Chapter 4404: Invincible Fist Technique

Chen Jian said, "My masters witnessed the era of humanity's most glorious civilization. They never told me the true glory of that era, but they remained absolutely certain that the Star Fist could be trained into a battle technique invincible throughout the cosmos. Whenever they spoke of it, their eyes betrayed reverence and awe. I will never forget that expression for the rest of my life."

He looked at the manual in Lu Yin's hand. "I know my masters well. They poured the efforts of their entire lives into me, and they died because their injuries were too severe. I was the only disciple they ever accepted. They would not have lied to me. If they said invincible, then it must truly be invincible.

"Lu Yin, believe me, my Starfall Megaverse is not worthy of that legend, but humanitys glorious age was."

Lu Yin looked back down at the Star Fist manual. The strongest fist technique that reached invincibility? Could it be real? Could this Star Fist have originated from the Rampart Warden who used fist techniques? That was the only possibility that he could come up with. How could anything else, even if it came from the Nine Ramparts, lead to a truly invincible fist technique?

Humanity's peak had been the era of the Nine Ramparts, and each Rampart had possessed powers capable of astonishing an entire era. Of this, Lu Yin had no doubt.

But if the Star Fist was truly capable of becoming an invincible fist technique, then Obscura would not be ignorant of it. Because Obscura had given him the location of the Starfall Megaverse to begin with, they most likely would not interfere. Something as minor as the Starfall Megaverse was not worth Obscura's attention.

Chen Jian himself was not all that powerful. At most, he could fill the gap left by the deceased Kang Tian.

Thus, once the humans of the Starfall Megaverse were all taken away, the megavere fell completely silent.

Lu Yin arrived atop the Shattered Dipper and observed the star itself. It was the faith of everyone from the Starfall Megaverse. Before they left, he would have never done something as rash as step on it.

Chen Jian was the only one who could step on the Shattered Dipper whenever he wished, but now, the star had been abandoned.

Lu Yin remembered how, before leaving, every person that he had taken away had knelt and bowed to the Shattered Dipper. Their reluctance was the helpless sorrow of losing their homeland.

If this had been an ordinary star, he could have taken it to the Three Megaverses, but it was on the verge of collapse and could not be moved at all. The moment he touched it, it would completely shatter.

Much time had passed since that war, but Lu Yin had never taken the initiative to seek out anyone from the Mountain Sword Sect. This was not because he did not want to, but rather because it had not yet been the proper time. Even now, it was not truly the right time, but it was still appropriate to meet with someone at least once.

"I am very sorry for the death of your Mountain Sword Sect's ancestor," Lu Yin said.

Shan Yue raised his head to look at Lu Yin. In a gloomy voice, he said, "That had nothing to do with Lord Lu. The fact that Lord Lu saved the Mountain Sword Sect during that war is something that the Mountain Sword Sect will repay, even at the cost of our lives."

It had not been easy for them to survive. They had suffered far worse than the Starfall Megaverse. Powerful enemies had fought for dominance over their native megaverse, whereas the only Immortal that the Starfall Megaverse had ever seen was Chen Jian from beginning to end.

The Mountain Sword Sect had been defeated and driven out of that megaverse. Given the strength of the Mountain Sword Sect's ancestor and their sole Immortal, they should have been able to survive by finding nearly any other megaverse.

It might not be easy to find megaverses scattered across the cosmos, but given enough time, one could eventually succeed. Unfortunately, they had been unlucky enough to stumble into a megaverse connected to Obscura, or more precisely, a megaverse that was home to a civilization that was a tool of Obscura. The Mountain Sword Sect had essentially walked into a trap.

Shan Yue's voice dropped low as he spoke of the sacrifices made by the Mountain Sword Sect's ancestor and the hardships that their people had endured. "Sometimes, we wonder if the Plume Immortals attack on your Human Trio was also our misfortune bringing harm upon your civilization."

Lu Yin laughed. "You are overthinking things. The Plume Immortals have long since been mortal enemies of all of humanity. Their attack had nothing to do with you."

Shan Yue sighed. "If my master has any spirit left in heaven, seeing us settled into safety would surely bring him comfort."

Lu Yin took another sip of tea. "What was the name of the Obscura member that used your people?"

That was the reason why he had summoned Shan Yue. Lu Yin wanted to avenge the Mountain Sword Sect.

Of course, he would not directly target another member of Obscura. It was not yet time to openly turn against Obscura. What Lu Yin wanted was to find the creatures that had driven the Mountain Sword Sect from their native megaverse and take their homeland back for them.
