Chapter 4534: Lu Yin And Old Sixth

Lu Yin had successfully landed a blow on Great Golden Wings. Seizing the chance, countless streams of Stillness burst from the surrounding stars and converged upon his palms. The Duality Seal came smashing down, slamming into Great Golden Wings’ skull and cracking it.

The skeleton bird wailed and hurriedly retreated to evade, but Lu Yin grabbed its bone talon. "You think you can run?"

Great Golden Wings struggled to pull away, but it had underestimated Lu Yin's strength. While it was not as terrifying as his true body’s physical strength, his skeleton clone’s was still absurd. Thus, Great Golden Wings was unable to break free.

Only then did it realize that this human skeleton was causing damage not only because of the Duality Seal, but also in part because of his physical strength. The bird had never imagined that a human, with such a tiny body, could possess such tremendous power.

"How much Stillness do you still have?" Lu Yin shouted as his stars of Stillness revolved and devoured more of the energy.

Great Golden Wings screeched, "Human skeleton, you cannot become an Abyssal! Only by helping me can you hope to succeed. Your only choice is to help me!"

Lu Yin sneered. His right hand held one of Great Golden Wings' talons while his left hand rose up and slammed down on the bone bird.

Crack.

Great Golden Wings' talon snapped. It wailed, utterly enraged, and its bone wings swept forward as all of its remaining Stillness surged forth. Its entire body turned incomparably black, but all of a sudden, it grew horrified. "My Stillness? You— what did you do?"

The distinct black color covering its bones gradually faded away, revealing the white bones as the surrounding stars continued to absorb Stillness.

Great Golden Wings was horrified. "How can you devour my own Stillness? How is that even possible? You should not be able to do this! Who are you?"

Lu Yin clenched a fist. The Duality Seal hovered above it as he threw a punch. His tremendous physical strength combined with the Duality Seal to pierce through Great Golden Wings' body. White bones shattered and scattered across outer space. "You are done."

Great Golden Wings was terrified. "I admit defeat, human skeleton! I admit defeat! I will help you become an Abyssal!"

Bang!

A loud crash rang out. Lu Yin had shattered Great Golden Wings' head with a second palm strike.

Admit defeat? Impossible. There was no such thing as this bird admitting defeat. It had to die.

It was just a pity that Lu Yin’s true body could not use this bone bird to increase his karma. Unless absolutely necessary, his true body would not appear.

Cracking sounds continued to ring out as Great Golden Wings' body slowly shattered before his eyes. With its Stillness gone, it was already impossible for the skeleton bird to survive. Stillness was the only reason why the Death Megaverse’s skeletons were able to live, as Stillness supported the Bone Script that they had received.

If that Stillness was completely removed from their bones, the skeletons would die. This was the same as what had happened to Ba Yue and Chen Jian before.

In truth, Lu Yun could easily deal with the creatures of the Death Megaverse.

While looking at the broken white bones beneath him continue to shatter and disperse through the cosmos, Lu Yin sat cross-legged. He would wait here for his next opponent.

Having eliminated Great Golden Wings, he could be considered truly qualified to take part in the struggle to become the next Abyssal.

Of course, he had known from the very beginning that he could not become an Abyssal. He simply wanted to verify as much as he could about what would take place at this location. If the Trio was targeted, his only choice would be to risk having his true body act.

Far away, the Seven-Treasure Anura was fighting a powerful enemy, though Lu Yin could not see Old Sixth’s opponent. The distance was too great for him to sense their power. He could only watch.

The battle did not last long. The powerful enemy retreated. Old Sixth had won and was heading towards Lu Yin.

The toad had been fighting one of the pure black creatures native to the Death Megaverse, but the battle had been too simple. Old Sixth had only used Star-Plucking Hands to drive their opponent away.

The Death Megaverse had six Abysses at the moment. If each one had sent one expert as a candidate, then it meant that six experts were taking part. Lu Yin had already dealt with Great Golden Wings, which made for two. Old Sixth had just driven that pure black creature off, which was another two. That meant that there were still two experts unaccounted for.

It was also an optimistic estimate to say that there were six experts competing to become the next Abyssal. No matter how powerful the Death Megaverse’s Bone Script might be, they should not have that many powerhouses at Zhou’s level who were qualified to compete for the position of Abyssal.

With seven Abysses, if each one had one Abyssal and one other Immortal who was qualified to compete for the position, then there would be fourteen powerful Immortals. This was already a truly shocking number, but in truth, each Abyss had more than just two Immortals. Because of Bone Script’s special nature, the Death Megaverse had far more Immortals than any other civilization that Lu Yin was aware of.

With such numbers, if there were also beings who possessed the strength necessary to compete for the position of Abyssal, the Death Megaverse’s strength would be far too absurd.

Peering into the distance, Lu Yin quietly waited for Old Sixth to arrive.

Some time later, the toad arrived. Lu Yin looked at them, and they also saw Lu Yin. Disbelief covered the anura’s face. "You? You actually dared to come here?"

Lu Yin greeted Old Sixth. "It’s been a long time."

Old Sixth sized up Lu Yin and then glanced around. "You dealt with one?"

Lu Yin nodded. "Yes."

Old Sixth was surprised. "Even you can deal with one? Who was so useless?"

Lu Yin did not argue. Had Great Golden Wings been useless? Of course not.

"All right, since I'm here, you can leave now. Or do you want to play with me?" Old Sixth raised a brow while giving Lu Yin a sidelong glance that expressed utter contempt.

Lu Yin shrugged. "Of course I'm no match for you, but since I've made it here, you have to make me completely give up."

Old Sixth grinned. "You're itching for a beating. No, that's not right. You don’t have any skin. Your bones are itching, aren't they?"

Lu Yin merely wanted to get a sense of Old Six's strength. This was the toad that Ancestor Shan had claimed to be the most gifted of all the Seven-Treasure Anuras, and yet Old Sixth had joined the Death Megaverse. As long as there was a chance, Lu Yin would not let it slip by. He wanted to try to understand Old Six.

"Judging by your current condition, did you fight a tough battle?" Lu Yin asked.

Old Sixth proudly stated, "I dealt with one."

"Who?"

"Why should I tell you?" Old Sixth had always found this human skeleton unpleasant, and the toad’s gaze grew increasingly dangerous. "Hurry up and get lost. If Thousand Machinations didn't value you, I would've long since made you understand why flowers are so red."

Lu Yin raised his arm and beckoned the toad over. "Then force me to give up completely."

Old Sixth grinned. "You really are asking for a beating. Fine, then don't blame Master Sixth."

The toad then leaped up and kicked at Lu Yin. Lu Yin remained standing in place. As Old Sixth drew closer and closer, a suffocating pressure rushed towards him, like the force of a mountain pressing down upon him.

He clenched a fist and threw a punch. Stillness intertwined with Activeness to create the Duality Seal.

Boom!

There was a loud crash, and the void was compressed in all directions. Lu Yin retreated step by step, his entire arm trembling.

And yet, Old Sixth's attack was also stopped. They stared at Lu Yin in surprise. "Not bad. You aren't even an Immortal being yet, but you managed to block my kick. Also, why does that look so much like Death's Dominion’s technique?"

Lu Yin slowly unclenched his fist, only to curl his fingers back into a fist. The movement produced a faint sound that made one's teeth ache.

This Old Sixth was much stronger than Great Golden Wings. A casual kick from the toad had forced Lu Yin back. This level of strength definitely matched that of a two-law powerhouse.

"You win. I'll leave." Lu Yin had confirmed Old Sixth's strength.

The toad sneered. "Ridiculous. Master Sixth hasn't even used any strength yet, and you're already admitting defeat. Hurry up and get lost. Don't waste Master Sixth’s time. Also-" Old Sixth stared at Lu Yin with greater intensity. "When you tell stories in the future, don't write any that include Master Sixth. Otherwise, no matter which Abyss you're in, Master Sixth will still beat you to death. Master Sixth will soon be an Abyssal."

Lu Yin smiled at the toad. "I understand. Your strength is enough for you to sweep through all competitors. I look forward to seeing you become an Abyssal."

Old Sixth let out a disdainful snort. "Stop trying to flatter Master Sixth. I'm not like that idiotic Withered Requiem. None of the competition is simple. Master Sixth may not know how you managed to survive until now, but the opponents that Master Sixth encountered were not simple."

"Very powerful?" Lu Yin was surprised. Old Sixth was certainly proud, yet not arrogant. This sort of personality was quite different from the other Seven-Treasure Anuras. Old Sixth’s only critical flaw was a bit of an obsession with logic.

Right, logic. He’s obsessed with logic, so he couldn’t become arrogant. The very premise of arrogance is illogical speculation.

Old Sixth grew solemn. "The opponent I encountered was a creature of the Death Megaverse. I fought it for five rounds, and only during the fifth round did I manage to win with Anura’s Star-Plucking Hands. Even then, I only won by one move."

Lu Yin was surprised. This meant that he had only seen the very last exchange of the fifth round. No wonder it had ended so simply. He had not seen any of the first four rounds.

Since that creature of the Death Megavese had fought five rounds with Old Sixth, it was undoubtedly another two-law Immortal. That was quite impressive.

Actually, given this information, where had Great Golden Wings gotten the confidence to compete for the position of Abyssal? In the eyes of Old Sixth and the other participants, that skeleton bird would be no different from Lu Yin’s own skeleton clone.

He left. Old Sixth continued to eye the human skeleton with a dangerous glint in their eyes. Lu Yin feared that the toad might misunderstand something, think that he wanted to try to seize the position of Abyssal, and then ruthlessly strike him down as a result. While Old Sixth might be wary enough of Thousand Machinations to not kill Lu Yin, simply being badly injured would be troublesome enough.

It would be better for him to watch from farther away. In any case, he would be able to see Old Sixth, while this toad would not be able to see him.

If his guess was correct, there were still two competitors. If this toad was lucky, those two would encounter each other first, and one would be eliminated. That would allow Old Sixth to only have to deal with one more opponent.

After an unknown amount of time, a shadow suddenly appeared at the finish line. It arrived abruptly and without warning. It was definitely not using Stillness to pave the path, but had rather traveled along the existing path.

Lu Yin stared at the shadow that had appeared at the finish line, shocked. Is that... a human?
