces of Karma. The 1,000 Karmic Heavenwheels was actually condensed from the entire Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm. From afar, they looked like a lotus blooming. Green Lotus’s eyes opened as he pointed one finger at Nan Ling.

The Plume Immortal was horrified. This human had actually been concealing his combat strength throughout the entire battle. This solitary finger made Nan Ling’s entire body grow cold. This was dangerous. It had to evade it.

The bird’s aura surged violently. Cracks split open across Lu Yin's arms, and his blood sprayed everywhere. Despite that, he persisted, using divine energy to hold his arms together as he held Nan Ling in place, refusing to let go.

Nan Ling tried to escape by teleporting, but Lu Yin teleported as well. He vanished for an instant, but before disappearing, Lu Yin exchanged glances with Green Lotus. A moment later, Lu Yin reappeared.

Nan Ling could not erase what Lu Yin saw in that instant. Since it moved first, Lu Yin was able to follow it and drag the bird back to its original location.

As a result, although the two kept moving around, they only shifted around Green Lotus.

The Greater Sancte’s finger strike would ultimately hit its target.

Thousand Feathers, Thousand Changes. Nan Ling used its life-saving battle technique, splitting into a thousand different images that flew in every direction. Only one of them was real, but not even Nan Ling itself knew which one. Only by leaving even themselves ignorant could the birds avoid leaving any hints for their opponents to exploit.

Taking advantage of that, Lu Yin teleported to Nan Ling's side and grabbed hold of the bird again.

The Lotus Cannon had already been broken. Nan Ling glared at Green Lotus, whose finger had just struck it, and then turned its talons towards Lu Yin. This human was still the greater threat.

Lu Yin looked up, and plates of black armor shielded him from above, taking another blow from the talons. At that exact moment, Nan Ling suddenly sensed that something was wrong. The Karmic Heavenwheels that had stabbed the copies created by the Thousand Feathers, Thousand Changes had not disappeared. Green Lotus's expression was still calm. Since he understood the Plume Immortals' abilities, how could he possibly have not prepared for Thousand Feathers, Thousand Changes?

All long, Lotus Cannon had never targeted Nan Ling before it used Thousand Feathers, Thousand Changes, but rather the Nan Ling in this precise moment. As long as both Green Lotus and Lu Yin could touch Nan Ling at the same time, that was enough.

Nan Ling slowly turned its head to stare at Greater Sancte Green Lotus. This is bad!

All of the Karmic Heavenwheels transformed back into karma and merged together, instantly gathering upon the finger that had already struck Nan Ling. At Green Lotus's fingertip, a lotus bloomed. A thousand Karmic Heavenwheels reappeared: Lotus Cannon.

Bang!

A tremendous blast erupted, and Nan Ling spat out blood as it was hurled backward. Its body had been pierced through, and white ripples spread out from the Plume Immortal as it shot into the distance like a meteor.

Seizing the opportunity, Lu Yin teleported forward. From within him, the red line merged with the silver and blue ones. Tri-colored divine energy transformation.

Back in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, the red line that had merged with the red umbrella had been a fake.

Well, it had initially been real, but after Lu Yin teleported away from the megaverse to chase after Nan Ling and Si Qin, he had switched out the red line. The entire goal had been to mislead the Plume Immortals.

Lu Yin’s tri-colored divine energy transformation had enabled him to crush Ni Ren, and later, he had also defeated Ming Yu at the Plume Immortals' great tree. Obscura knew about this, and given the presence of that terrifying old freak in the birds’ tree, Lu Yin was not sure whether the Plume Immortals were aware of this ability as well. For that reason, he had acted on the assumption that the birds did know, and therefore he had revealed the red line first, in order to lower their guard. Only now was it time to unleash his true strike.

With the tri-colored divine energy transformation, the instant the surging divine energy erupted, Lu Yin raised a hand and viciously slammed it down at Nan Ling.

Green Lotus pressed both of his hands downward as well, releasing his Heavenly Karmic Macrocosm, which transformed into a karmic shockwave that slammed into Nan Ling from another direction. The bird was given no chance to catch its breath.

The Lotus Cannon was a technique that Green Lotus had kept hidden all along, having prepared it specifically for Hong Xia. However, he had been forced to reveal it at this moment.

Nan Ling was no less of a threat than Hong Xia. There was simply no other choice.

In the distance, Si Qin was stunned. Had Nan Ling actually been wounded? How could that be?

Throughout the Aevum Inch, only a handful of beings were capable of injuring Nan Ling, and all of them were either old monsters or resonated with three cosmic laws. Without that advantage, it was nearly impossible to wound Nan Ling. Even if this human civilization possessed the raw power to harm Nan Ling, none of their attacks should have ever been able to land. What had happened?

Suddenly, Si Qing also felt an intense chill. Before its eyes, a sword blade fell, accompanied by the roar of thunder.

Si Qin stared at a human before it. When did he arrive?

It had not noticed the man at all.

The sword slashed sideways.

Thousand Feathers, Thousand Changes. Si Qin vanished.

Jiang Feng's sword struck empty space. From behind him, a Godplume Spear shot forward, only to be blocked by a cauldron.

Jiang Feng was helpless. Against any other Immortal being, even a two-law Immortal, that slash would have struck, regardless of its ability to wound his target. Unfortunately, these Plume Immortals were too disgusting. Teleportation was far too difficult to counter. Once Jiang Feng entered the state of being unnoticeable, he could no longer sever the birds’ connection to the cosmos. What a pity.

Si Qin was astonished. Was this human civilization? It had not participated in the war against the Nine Ramparts, and thus it did not understand what the human civilization of that era had represented. But at this moment, the bird was starting to gain a bit of understanding. It had almost been struck. Even though the attack had not seemed powerful enough to actually injure it, such a near miss still left Si Qin shaken.

Plume Immortals did not fear a power greater than their own, but rather methods that were able to counter their own abilities.

Clearly, this human civilization had accomplished exactly that.

In the distance, divine energy and karma both fell. Blood stained Nan Ling's feathers, and its eyes grew absolutely sinister. It had actually been injured. Damned humans! They have to die! They must all die!

It clenched its talons and twisted its body, flinging its wings both upward and downward. One movement struck the approaching divine energy, while the other clashed with the karma.

With a thunderous boom, both the divine energy and the karma were blown aside.

Lu Yin's expression changed. This was the strongest attack that he was currently capable of unleashing, and yet it was unable to injure Nan Ling at all. Even with his tri-colored divine energy transformation, was the gap still so great?

Green Lotus's heart dropped. This was exactly why he had always been certain that he needed to work together with Jiu Wen to face a powerhouse at this level. Nan Ling’s strength was comparable to Hong Xia's. Even with the means that Green Lotus had kept hidden, he had no way to deal with the combat strength of a being who was so close to resonating with a third cosmic law.

His Lotus Cannon was his strongest trump card, but just injuring Nan Ling once had already been incredibly difficult. It would be even more difficult to create a second chance to do so.

Nan Ling spread its wings and let out a shriek of fury. Its cry rang across the Human Trio, chilling countless people to the bone.

His expression grim, Lu Yin turned to meet Green Lotus's gaze. "Senior, please stop holding back. It's time to use your full strength."

Green Lotus’s voice grew helpless. "I already have. This Lotus Cannon is my most powerful technique, prepared specifically to deal with Hong Xia."

Lu Yin stared at the other man. "Senior, you have two cosmic laws. What about the other one?"

Green Lotus took a deep breath. "It is not suited for combat."

Lu Yin's heart sank. At a time like this, it was impossible for Green Lotus to keep anything hidden, and with Hong Xia as an open threat and a known enemy, there was no longer any reason to keep things hidden.

This was a genuine problem. Killing intent flooded Lu Yin’s mind as the surging divine energy constantly tried to wash away his sense of reason. Fortunately, he had merged with three lines of divine energy twice before, and his body had also transformed. With both of those factors, he was able to suppress the influence of the divine energy and retain his rationality.

"Lu Yin," Green Lotus called out.

Lu Yin looked over.

"The power of karma is very strange. Everyone comprehends it differently. It can be used to attack, and it can also be used to analyze things. I have one technique that can restrain Nan Ling, but I need to be very close to it. Help me create that opening," Green Lotus asked.

Lu Yin looked at the man, a certain unease rising in his heart. "Senior, this isn't some move that ends in mutual destruction, is it? That won't do."

Green Lotus smiled. "Dying together with a bird? I'm not so foolish. This will only restrain it for a while. The duration should not be long. I am simply hoping that the battle on Obscura’s side will end as soon as possible."

Lu Yin frowned. Was this really all there was to this?

"Don't overthink things. Keep your eyes on the bird. Its target at this moment may not be either of us," Green Lotus reminded him.

As soon as he spoke those words, Nan Ling let out another shriek and stared at Lu Yin and Green Lotus, though it naturally avoided looking at Heaven's Sight. A mocking smile appeared in the bird’s eyes, and then it vanished abruptly.

Lu Yin's eye twitched. That smile... if its target isn’t us, then who? Master? Or Greater Sancte Awe Gate and the others?
