Chapter 3299: Secrets of the Barrier Break

This answer made Nahuat’s eyes widen in astonishment.

But even with this understanding, the murderous intent born from fear still stirred within him restlessly.

It felt as if it were a natural instinct, or indeed, an instinct ingrained deep within the bloodline.

Much like insects facing avians, when being targeted by a predator, it’s an instinct of both fear and hatred, yet helpless.

Knowing it cannot be done, yet the murderous intent still stirs.

The last time Nahuat met the Dog Deacon, he didn’t know the extent of its abilities. Now he finally understood why so many would feel murderous intent when mentioning the Dog Deacon. Even his mentor Narudo was the same.

"Since the contract is signed, may I leave with it now?"

The Dog Deacon’s ears drooped lazily side to side, "You may."

Nahuat immediately picked up the contract document and stood up.

He opened his eyes only when turning his back to the Dog Deacon.

He opened his eyes and happened to meet Angel’s gaze, hesitated, then nodded towards Angel again, thankful for the cloud sofa he crafted.

Angel responded with a smile.

Nahuat didn’t say anything else, taking large strides heading towards the exit of the Dog House.

Just when Nahuat was about to lift the door curtain to leave, the Dog Deacon seemed reminded of something and suddenly spoke, "If someone asks about the authenticity of the contract later, I’ll say it’s real. But if they ask for more, such as deeper motives of the Changhuo Clan... as long as they sign a commission, I won’t keep it secret."

The Dog Deacon had read from Nahuat’s previous heart impressions that the Changhuo Clan’s promotion of the Barrier Break Method not only intended to disrupt various clans but also schemed against the Immortal Mirror Sea.

About this, if others don’t ask, the Dog Deacon is too lazy to elaborate. But if someone inquires, the Dog Deacon won’t keep Nahuat’s secrets.

Nahuat pondered for a moment, then turned his face to the side, "And if I were to sign another contract now, would Your Excellency the Deacon remain silent?"

The existence of the Immortal Mirror Sea, like the Sea of Void Mirror, is an embodiment of foundational laws in the Mirror Domain. Unless your power is enough to rewrite the domain laws, you’ll only end in vain, becoming a target for all."

Nahuat stopped in his tracks, turned around, took a deep look at the Dog Deacon, then bowed slightly, "Thanks for the reminder, but..."

"My understanding only represents my limits. The Immortal Mirror Sea is my understanding limit, but it’s not the end of Changhuo Clan’s understanding. Your Excellency the Deacon, haven’t you considered why Mentor Narudo sent me to the Everything House?"

"What kind of riddles were you just playing? How does the Changhuo Clan’s Barrier Break Method relate to the Immortal Mirror Sea?" Luigi curiously looked toward the Dog Deacon.

The Dog Deacon said impatiently, "Don’t ask about the contract."

Luigi: "You let us be witnesses, and we can’t even ask?"

The Dog Deacon was too lazy to bother with Luigi, its inner annoyance from Luigi pulling it into Pumpkin House twice... but that was limited to Luigi, if it were Laplace curious, it wouldn’t mind sharing.

As the Dog Deacon thought of this, it instinctively glanced at Laplace, finding Laplace gazing back at him.

The Dog Deacon’s heart skipped a beat.

Even though it wasn’t using its abilities at the moment, it could roughly guess Laplace’s meaning from her gaze.

"You... You want to know too?" The Dog Deacon stammered.

Moreover, Pipi Castle, the place with the most scholars and the most knowledgeable in research in the entire Daylight Mirror Domain, is located atop the Immortal Mirror Sea. If the Immortal Mirror Sea indeed released special Aggregation Energy, the Pirush scholars would have discovered it immediately.

Now, since there’s no related research from Pirush scholars, it indicates the issue.

"The Aggregation Energy released from the extinction of the Mirror Lights in the Immortal Mirror Sea indeed differs from the Aggregation Energy required by the Barrier-Breaking Method. "Unless the Barrier-Breaking Method contains deeper secrets? And these secrets are only known to the Changhuo Clan?"

Only if the Changhuo Clan holds the core secrets can they flaunt their method even after others research the Barrier-breaking perpetual machine, or even trade for research reports on it.

Luigi voiced his speculation.

Simply put, Nahuat is being watched right now because tribes still have doubts about the truth of the Barrier-Breaking Method.

Because of Nahuat’s "ignorance," Narudo doesn’t worry about him being spied upon in his mind by the Dog Deacon.

Luigi: "So you’re saying there’s mutual suspicion between Nahuat and Narudo as well?"

The Dog Deacon nodded: "Yes, that’s exactly it."

Luigi frowned and shook his head, exclaiming: "No wonder it’s the Changhuo Clan, that there could be such suspicion even between mentor and student."
