The chosen successor then was Aurora. But a chain of accidents along the way led to not only Aurora successfully inheriting the might of time, but also Safina from the Void. She sat upon the Throne of Time, bound there for eternity, ruling this world’s past, present, and future.”
As Kaiser spoke, his gaze seemed to pierce time and space, as if seeing that queen of time—a loneliness untouched by years or the mundane.
Isha knew what Kaiser’s sister had sacrificed to shelter living spirits. So even though they had once crossed hands—Kaiser had even, for a brief moment, mistaken her for someone else—she still held deep respect for the sister-and-brother both.
To Isha’s doubt, Kaiser only slowly lifted his head to the deep, black night and said, faintly:
“This disaster is tied to the god of light among the primordial deities, so with my power I can intervene to help. She sent me here first. As for what to do... she didn’t spell it out.”
Isha blinked, a little lost.
“So that means your sister... is coming too?”
Kaiser hesitated, then gave a muffled “mm” and nodded.
“I think... she probably will...”
While the two spoke, Valendna suddenly “blinked” over, hopping between Isha and Kaiser. She tilted up her emerald starry eyes, face full of swoony flowers, and stared at Kaiser.
“Hero! ~ So ~ handsome ~”
Kaiser’s whole body glowed faintly as he looked down at this extremely forward girl.

Only then did Isha and Valendna register that both the gravity field and the lightning storm had vanished when he arrived. They hadn’t time to figure out how. Isha took a step forward and said:
“We’ll help you, Kaiser.”
But Kaiser only flicked a hand back in a quick gesture, telling the two of them to stay put.
Having resisted that brutal gravity field, Isha and Valendna were indeed spent. Valendna watched Kaiser’s back with some worry.
“Isha, is he going to be okay alone? Those two peril-forms are absurdly strong...”
Isha’s thoughts moved. In her mind rose the scene from years ago—Kaiser fighting shoulder to shoulder with her brother-in-law, who fancied himself the strongest. Few in this world could keep pace with Leon’s rhythm in battle; Kaiser was one of them. At that, the corner of Isha’s mouth lifted.
“He’ll be fine. Trust him.”
As she spoke, Kaiser quickened his pace, charging the lightning peril-form. The peril-form sensed the threat and immediately released dozens of even more ferocious thunder orbs at Kaiser.
Kaiser made no move to dodge. His line of advance was a straight line—he simply ran head-on into the oncoming barrage.
Valendna’s pupils dilated fast.
“Hey, hey! He’s going to get hit like that!!”
Yet when those powerful thunder orbs came within a few centimeters of Kaiser’s body, they were scattered outright by his body’s energy. He tore through the storm of lightning at extreme speed as if no one was there, utterly unhindered.
Reaching the lightning peril-form, Kaiser dropped into a lunge, bent forward, swept his right hand back, and gathered a violet energy sphere in his palm. He didn’t need to hunt for timing or angle, because in his eyes this lightning peril-form...
was already riddled with cracks.
Wind surged over his fringe; violet light washed his impassive face, the pupils reflecting a monster whose panic had just broken through.
Kaiser snapped his arm and hurled the sphere, striking the creature’s back unerringly. In an instant the violet energy ballooned; amidst blast and fire there was only the monster’s wail. When the flames and golden light cleared, the peril-form’s body was already down. The spines on its back flashed with arcs twice—and then nothing.
Kaiser stood where he was, composed. He turned to the last peril-form—the one that controlled gravity—and walked toward it.
The thing felt Kaiser’s power. It seemed to back off even as it dropped a crushing gravity field, trying to pin him.
Boom!
Boom!!
Boom!!!—
The ground at Kaiser’s feet was hammered into subsidence by three gravity waves, spiderweb cracks racing outward.
Even the hard pebbles on the ground powdered in an instant. If that gravity were aimed at anyone else, they’d have been a red smear already. But Kaiser was unscathed.
He only paused his step and hissed:
“My shoulder’s a little sore.”
Then he rubbed his shoulder and, as if nothing had happened, kept walking toward the gravity peril-form.
“Rr... ROAR!!”
The monster bellowed in fear.
Kaiser didn’t stop for a heartbeat. He used the same move as before. And the end awaiting this peril-form needs no extra words.
In just a dozen seconds, Kaiser casually handled the far-ancient peril-forms that had given two Dragon Kings trouble.
Valendna was utterly stupefied.
“Isha... with a friend like this, why were we risking our lives just now?&rdqo;
Isha snorted a laugh and teased:
“Connections like this aren’t on call whenever you want. His big sister happens to be the god of time.”
“Promise me, Isha—whatever you’re fighting next time, whoever it is—you have to bring me along, okay?”
Isha smiled indulgently and pinched Valendna’s cute cheek.
“Okay. Come on, let’s check on Wu.”
“Mm-hm, okay!”
